Just passed my drivers test and my dad passed this car down to me, except it's the dark green color. Runs great, and never had a problem besides flat tires, which isn't the cars fault
That is very true. We always try to do our own maintenance, whether it is mechanical work or cleaning. But with the newer cars that is not always easy. That is why I bought the AMC; no complex electronics! :D
I just bought a 1998 s70. One owner (middle aged Asian lady), full service history, 96k miles, $3000 Australian dollars. I'm going to pick it up some time this week. Hopefully I can get at least 10 more years out of it.
I just bought a red 1999 s70 GLT for 600 euro from an old man who needed to sell it quick to afford some other things. 4 owner car with full service, 32000 km. They are really nice car but originally i was looking for the T5 or 2.5T versions, but for that price i couldnt say no.
Definitely a fact and truth, for the durability better do not take a volvo with Turbo, at least when there is a petrol engine, you want the Diesel D5 yes then you really do not want a turbo.
@civildefencehugefan You know nothing about what it means own or ride a Volvo so please don't say anything because BMW and Mercedes is overpriced and people still go rush and buy them, Volvo is in a whole different league.
the 98 is the s70 you want...after 99 the throttle control became electronic and a total night mare !! v70 trans burn out same with the s60 and the s80 pops head gaskets... if you in the market for a Volvo get an 850 or first yr of the s70 and they have a cable to the throttle body no electronic crap that breaks !!
amazing handling, great quality, and an amazing exhaust note+a backbreaking ride (new orleans) Screw struts, double wishbone is where it's at-it's only bad in the front.
Got my Volvo s70 2.5 Diesel 2000 home yesterday, works perfectly! Does anyone know from where i can get a Catback exhaust to it? or just a whole new sport exhaust pack to it? From Europe, since i live in Finland too.
Order the parts you need in Germany at a Volvo dealer, in Germany the parts prices are favorable for Volvo I have experienced, I live in the Netherlands.
I just got the exact same, dark green, with the exact same features (including sunroof) except TRACS. Also says GLT but it is a 2,5T 193hp. I live in Sweden and it is an import. In Europe GLT is 170hp version.
My dad got this from a co-worker for $600 bucks for my sister. She blew the cylinder head. $700 to my Grandpas machine shop. Best first car for me might buy in brand new volvo in the future.
@TheWarmplate Old volvos are cheap and great cars, you can find a nice one here in sweden for 10-15 000 SEK (not sure what usd vs sek is now but say 7-900 usd) =) Although new volvos are expensive as hell, its better to wait 2-3 years and buy then, still a great car to drive and ride in... but i rather keep my oldie =)
@Caffiend160 I believe it's Fly to The Stars or something related to that... It's a fairly new song, so it'll be played frequently. I'm not that sure, good luck!
Some people don't drive as much as others. On top of them our 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan is going to hit 84k miles soon and our 2008 Chrysler T&C has about 24k miles. We definitely love to rack up the miles haha.
@TheWarmplate Very true it's not so much the price it has more to do with people wanting to buy status symbols to look good and for a lot of people Volvo does not have enough prestige, Which is b....... because are much better cars then say BMW.
Great Video Kyle. Could you do a detail video of a 2000-2010 ford ranger. All i saw on your channel was a test drive at night so i couldn't see much. Thanks
You were doing well until you turned the atrocious music on... and left it one while doing your review. Don't fancy the idea of being able to get into the trunk via the passenger compartment, or the power trunk release.
Darude-Sandstorm. Heck this video is 10 years old and that comment was popular back then. Mubzi it's definitely not turn of the lights. That's like saying it's the light's turn to play a card or move their piece on a board game. It's All of the Lights by Kanye West. An iconic rapper who is hated by the black community (except me) because he endorsed Trump. It's SO embarassing how they just assume all the blacks will vote for them. If you're black and reading this: USE YOUR OWN BRAIN TO PICK WHO TO VOTE FOR! DON'T VOTE FOR SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ON TV (who usually knows nothing about politics like Lebron, Kanye, Taylor Swift, various actors, etc... they're all idiots who are good at one thing. Singing, acting, sports, etc... they know nothing of the real world struggle and are just trying to sell to more people). As the white folks say, "WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE! QUIT BEING BRAINWASHED BY THE MEDIA AND CELEBRETIES."
