~40 days is faster return on investment than I thought; I'm pretty glad that I maxed out the Wilderness early.
Also, an important consideration: you don't have to clear the entirety of hard mode to unlock Wilderness level 5! You only need to get 330 out of (I believe) 348 possible stars. So, I was able to max out the Wilderness before clearing stages 4-21, 4-20, 4-18, and 4-11 on hard mode, and I also only got 1/2 stars on 4-6.
I have 349/330 stars. Definitely worth maxing out.
I feel like over time (in months) these idle resources seriously add up and is worth the stamina to upgrade

@@relyfealternative3736unfortunately even with the first 2 weeks grinding exp/mats first, you wouldn't be able to push limbo unless you have a really good team and you burn all those drops for stamina refill.
After all they asked you to raised 2 teams of a minimum insight 2 lv 40-50.
And those took so much resources, it probably better to take first month easy getting passive income maxed before eventually doing limbo.

Agree, so boring watching their videos, they can’t analyze the game without someone else telling them. They often say things are good or bad with no data. Another stream said don’t level up wilderness at all on like the 3rd day of launch
flooded with " complete character guide" but in the video they only read character skills description and effect that already exist in the game lol.

these past few days i was seriously thinking about the ROI on maxing out wilderness vs. farming resource stages to rush my character's levels, and i just thought i would be doomed to have to sit down and actually calculate everything myself. but... i randomly find this and you've done it so no one else has to. your videos have immense value and i couldn't appreciate them more. please keep giving us R1999 content!

Good video w/ statistics to back it up, this will be very helpful for new players. Just a suggestion, it might boost you some views if you make a dedicated discussion of each units and it's pro/con over other units.
R99 and Arknights player here, since wilderness and Arknights base management are very similar.
As long you have a proper party (I2 30-40ish) to tackle current content, you should start to invest on Wilderness since later on this will be your main source of exp and money. And later stamina usage will be used for material farming for ascending etc.
So yeah, start the investment now especially if you want to play this game on the long run.

Haven't played Arknights too often so I miss things in 2022-ongoing but I have visited it sometimes and got who I needed so probably like 2020 I might play it later more it's just burnout moment.

I was pleasantly surprised that everything i learnt in arknight apply 1:1 to reverse 1999, lol.
Especially, a certain superb, green type, low rarity, easily P6, healing related, smoll lady in a white cloth. This cannot be a mere coincidence.
And with wilderness, i am sooo happy you dont have to do multiple backflip and mental gymnastic to maximize your passive income (looking at you, sui combo) or permanently damaging your account by accidentally upgrading a certain things.
No, reverse 1999 base management is a simple "max it all" and i love it.

Interesting video. How about Wilderness buildings? Im assuming ASAP since just upgrading facilities after 6 days is considered losing resource.
I had a lot of extra stamina pots since the beginning of the game, from mail, rewards, BP, and whatever else that was expiring. I used some of it to insight 2 a few of my chars, some to resonate lvl 5 those same chars, then the rest to level paleo hall pretty well. I feel like right now there isn't a lot of "hard" content yet so using extra resources for the wilderness isn't a bad idea, especially before you end up forever putting it off for new chars. Just the way I'm going about it. :)
The only reason people tell you not to max out wilderness early is because if you are a day 1 player, there is only 4 days before artificial somnambulism rewards reset and a few more days before limbo reset on the beginning of the month. If you are not strong enough to get at least 80/100 stars on AS and clear limbo 5-1 (that 2nd stage is trash, literally), I think it's a waste to spend resources on wilderness and not on your units as you miss out on many resources rewards. And now since we have a week to 100/100 AS and until the 16th before limbo reset, I've started maxing out wilderness since monday
You need to 2-star hard mode anyway, to farm insight iii materials (and there will be lots and lots and lots of farming those later), so counting the activity spent on hard mode, as a cost for wilderness is imo unfair. Not to mention you get currency for summoning after first clear, so collecting traces for lv5 paleohall is even a tertiary reason to do those.
From my calculations, at all lv6 queues & 1409 vigor (current max, gives +36% resource increase) it's 26438.4 dust daily, which is 52.88 stamina, and 9792 sharpo daily, which is 27.2 stamina. Total stamina's worth in mats daily - 80. I have no idea how much actually it took me to farm out Harvest Prime, but even taking your unfair 2300 ish at face value, it breaks even after 28-29 ish days. For anyone planning to play long term it is worth to max out asap. The sooner you max it, the sooner you will get even, the sooner you will start gaining actual free resources. And later we will get more buildings for wilderness, and better tiles, so with increased vigor in future, efficiency of resource queues will just keep increasing. After 1.1 launches, and after you swap out some blue tiles for new gold tiles, and add new 1.1 buildings, the time to get even will already have lowered.
once you get to i2 40ish for around 6,7 units for most content, start investing to max it, since you will usually be needing to spend your activities for other materials and resources more, pneuma analysis if you want to level your psychubes, insight 3 materials, new characters insight materials, resonate materials, having a good passive income of coins and dust will be crucial to growing and its passive, early game rushing it will hurt you, but around i2 40 you should have units good enough for even limbo 15, then spending activity to max out wilderness will be well spent activities
Look like they gated the upgrade very well on your progression. You can't really just rush Wilderness and don't upgrade your char. you likely need to be I2 40 to clear all the stars.
Appreciated the good math! Unlike most people that just said Do it now or it's a trap! It's always depends on your current stage of the game.
Actually you could do it with 3 insight 2 lv 15 character to get all wilderness upgraded.
You don't have to clear all the hard stages to get 330 ★

