Thank you so much for your excellent easy-to-follow tutorials. They are a great resource for those of us learning to use the GR 55, which as I'm sure all GR 55 owners will agree is a overwhelming task when you first start using the unit. You do a awesome job of explaining the features which has helped me day by day to understand the seemingly endless options on the GR 55. Keep 'em coming!
Hi Kennis, Could these videos be improved? no, I honestly think that they're the best I've seen because they tell me exactly how it works, how it sounds. Roland's own videos with some guy shredding tell me nothing, their edit videos were poor too. Your videos show & tell me everything and I'll be getting one at some point in the future, because of watching your videos and also thanks to you... I'll know how to use it right away. Keep doing what you're doing you got it right first time!
These videos are excellent.. I just got my GR55 and was feeling I might return it. Your videos break it down beautifully and I will give it more time to explore. Roland should give you a commission seriously.
Thank you so much.I've only had my GR55 for two day's and was getting pretty discouraged and intimidated but you've really encouraged me to explore this amazing device.
Yeah how do you get the rest of the patches like the hyper te beat house fire rainstorm fine wine(,drop d,)fairy jazz gt and heavy pdlbend which is bank 31 1..which are their but I was under the understanding there was 910 sound's were available in the gr 55 I can only get 90 of them..and tell me sir how do I get the drum patches??if I could get that I would be a happy camper..don't worry I've got more questions for you.......
Hello Russel, Just saying how incredibly usefull your videos have been if it wasn't for you I wouldn´t even traveled half what I have in this journey with the GR-55 also thanks to you learned about the OPT-1, got it and made a collosal difference with my godin multiac SA, so that being sayed , I guess I just want to thank you man! and keep up the great tutorials love them! greetings from Mexico!
Hi Kennis. A remark on your presentation. It is on many moments to fast and your fingers move like a magicien. This is very hard to fotowedstrijd for me. I just bought the GR 55 and although you explain very ell the pace is high. Still I am thankful so far. I hope you re able to instruct more step by step. I m from Holland maybe that makes it all a bit more complicated. Do you have Some tips cos you re very good. Greetz from the Netherlands
Wow... such a great tutorial, congrats. Learning a lot about GR 55 from your YT videos. If you can help me a little bit more, CTL/Tap Tempo is not working for Tremolo/Delay. I did exact what you did, step by step, but not working here. Any idea/tip to fix that? Big thanks.
THANKS THANKS THANKS SO MUCH. ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS ABOUT THE GR 55.. HAVE A QUESTION HAVE YOU DONE ANY VIDEO FOR BASS USERS ... ANY WAY...THANKS AGAIN
Hi Kennis - got all four and getting familiar with it now. Are you doing one on using the librarian and how to best store backups. Your tutorials are excellent many thanks. I'm now getting to appreciate the Gr55 more now. It's turning into a great investment . Cheers Buddy😀
Hi Kennis, great your videos have helped me a lot. I have a problem. When I turn up the volume from my Pieso , the volume of the Patch is almost completely lowered I have to go out and re-enter the Patch to get the Patch volume programmed. thanks and i hope help me.
That just amazing ... You are such a great teacher and such an help. Be bless and hope to meet you on one of my trip in USA. Or if you just swing bye the French riviera ... you have a house waiting for you here. Mikael REALE
Hi,Kennis...Does it exist in gr-55 adding Harmonies in a Specific Key ( Harmonist ) as is the case with the Roland GR-33.I would ask you to give me an answer ... it is very important to me ...Thanks...
Hi! I love you tutorial video! I have a Multiac Godin nylon string! I use logic pro x to record! my question is! how I can connect the Gr 55 to my computer and use the the instrument? thanks!
Great tutorial all in all and I have subscribed to your site. You should invest in a headset microphone. At times 2:26 through 5:08, you can barely be heard. I love my GR 55! IN comparison to my GR 20, its like playing with toy cars to driving real ones.
hello Kenny, I cannot change the patches of the Gr55 with the two buttons (Up & down) of my Guitar Godin Multiac SA Nylon. I do not understand why.. can you give me some advice? thank you. Phillippe
