Mini GT: Let's add some chase pieces to add fun for collectors to go after and find Chase pieces: *Literally gets shrek'd out of cases before it gets a chance to be copped by collectors* I think chase pieces can be fun to hunt down. Hot Wheels, Greenlight, and Johnny Lightning chases can be hunted down in public stores. Unfortunately, not for Mini GTs, since the sealed cases end up with knowledgeable sellers who are also collectors No offense to friends of mine and sellers out there. This video just lays out the brutal fact
I'm the type of collector who really doesn't like to drive around and hunt, compete with everyone else, just to get the car I want. With the time, money, and effort driving around, I could have made more money or done something else I much prefer. The 4 chases I have were all about $45-60 USD each compared to the base price of $20 which is a 25-40 dollar difference. Worth the premium price to me.
The chase models are appeared as blister version only is exactly DUMB move from the start. Mini GT should hide the chase models in the box version will always a truly good hunt to make the collectors spend their money for
Chase pieces from any brand annoy me. “Chase” just means “Unaffordable” these days. Where I live, the Target and Walmart workers are wise, and they grab everything.
As a seller you can pick out inno64 or kaido house chases out of the box if you know where there located, it's every time the same spot and some sellers do that.. random spots in the box would stop this behaviour.
@@DrifterD Cant verify but i got around 20 kaido house models and never gotten a chase. With inno i've been able to pull a chase on matte black f40, christmas f40, australia r34 and carbon r34. Bought only 2 of each except for the australia r34 where i had to buy 3 until i found a chase. Both kaidos and innos were bought from the same distributor/resellers at retail price. I think inno chases look awesome unlike mini gt/kaido where it's just some wheel variation or ugly colow swap with zamac or whatever and in my opinion inno does the chases right where it seems to be a high possibility to pull one if you buy them unsealed.
I ordered with a friend two cases a 12 pcs Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) Z-Tune *Endgame* Australia Special Edition, both cases had the chase on the same spot. Maybe it was a coincidence 🤷🏼♂️
@DrifterD You can carefully open the Inno64 and Kaido packages with a hairdryer and closed it back. That is what some of these reseller are doing to find the chase in the master sets. With the Kaido, supposedly they come a dent or mark on the chase box, that is how reseller can spot the chase from the case.
I think you still haven"t heard how the hotwheels treasure hunts and super treasure hunts here in PH are collected by the distributor even before going to the stores hahaha they include it in their promo for selling, but then again its a good thing for us here in PH since hoarders cannot get it to jack up the prices, but then there is no thrill and excitement to find one in the wild
hi! i am from india and hotwheels mainlines just started coming back like 3-4 months ago. we got the 2024 k case a few days back, but it is only available in hobby stores. also there are only like 4-5 hobby stores/diecast stores in the whole country :( the cost of the cars has also increased terribly. in maybe 2019 a mainline cost INR 120 which is about 2 SGD. now they cost 179 INR EACH! also the pop culture series had come a few months ago. each car cost INR 550(About 9 SGD). the imported mainlines cost about 1999 INR each. talk about high prices..... man ive written a lot! also, i visited Singapore in 2021. miss the kaya toast and old chang kee curry-os a lot!
DiecastOrDie brought me here Chases have the value you *believe them to have* nothing more. Really look hard at your motivation as a collector where these super shiny pieces are involved. If the motivation is for online clout then I will say that I have a markedly different attitude. Good video, deeply appreciate the perspective about a line of product that I do not seek out. I learned a few things here
Cant blame distributors for doing this. Id do this too personally, it'd be silly not to. Scalpers wise, who hoard everything, Id think it's a slightly different thing
It’s tough honestly. I’m incredibly luckily that my hobby shop sells all mini gt chases for $35 regardless of the model. It’s a slight markup from his $12 price but he’s an honest shop that isn’t trying to steal everyone’s money.