Also remember to get your main team to resonate 7~10 it's scale with your base stat so became more and more valuable in the endgame don't worry to not have it at 15 because let's be honest only whale can reach that after only playing for 3 weeks
@@m4y013 even whale will get slow down by how many crystal casket they get. I think r7 or 9 for support and 9 or 10 for main DPS is good enough. I just finish limbo 5 with r9.

Spending all that Activity to farm Wilderness progression is going to keep you from progressing effectively. You won't be able to progress your characters fast to be able to get Pneuma Analysis VII on repeat-farm every day as that will require at least somewhere around Insight II Lv.40 on one character and prehaps Insight II Lv.25-30 on two others. The Activity spent to farm Harvest Prime IV over and over, amassing to what is around 2000 Activity, could have been put into farming up Dust and Sharpodonty until you can clear PA7 and have that on a daily farm. After that, you can start considering investing into the Wilderness for long term progression, as you got two whole weeks to get teams ready for Limbo and should be able to invest into the Wilderness and your main teams for Limbo during that time.
Agreed. If you are a super casual this is fine advice, but it's completely ignoring the amount of wasted stamina that could have gone to clearing Abyss as much as 2-3 times if you just spent all your activity on getting your 2 main teams fully Simulator/Limbo ready as a priority. The hard mode traces are never going anywhere, you can always get those. You will never get a chance to get the crystals from these early Limbos back.
This 👍🏽👏🏽 very hard to try and progress also as a f2p you just wouldn’t have enough resources to both level up characters to finish story and also resources to upgrade wilderness
F2p max wilderness and at limbo 2, just build 4 units (1insight 3 eternity solo) and (3 insights 2 team). Maybe cuz I'm a CN player so I was able to minmax.

f2p here, i allready finished pnuema analysis 7 on day 5, after finishing wilderness, i think the only thing you realy need to consider is building 2 teams for limbo since that's the only content i can't reach rn
If your characters are a high enough level that you have already completed the story then leveling up the Wilderness is super easy is not a waste of resources and it's simply just free stuff

I'm a day 1 player.. I have the main building maxed out but only 3 of the 6 queues for all. Debating if I should focus now on upgrading them and found this video. I guess I should have done it first week instead of leveling chars.. while they were dishing out all the free candy.. Will I be ok if I start now to finish that up? lol please say yes! Unsure how long it would take me tho

Where do you get the item to upgrade paleohall from 4 to level 5? I amxat endgame and have finished mostly everything.. and still caNt upgrade the paleohall to 5

Rather have my limbo done and not have to dig into additional crystals just to level both wilderness and my 2 teams earlier. The trace crystals for hard modes will always be there to farm during lull periods. People saying it only takes 30+ days to break even aren't mentioning what you would be doing instead in that 30+ days since release. IE - You likely lost out on 2-3 limbo crystal farms if you could have just spent all that activity leveling your 2 main teams straight out the first week. The difference between the 4-5 level isn't big enough to justify all the activity on traces when you can get your immediate teams to clear limbo for crystals now. If not, then sure it's irrelevant.

Eventually yes. But it isn't noticeable immediately. I would say get to Limbo so about I2 Level 50 and Resonance 5/6.
Would I2 Level 50 be enough to clear all limbo stage?
@@Inzesuru No, stage 5-2 is basically a stat check set at I3 level 20. There are 2 enemies and each hit twice per turn. Maybe if your optimized level 9 resonance and good rng. But have 2 weeks until reset sure you can get a team buffed enough by then.
I dont understand what you said about "losing resources" and 6 days. But what i got is that both lvl4 and 5 townhalls will ROI in 25days.
It is a bit difficult to grasp ngl.
Basically if ur queues stay at lv5 instead of 6, you lose out on dust and sharpos worth ~20 activity. To get all queues to lv6 though, you will beed to spend around ~1200 additional activity. yada yada math and if you would spend these 1200 on sth else instead, the first 6 days you would still have more resources worth than if u would have leveled the wilderness queues.
What makes this so difficult to grasp is, u have to spend these 1200 anyway on Wilderness somewhen. the only question is: WHEN.

