I want there to be a ps4 remake. But don’t change anything in the game, just improve it with quality of life changes plus, you know, HD. And I want the ps4 remake to be THIS version of the game.

God, the early 2000s had NO clue how to do nostalgic revivals. Admittedly we've still not cracked the formula but at least don't think "hey let's replace this iconic tune with a nothing nu-metal crime against music"
to be fair, it isnt really trying to be a revival, more so a rebirth of sorts. its not trying to perfectly recapture the original or replace it, its trying to distinguish itself from it while still being recognizable as having the original as its roots, be a different breed of the same animal, or a mutation of it, so to speak.
to that end, its a decent song, the lyrics arent exactly the best in my opinion, at least not in the first half, but otherwise i do enjoy it. the instrumental version playing during the final mission however is what really works for me.
as for the game itself, its honestly exactly what it needs to be. its a good evolution of a simple concept. it doesnt perfectly resemble the original due to that simplicity not being particularly befitting of a full scale adaption, that simplicity being, drive forward, shoot enemies and avoid civilians, dodge vehicles and attacks, drive into weapon van to get weapons and ammo, and thats it really, just five things. their isnt really a full structure for objectives or any sort of systems for making any sort of progress, its just an endless cycle with some minor variation. you half to add more stuff to really make it work, which the game successfully does without removing or degrading any of the key aspects of the original concept. on top of the original aspects you now have, manage vehicle health by avoiding damage, manage active weapons and ammunition for all available weapons, denote which targets are vital or optional, denote which targets are to be destroyed, disabled, tracked, protected, or otherwise, and preform necessary corresponding action for the appropriate target, either attacking , firing an e.m.p. , placing trackers, defending, find and take the correct path for the most optimal completion of each objective, avoid, destroy, or disable, traps and obstacles obstructing your path, manage your speed by slowing down or speeding up and also properly utilize the boost system to make it through specific paths and reach specific areas, collect pickups to preform specific actions or complete specific objectives, complete the primary missions, reach the end of the area to reach the rendezvous point, complete the mission in the allotted amount of time. its honestly a lot to keep track of, but when you manage the perfect run by taking all the correct paths and completing all of the objectives and escaping with the intercept in full condition all in one single run, its amazing. its a great game and the theme honestly fits with it quite well especially the instrumental version in the final mission as previously stated.
