Hi 👋 from U.S.A!! THANK YOU!! For 7:02 with 1956 General Motors and E.M.D. Famous "AEROTRAIN", the 2 Experimental Prototypes of the " TRAINS OF THE FUTURE!!" They were used for special runs all across the U.S.A., from New York to California. Then in 1958 they were bought by the ROCK ISLAND RR for local commuter trains from Chicago West to Joliet, and other cities. But Sadly, there were numerous design defects that caused their Failure. Like the Diesel engine named the L.W.T.12, had only 1200 h.p., but only 2 traction motors on the forward trucks, but obviously it should have had 2 truck frames, and 4 motors at 500 h.p. for a total of 2000 H.P.!! ALSO, the 10 coaches were designed with components from the G.M. City buses. And the coaches had only air-bags for suspension, but there were leaks and problems. And "AEROTRAIN " was supposed to run at 100 M.P.H.!!! But sadly the bad air bags and other problems limited it to only 60 m.p.h. They only lasted until 1966, when Diesel 2 and 2 coaches were donated to the NATIONAL RAILROAD MUSEUM in Green Bay Wisconsin, that is also famous for the GREEN BAY PACKERS FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE N.F.L.!!!!! Also the NRRM used the Aerotrain coaches to give tourists rides around their small circular track, and pulling them with a small 20 tonner Plymouth Co. industrial switcher Number 702 that also broke down in 1987 and then scrapped in 1997 by the strange new manager and board members who didn't want to repair 702. Yet in 1987 the NRRM was donated a much larger ALCO S-3 1953 Diesel switcher, but also broke down after years of lack of maintenance. And they also started using the larger standard guage coaches from many various railroads. Also they received a 1968 E.M.D. switcher of the SW-1200 Series. Yet the AEROTRAIN Diesel and coaches were parked inside the large MCCORMICK PAVILLION for 20 years, until now in April 2022, when they were moved outside again temporarily, in order to switch around other various passenger cars trapped behind it. Luckily I was able to get some cell phone photos 📸 of Diesel 2 outside!! Also back in 1966 Diesel 3 and 2 coaches were donated to Saint Louis, Missouri, and the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF TRANSPORTATION, that has almost 3x times as many trains, and other pieces like airplanes, and antique autos. I hope that you can visit Green Bay, and Saint Louis, and we will see the AEROTRAINS, and other trains, as part of the tour group!! And watch the videos here on TH-cam!! 😀 WOW!!!!! THANK YOU!!
