If Richard Petty, David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, or DW didn’t need a spotter for most of their careers then I say we don’t need em now. I want to see the best racers & I also want to see real stock paneled bodied cars with factory based engines like what Gen 3 on back were & not the most money, best equipment or best “charters” Nascar has turned into
IROC didn't have spotters but they had mirrors. But nowadays it wouldn't fly. Getting rid of the cameras is a start. The next is softer setups Landon mentioned in another Money Lap episode and softer tires. Unfortunately, in terms of racing quality the endless and expensive pursuit of aerodynamics has jumped far ahead of bringing it back and ruined racing as a whole IMHO. Unless you start banning stuff left and right. IMHO the only thing on a NASCAR racecar should have a rear spoiler and nothing else. No splitter and no diffuser. Send the boys out there and see who has it.
So instead of removing cameras, spotters, add mirrors and whatever we want to come up with as a "fix", how about we fix the piece of shit car? This car is absolutely worthless.

Certainly true in terms of aerodynamics, as Parker says(and i'm sure others do to) "We can't unlearn the advantages of aerodynamics"
No spotters at Daytona or Talladega, nobody would finish the race lmao! Winner would be last driver on the track
did they have spotters in 1959 when daytona opened ? i am not sure they even had radios