Horn is actually slightly deeper tone in real life. It's a horn that says, "Get out of my way, I'm a real man! Chick magnet coming through. Keep a close eye on your girlfriend."
I have found this car used, and I am wondering if it'd be worth it to buy it or not. It's going for $675 and has 184k miles on it. Would that be considered too high, or no?
1:42 "i slapped my girl, she called the feds" lmao
Just passed my drivers test and my dad passed this car down to me, except it's the dark green color. Runs great, and never had a problem besides flat tires, which isn't the cars fault
That's awesome man! These are nice cars!
Прекрасная машинка !!!!!!!
That is very true. We always try to do our own maintenance, whether it is mechanical work or cleaning. But with the newer cars that is not always easy. That is why I bought the AMC; no complex electronics! :D
You will LOVE the way the engine sound....
I always liked these. Don't know why though :P

MtotheM those engines are plenty powerful enough and way more reliable than the t5. Yours has a low pressure turbo
Definitely a fact and truth, for the durability better do not take a volvo with Turbo, at least when there is a petrol engine, you want the Diesel D5 yes then you really do not want a turbo.
@Cakerolled It's been 9 years, how's the car now
Wow, its a '98 and it has just over 100k miles? Thats pretty good
Mines got 108k and 20 years old now 😍😍
It'd be a perfect first car!
I love volvo's! Thanks for putting this up kyle!
@civildefencehugefan You know nothing about what it means own or ride a Volvo so please don't say anything because BMW and Mercedes is overpriced and people still go rush and buy them, Volvo is in a whole different league.

5 years later i still agree but cant find a s70 under 180-230K....now
wanted this EXACT model as my first car soooo bad.
you got it yet
The 1st year and best year of the S70. Great looking car!
absolutely true, the S70 and V70 classic is the BEST Volvo ever built by Volvo and a very durable reliable car.
I have the same car, it's my first car and i feel really safe in it. It's a huge boat! mine is the same year with under 70,000 miles on it!!
Do you still have it. Would you sell it?
I got this car as my first car too!! Mine is gold color. I feel so lucky :) mine had three previous owners and only had 49k miles!!!
Maybe turn off the radio while trynna review a car
amazing handling, great quality, and an amazing exhaust note+a backbreaking ride (new orleans)
Screw struts, double wishbone is where it's at-it's only bad in the front.
@TheWarmplate Here in Sweden Volvos goes for a dime a dozen :) Very cheap and very nice cars!
Reely Beutiful Car
Nice car. Old school car from the time when you're driving the car, now cars driving you. No beauty in that for shore.
I have this exact car and it has just over 44,000. Bought it from a lady that never drove it. runs like new.
Kanye West’s All of The Lights being on the radio is such a time capsule
My 1986 AMC Eagle has 87k miles and my dad's 1957 Chevrolet 210 has 63k miles. :)
Also, the 5 Speed T5's are AMAZING
Got my Volvo s70 2.5 Diesel 2000 home yesterday, works perfectly! Does anyone know from where i can get a Catback exhaust to it? or just a whole new sport exhaust pack to it? From Europe, since i live in Finland too.

B-E-A-utiful! I looks new:) Volvo 4 live.
This is my dream 1st car!
windsheild wipers on headlights = automatic cool factor.
The color is (pale white) ? It looks dark white to me.
I just got the exact same, dark green, with the exact same features (including sunroof) except TRACS. Also says GLT but it is a 2,5T 193hp. I live in Sweden and it is an import. In Europe GLT is 170hp version.
TURN THE RADIO OFF!!!
My dad got this from a co-worker for $600 bucks for my sister. She blew the cylinder head. $700 to my Grandpas machine shop. Best first car for me might buy in brand new volvo in the future.
impressive car
Do the wipers even work??
Great vid as always Kyle! Those older Volvos are cool!
@stephenthabeast Unfortunately those motors die all the time. They're a pain in the ass to change....at least the drivers side one.
