Was thinking of getting this because I like the appearance of it looking like an actual console rather than a cheap TV box, plus if you have access to Emuelec download images which are compatible, you can still install and make a gamebox from scratch with this device.
I never understand why they don’t go through every game just one time edit name files and delete duplicates … it only needs to be done 1 time then you can dump it all on anything !
@@daymonharris8696 True enough but that was only effective when these things first started coming out. Now, people in this market are more likely to be aware of what they're likely to get so it would make sense to try to differentiate themselves with quality over quantity.
Because that would be labour intensive. To keep the cost of the device down, labour costs have to be minimized. Also that job would suck, I doubt they want to do it!
Yeah it's a bummer. It's not all games, just the larger games that had lots of music data. I'm planning on trimming down the games list and adding my own PS1 games that are missing the music.
I just switched out the roms for ones that did have the music. Just narrowed the list down to stuff I actually wanted to plya nd deleted things I knew I would never touch.
I've owned this console for about a month. Out of the box, my Bluetooth controllers would not work. Updating to the latest version of Emuelec fixed most of my issues with it. That fan sounds like a jet engine. Thanks for the disconnect tip! The Android side is pretty weak and the remote is only good about 5 feet away. Also, you have to remove the sd card to access it. Not worth the hassle. Overall I am pleased with it now but for the price and troubles, I can't recommend this to someone looking for that true plug and play experience. Thanks for the review.
Yeah I never bother with Android on these things. I have a million other ways to watch Netflix or whatever. Shame that this isn't just a little bit more plug and play. It could have been great with just a little bit more work. I'm still planning on using this one though, I will spend some time tidying the ROM lists and getting everything working correctly.
For the price? This is a great machine! Bought it and have loved using it so far. I am purposely using a wired controller with the system. But the controllers do work as advertised.
My NES4Pi died weeks ago and i decided to replace the Pi4 (one of the HDMI ports died) with the Super Console X. And though it isn't that powerful, it's cheaper than a used Pi4. Took me two days to port my sd card to EmuELEC 3.9. But those PS2 controllers went directly to the trash. Use 8bitdo's instead!
I wish someone would convince Kinhank that less is more with these things. If they would focus carefully on physical presentation (I'm with you on the physical appearance of these), solid firmware, polished (& smaller) ROM libraries, and sticking to ROMs (and systems) that run flawlessly, I think these would get a lot more love. That being said, I have someone giving me an old 720P television for retro gaming and this thing would be a nice fit. I like the enhanced chipset, the bezels, and the ability to tweak. For me, I'm familiar with Retroarch and I have several chinese handhelds so I'm comfortable with tinkering on something like this to get it where I want it. Considering there's also a coupon available on Amazon (US) I think I might actually pull the trigger on this one!

It continued to open when I selected the emulator from the game settings. I didn't use any emulator settings before. Just the neo geo console is generally broken. I fixed it, but in general, how can I set it as the default from the emulator to the emulator named mini geo? Is there anybody who has an information.?
why would you be carrying your console while your climbing or running. also falling from a height while climbing i think your console would be the least of your worries.
Hmmm, hard to call the shots on this one, it wasn't a f this thing but it wasn't a great review ether, but depending on price I could buy it just as a display in the game room. Do we really ever grow up? 😂
I unplugged my fan. It thermally throttles easier but only when you're really pushing it, I use this mostly for lower end systems and there's no problem running without a fan for those. It doesn't make much of a difference in the big picture.
When I accidentally press the L3 key in CPS2 games, I am directed to the game settings. The game has to start from the beginning. How can I replace this key with the r3 key? I don't know the name of that setting. (Süper console x nes / cube)
If you open up the retroarch settings (not sure what the hotkey is, but probably select + A) you can go to the 'input' settings and change that key binding to something else (or nothing).
I actually need an option that indicates that the l3 key is assigned to the game settings. This way I can turn off the option and fix it. If I cancel the L3 key, I cannot open the retroarch menu. Because it opens when l3+r3 is pressed at the same time.
I have the cube x3 and I can confirm it's great for ps1 and under but it's super jank and the controllers they send to you are ass. Lol overall I'd say it's worth $100 so imo it's a bit overpriced.
Honestly this just falls again into just building your own emulation system and dumping your own Romset....super console x have been pumping out the same thing over and over and over again..... If you ask me majority of these things run the same.....
yes LT...the NESPi cases are better quality and design...these Kinhank mini emulator boxes are Mirror image of the official Nintendo mini classics...the black strip is on the opposite side...which annoys my OCD...i have genuine Nintendo and NESPi versions of them...i wouldn't buy these X cubes...but they play ok...if you're not bothered about details...he should fit a smaller fan too...we use 1 inch fans (30mm)

why would you be carrying your console while your climbing or running. also falling from a height while climbing i think your console would be the least of your worries.
It is NOT cheap. The prices are creeping up and they are just not worth this money.
It's a rasberri pi 4.
That's all.
Hi.
Yo
What kind of a way is that to cut a sandwich......you monster.
Thats a lot of holes
Need lots of holes to accommodate lots of dongles 🤔
Hmmm, hard to call the shots on this one, it wasn't a f this thing but it wasn't a great review ether, but depending on price I could buy it just as a display in the game room.
Do we really ever grow up? 😂
It's a good looking little unit, I'll give it that. I'm planning on tidying up the rom library and making this my primary TV emulation device.
@@TechDweeb right on!!!
There an way to make the fan quitter
I unplugged my fan. It thermally throttles easier but only when you're really pushing it, I use this mostly for lower end systems and there's no problem running without a fan for those. It doesn't make much of a difference in the big picture.
@@TechDweeb what size fan is inside that device do u kno
Hee hee gigglebyte
Because it opens when l3+r3 is pressed at the same time.
does anyone have a copy of the games? my sd crashed and i need a copy of the rom card!
I have the cube x3 and I can confirm it's great for ps1 and under but it's super jank and the controllers they send to you are ass. Lol overall I'd say it's worth $100 so imo it's a bit overpriced.
Lddddr3😂 Great content.
TechDweeb: Come for the Dweeb, stay for the D's
Honestly this just falls again into just building your own emulation system and dumping your own Romset....super console x have been pumping out the same thing over and over and over again.....
If you ask me majority of these things run the same.....
So true
Oh my, classic terrible Brazilian Portuguese voice acting 😅"O que é isso??" 9:54
You're saying " giggle byte" , it's giga byte.
🤯
Thats so dumb, that the PS1 games no music. I have over 600 games on my retropie and all the music for every game is there.
Phgawd this person came up on my suggested feed again
Looks really cheap and nasty that fan would do my head in.
I like the retro flag case's.
yes LT...the NESPi cases are better quality and design...these Kinhank mini emulator boxes are Mirror image of the official Nintendo mini classics...the black strip is on the opposite side...which annoys my OCD...i have genuine Nintendo and NESPi versions of them...i wouldn't buy these X cubes...but they play ok...if you're not bothered about details...he should fit a smaller fan too...we use 1 inch fans (30mm)
