Taking the plunge and trying out enamels was the best thing I've ever done painting wise. So easy to use and so much fun, they're like magic in a bottle!
Here from midwinter minis suggestion and the first video I watch you thin a texture paint into a glaze to replace pigments. Obviously an instant subscribe!
Wait, does Gal Vorbak base only get that look on a black primer? Cause it seems more convenient to me to spray my Techpriest Manipulua in Leadbelcher :/ help pls
You can get a similar look after spraying with Leadbelcher but it will take quite a few layers of Gal Vorbak to get it fully opaque and cover up the metallics.
Brilliant work, my brother! This Sicaran came out looking amazing! I also love the challenge of doing it with no Airbrushing and only GW products! It really makes for an accessible tutorial! Keep up the great work! ~ Wolfbrother Methos
Loved the video! Would love to see you do the same model with all the oils/enamels you want to push the look as far as you can to compare/contrast the 2.
Thankyou! That's actually a great idea, I do have a few spare Infiltrators so will definitely consider this for the future even if just for an instagram post!
lovely tutorial and explanation the only thing I might add in a small way is that you can water down your nilahk oxide to build it up slowly and get better weathering effects - it does add a good bit of time though as it takes longer to dry, but it helps you not overdo it too I've found
Is there a model range better suited to the Grimdark than the Adeptus Mechanicus? I think not!
Dark Mechanicus =P
@@jostonpowell1346 In the Grimdark all mechanicus are dark!
Great video as always dude! Cheers for the shout out too :)
Thanks buddy! You are more than welcome, you did a great job!

I really like those lower thirds that youre using for your paint colors.

Great video man!!! The mini looks amazing.
Thanks bud! I think with the usual enamels I could get it to look a bit better but for just acrylics I'm super happy with it!

I think you've done a cracking job getting the grimdark style without your usual crutches :P

I'd LOVE to see a classic stormcast eternal in grimdark style with all the enamels. Please :D
I don't have much experience with age of sigmar to be honest but this definitely sounds like something I could do!

A very good point! You come to almost glazing it in. A bit of extra time is usually worth it if it provides a better result!
so use dark colours with most bright colours faded?
Lots of dark colours and desaturated brights!
Bor 100%%% you did it again.
Thanks bud!