@TheWarmplate Old volvos are cheap and great cars, you can find a nice one here in sweden for 10-15 000 SEK (not sure what usd vs sek is now but say 7-900 usd) =) Although new volvos are expensive as hell, its better to wait 2-3 years and buy then, still a great car to drive and ride in... but i rather keep my oldie =)

should have washed the ashtray and you didn't mention if the a/c worked..makes a big difference
Some people don't drive as much as others. On top of them our 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan is going to hit 84k miles soon and our 2008 Chrysler T&C has about 24k miles. We definitely love to rack up the miles haha.
the 1998-2000 Volvo S70 was assembled in
Torslanda, Sweden
Halifax, Canada
Ghent, Belgium
@TheWarmplate Very true it's not so much the price it has more to do with people wanting to buy status symbols to look good and for a lot of people Volvo does not have enough prestige, Which is b....... because are much better cars then say BMW.
Where to plug fix findet
@Thesuperblack22 thats volvo miles in real ones its like half of that lol
To be honest, what's really the difference between the short takes and the in depth tours, besides the in depth videos being three times longer?
Great Video Kyle. Could you do a detail video of a 2000-2010 ford ranger. All i saw on your channel was a test drive at night so i couldn't see much. Thanks
my dad has a red one, with 17'' rims.. looks nice, great car, only 140 hp though, im used to my 250hp turbo -91 940 haha=)
You were doing well until you turned the atrocious music on... and left it one while doing your review. Don't fancy the idea of being able to get into the trunk via the passenger compartment, or the power trunk release.
maybe you should start taking a cd or something with you.
the green one was a lot nicer and actually had a stereo that didn't sound like crap.
First off, not a salesman. Second of all... Tell me how revving is bad for the engine.
Starbucks
i want to see the white FJ Cruiser which is on sale at All City Auto
2021 Venza
2021 Venza
@romulus219 True, but i'm sure the org. engine is in it.
That's the GLT Turbo model.
Well it does say that on the back. I thought they had rear spoilers though...
I can tell. That means you and your family loves your cars and maintain them well
Didn't even hear it start.
omg it sounds too much like the audi quattro.WANT
@RetroGamerVX Lmaoo, prime example. What model is it
@falaqdad15 This is a low-pressure turbo model.
636
4:59
Is it for sell. But I need it dash board and the interior items to fixe mine how can I get one.
Emmanuel Darko yes
Have you tried the internet?
My aunt has the wagon version of this car.
@brothez024 You Know it! I'm Picking One Up This Weekend! :D
@Thesuperblack22 Yeah, but the real question is how many engines has it had during those 100K miles.
romulus219 pfft. My xc90 has basicly the same 2.5 w 270k original drivetrain. Those 5 cylinders are bulletproof w timing belts changed every 100k
@nhegui sorry, its a silver one...
@Thesuperblack22 It's a GLT.
Have this car the seats are so idiotic and huge
They don't go back far enough, but my leather seats are amazing for 1998.
190 hp? mine has 168 hp
the radio station: always so hard to find
Anyone know that song at 1:31?
+Marcus Källvik turn of the lights
Haha, its 'all of the lights' by kanye west. turn off the lights is funny though
Darude-Sandstorm. Heck this video is 10 years old and that comment was popular back then. Mubzi it's definitely not turn of the lights. Review the t5 version
looks great!
What is engine size is it?
i luv that horn!!! 0:57
Horn is actually slightly deeper tone in real life. It's a horn that says, "Get out of my way, I'm a real man! Chick magnet coming through. Keep a close eye on your girlfriend."
Thats crazy nice
nice car
those inline 5s sound awesome
I have found this car used, and I am wondering if it'd be worth it to buy it or not. It's going for $675 and has 184k miles on it. Would that be considered too high, or no?
Jukle0 no mileage is too high for a volvo...they can run forever
184000miles? Man man that is just ridden for a Volvo S70
Sounds right ..its a great car I have one just like this.
Volvo 4 life
mine is manual lol fml
What're you talking about??? Having a manual makes you connected to the car like Avatar
xd
the engine on that car sounds like s...
You know you don't have to leave that crappy music on for the whole video. We get the idea.
I bet this car has better build quality than all the current American cars
absolutely true, the S70 and V70 classic is the BEST Volvo ever built by Volvo and a very durable reliable car.