Maximizing in a game that has no NO SOLO RAIDS, NO GUILD RAIDS, NO RANKING in PVP or PVE. We need patch 1.4 NOW or most of the players will quit in 1 month.

I think the rule is pretty straightforward: rush to clear Limbo early, to secure 600 gems (or at least 420 from clearing 5-1) and once you are done, THEN max Wilderness.

it only takes a little while to max it out, like mine was literally done many days ago lol, it takes shorter than what most people would think.
Well since its gonna take 23 days I can say it was worth it then, gonna be playing it even more than a month
Since the data this time is way harder to swallow and interprete correctly, let me give you short version here aswell:
Within the first 6 days you are still not losing out on resources, compared to if you have had leveled at that point. HOWEVER, that does NOT mean you will not lose out on any gain, cause you are, which is exactly the ~20 activity or 40% mentioned in the sheet.
should i max out or should i keep it at lvl 5? its kinda costly to max and the diffrence that shows in the game goes from 133% to 150% like not much.

I was originally going to max out level 4 queues before watching this video but looking at these stats, it’s not worth… I’ll max out my current team of 6;the hard way and then take my time to slowly upgrade.

I dont think it's fair to count clearing the story in hard mode towards the statistics. I think you have to clear a certain amount of hard mode levels anyway to progress in the story (which is otherwise locked by traces).
Then comes the 'Beginning of the Tale' tasks which also require you to do hard mode. Last but not least are the needed materials to reach higher 'insight' and 'resonate'.
All of this means that you do half of the hard mode levels for other activities and rewards anyway, independent if you level your wilderness or not.
So if your statistic said about half of the hard mode is only done for wilderness, i d agree.
Hey! I thought about this too, and my main point of thought was actually the additional rewards you get for spending the stamina on HM. However, I cleared 4 HM stages until I finished the story and that was it - I didn't need to clear more. Beginning of the Tale has no influence on the wilderness itself, but if you wanna argue that you need to spend activity for hardmodes to get the rewards, that is fair. However, it doesnt require you to clear ALL of the HM stages, I think? Currently at Act9, so if that is the case later on, I apologize!
In the end, I would argue you could reduce the 690 required activity by around 20% and get closer to the real number. But as this video is about the wilderness in a vacuum without taking other rewards or progression into account, I think for simplicities sake, it is fine as it is.

Nah, the hard mode cleasr is for the extra Hall upgrade which is a massive upgrade for the resource gain.
You still didn't count all the resources that we gather completing Hard mode. Imo, is tottally worth it doing.
Yes it is always worth doing. However, the question here being WHEN and how fast "should" one do it. sharpos and dust from HM stages are irrelevant

It's not worth it at first, you should rather spend the energy for resonance 9 for the carry, and finish the story mode asap to fully unlock the crafting thing, dust stage, and money stage. Once that's done, you can now start farming for dust, and insight 3 mats. Insight 3 can carry you so far and a much better investment -the earlier, the better!

Totally! The reason I made this video is BECAUSE there are many videos around which tell you "MAX IT OUT NOW!", which simply .. like, it doesnt matter. Wait a few days days and you only lost a few resources. It really doesn't matter that much, but if you CARE about min-maxing than you probably want to max it out soon.
@@iamrivenous Don't mind it man, as I'm all in on efficiency the video is really great (since I don't have to run the calculation myself LOL). Basically as Day 1 players, the most efficient start (Launch day) is to pause on wilderness to clear AS Surface since that resets in a few days at that time, then Limbo since that resets in a few days at that point (kinda funny now that you think about it), and now we can move on to wilderness since next reset is 2 weeks and your video kinda proves it that we're good on pausing wilderness for 6 days at least. Appreciate the detailed calculations, great video, you got my sub.
Wilderness is really good and worth the invest if you're F2P. Can't said NO to it. It will be very profitable once you max it out. every 8 hours is worth of (10 level for S2) and (5 level for S3) depending where you try to go at each level at S1,S2 OR S3. For example, I have a S2 Level 30 Cent and every 8 hours max of Wilderness income it give me a boost of S2 (Level 30) Cent to level 36, so depending where you at of your character that your building at. It will give - % out of each level. At the end of the day is a PVE not a PVP gacha so at endgame everyone will have it max out anyway. There is no need to rush but play as your own phase and make the right decision so you don't regret on losing the extra income.