On one hand, your problem with Mini GT chase pieces is completely valid. On the other, speaking about Inno64... I dunno man, rare or not - I would be pissed if I bought a car I wanted in this specific colour, I waited for it to be shipped, and they I unseal it and see it's a chase piece which is painted differently. I know I can sell it for higher price, but it's just a hustle I don't want to go through, because then I'd want to get the same model again! So chases in these types of high-end brands are annoying in general for me I guess
every 24 cars u buy in a box, u get 1 free chase. So u pay more for limited production for different livery not for the chase hype like in hot wheels. If you want to get chase for cheaper price, go spend 450-500 dollars to buy 1 sealed box and sell the 23 regular ones for retail price, keep the chase
I've only ever bought MiniGT from Amazon Japan; I don't expect that Japanese Amazon workers know about chase pieces. But chase pieces need to die, same as treasure hunts, I hate them. They are basically only rewards for scalpers.
and that's why tarmac changes global64 packaging to fully close one to stop things like this, also things is the chase piece color are weired and dont fit the cars, only hks gr86 chase version from tarmac that take my eyes
I don’t buy mini gt and I don’t need a chase piece that bad to pay stupid money for a toy car. If I find a chase or a super th then cool if not that’s cool too. Great video and i agree with you .
Any piece with an open blister whether it's Hot Wheels or MiniGT workers will put it aside. Workers are even being paid per month to put aside chase pieces. For us collectors, this is not fair. Will this ever change from a consumer or distribution standpoint....probably not
Being someone that always check for what is for sale, the prices are always demanding more than what the piece is worth, better have patience and wait for better.
There is a hobby shop here in aus that sells their kaido house as brand new but unwapped/opened on their eBay page. And there reasoning in the description is to "make sure customer receive the coulor pictured" in other words so you don't get the chase... Obviously I will never purchase ANYTHING from this store..
Funny story I tried to buy the standard Boss #7 190e from a stand at a race track. I asked for one and a worker just grabbed one out of a bin. Turns out they grabbed the chase car so now I have the chase car for retail.
youre still able to really find the chase car (not marked up) in mini gt boxed, not carded .. but unfortunately, some bad seller open these boxed version to find the chase, and reseal it to sold as normal piece. then the chase pieces are marked up
I'd say thats only a case with like mijo exclusive type packages otherwise we have mini GT in boxes Also being completely honest, chase pieces in high end brands like these are utterly useless, if i ever get once in a time, i'll be trade it for the original or heck even a super treasure hunt which i'm looking for unless it really fits with the casting
If mini gt put chase pieces in those normal boxes like Tarmac works, it would makes sense. But they just put them in Mijo exclusive cards which reveal the WHOLE bare metal car. I personally also don't like some chase cars since it ruin the beauty of the car in colour.
even for the mini gt kaido house, even though it uses a blind box, the chase pieces placement pattern is mostly always in the same position, almost never random, many hobby shop sellers in my country can always have chase pieces from kaido house
I’ll be honest I have straight up bought a couple chase cars from inno64 because I really wanted them to complete my collection of f40’s and skylines but I also only paid just little over double price so nothing crazy high priced
I had no idea that MiniGT does chases. Are the chases only available on the mijo blistered ones or are they also available on the boxed ones? I've only bought boxed ones where I live.
The worst thing is inno64 seller basically they all open the plastic cover to find chase piece and sold them for very high price and the regular one they sell them as new and it's open sealed by the seller😂😂😂
@@civicrider5556the chases only appear in the Mijo exclusive blister packs. The closed card box versions don't have chases at all. Unless it's kaido house in which case chases are available to all.
Very informative thank you! Question when you mentioned you can buy supers on the black market for cheaper versus Ebay, what do you mean by black market? And do you have specific sites where supers are cheaper than ebay
Mini gt are by FAR the worst at chase pieces and whats even more retarded is that their international versions which only comes in the box doesn't even have a chance of being a chase, only their blister versions lol. Mini gt could easily make chases actual chases by starting to put them in the box version and mix the packs of 12/24 they come in so the distributors cant figure out which is the chase version.
