I love to visit this type of archaeological sites. It still amazes me how they could built things like that back then

I have not heard of Aquileia before but now it is somewhere I would love to go. I cannot believe how old it is and its still standing (sort of) - always impressed with your history lessons along with the amazing places you see

Thanks! UNESCO did the hard work in creating the list - all we have to do is follow it :)

I like exploring ruins and digging out historical facts. Very nice info, good editing and more than that i liked the way you presented and spoke about it.

Thanks! I try and focus on the stories behind the history, rather than the dates and names - I think that's much more interesting!

Very cool ruins. I didn't know much about Aquilea. But there just enough left of the ruins to get your imagination stirring about what the city was like in it's glory.

Yeah I found it really evocative and inspiring, especially the dockyard part - it was just so easy to see and imagine :)

I'm so glad that you always visit places that not many people hear about. It's so educational. Why Aquilea? Also - I love all the Roman mosaic tile work.

We visited since it's on the UNESCO World Heritage list - aiming to visit all 1073 sites eventually! Some days you're in Venice or Paris, sometimes you're in a 50-person hamlet in rural Poland :)

Since I haven't growm up in Europe, my knowledge about Roman Empire is limisted, but I just visited some related historical attractions.

There's an awful lot of them in Italy! Roman history is a subject I find endlessly fascinating :)

Ruins are some of my favourite places to visit, too bad I didn't get to visit these! It is true there's not much left but thanks for describing it all and painting a picture of what it once used to be like. What are your favourite ruins that you've visited??

For Roman ruins, I really enjoyed the ruins at Merida in western Spain (check my channel for a video if you're interested!). Non-Roman ruins, I loved the ruined temples at Bagan in Myanmar when we visited last year!

Some interesting facts, there really isn't much left of it is there. Its a bit disappointing the road goes over the top of the forum, just spoils it. Shame the town was destroyed and the inhabitants fled, but this also did leave the ruminants behind for us to see.

True, though I did find it interesting that it's essentially in the same spot as the Roman road from 2000 years ago! I actually found the site quite exciting as well, since there's likely an awful lot of stuff still unexcavated!

I would definitely find it very exciting to be there too, it is a shame that there is possibly so much that has not been excavated.

That music is ridiculously annoying and unnecessary.
