Mike Barber in the Headrush Owners Worldwide group on Facebook asked if anyone had a Steve Hillage - Palm Trees (Love Guitar) Rig and nobody did so I made this short video on how I got in the ballpark of the sound, my version might be a bit aggressive, but that's me all over :)

Great video, I've always loved this song too. I believe Steve used a Roland GR-500 synth guitar on most of the Green album, hence the insane tones.

The biggest part of this sound for me is the fact that the delay time is cut in half each repeat. This is also the most complicated effect to reproduce as I don’t know still how this is possible. He used an electric mistress for a flanger I know. And there is a forum post from many years ago from someone who helped build his rig (or knows who did) and many rare and obscure effects pedals were listed.