This really opened up the gr-55 for me - thanks! But one thing I don't understand is the expression pedal setting at 9:58 - when I go into Master > Pedal GK CTL > EXP, I only have ***system*** and I can't change the settings at all... when I open the system tab > Pedal GK CTL > EXP, I can change the settings but it doesn't seem to act as I want it to: when I turn off the pedal, it turns off everything including the modeling tone? What am I doing wrong?
I want to change one of my GR55 piano tones to do guitar type bends instead of having it suddenly change notes 1/2 way in between while doing a bend, how do I do that ? I saw a video on how to do that but there's so many on here I can't find it now :/ Do you understand what I'm asking ?
Hi ! in 1:28 - when I press the exit button it still change the preset as if I press the enter key. Why is that ? Sometimes I enter this screen, try different sounds but eventually don't want to change the original sound, but I can't cancel. Is there a cancel operation inside this screen ? U have great tutorials man !
Hey Kennis, I've watched all the reviews you've done of the GR-55 and I think they're all great, but could you do one of the Godin xt SA? Thanks and blessings
Thanks Kennis, Wouldn't it be a great idea if roland bought your services and shipped your videos on a free DVD with their product?. I could see sales soaring if they were played on a music shop plasma screen.
Hi can you tell me if the guitars actual sounds from the pick up go through the Gr 55 so you can use it as an effects rack for your telecaster for example. Another way to ask this i guess is does the guitar's pick up sounds go through the 13 pin connector? thanks
hi, hope u can help..i want the patch that have a guitar sound is out from the guitar out and the other patch that have pcm tone out from keyboard amps. i have set my guitar out setting to modelling or both but i cant edit the modelling guitar with the effect such like amps, mfx, mod, etc? i just heard the only modelling guitar sound. without any effect in there to add. i have tried to change the structure of the effect in the edit page but it still cant add the effect sound to my modeling guitar. can you help? thankshow to connect and setting it? please help. thanks
Hello Russell, I want to ask somothing. When you turn on the model and play, the songs go out, but here with my guitar and gr-55 I can't hear or the Model does not sound, it's muted or something I don't know. Is there a problem with my guitar or the gr-55 ??
@kennisrussell Yeah look up vguitar forums and go to the gr-55 area and they have a patch area in the forum.. You gotta become a member but its useful. The gr-55 patches are still real meager online and it seems your getting some good sounds and are editing them well. i'm sure people would be blessed by some of your patches. Thanks for the vids anyways real helpful.
At 7:34 my gr55 says ***System*** and nothing else I got this far creating the patch and stopped, my user patches are not saved, I have a godin Acs-sa and I set it up with the Rmc pick ups, should I reset the whole unit?
please Kennis can you make a video (how to download patches for the GR 55 )from the begining to end, step by step; THERE IS NO ONE IN YOU TUBE. Many people will be grateful. thank you.
You DON'T go to a matchless drive amp with a lot of gain using a rickenbacker with the combi: front and rear pickup's. Then you don't know how to make a sound with only a guitar and an amp...

I agree with yellowsub1967 100%. You make it easy to follow the navigation between the menus and submenus. Great work!

Hey Great vid! Do you post any of your presets or patches anywhere online?

InspecteurClouseau just found out the solution - after viewing your "GR-55 system settings part 4" :)) zank you!

C'est vraiment nécessaire

Can you go midi out of the GR 55 into a midi in of a GR 33 and have 2 sounds at once?
Hey Kennis, I've watched all the reviews you've done of the GR-55 and I think they're all great, but could you do one of the Godin xt SA? Thanks and blessings
My question is if I have drum file on usb can I put it or I used like key board
Thanks Kennis, Wouldn't it be a great idea if roland bought your services and shipped your videos on a free DVD with their product?. I could see sales soaring if they were played on a music shop plasma screen.
Also do you need a USB memory stick for the patches to be saved?
I have seen most of your videos, I am a bit confused about the pedals, how do I assign it to a patch?

Very helpful but be careful if you are learning; learn your instrument first before engaging in this sort of technology.
