Fingers crossed for a quick component swap and good to go!

Same here. I already replaced the suspect components about 40 minutes ago, so I'll be able to test it in about 9 hours.

@@valrabellkeys9867 Here's hoping for another video in the next couple of days with the newly refurbished and fully working controller!

@@valrabellkeys9867 Oh no! Well, *that* sucks. Or, as the Scots would say (at least according to comedian Fred MacAulay): Fuckin'... BOOOO! 😂
I will continue to keep all digits crossed that you figure out the issue soon!

wonder what it sounded like when it was installed on an actual siren, with all this dying stuff.

This specific board was actually fine when I got it. But after a while in storage, something(likely a capacitor somewhere..) passed away. That's just the nature of these old electronics.

Maybe it's the amplifier's coils coming loose? I mean, that is what's making the sound audible.

It has nothing to do with the amplifiers. It's across all amplifiers and also translates to flickering audio lights. It's almost certainly an issue within the analog power board, which I'm still figuring out.

My gosh. What happened to it?

Fairly sure a couple of capacitors (C33 and/or C34) in the power circuit with U20 bit the dust. It's been like this for a couple of years but I'm only just now getting around to it. I work on electronics for a living so it should be pretty trivial if Tyler and I am correct.
