Random clips of Rubin's life from 8 weeks of age to 14 weeks, including his first bath, first KONG, his first ride in a car, and his first tricks. Also some dancing.
I have 2 big Dobermans and my female just had 5 pups which we are keeping 3 they are the best dogs ever and very smart....definitely part of the family 😊 good job with Rubin he looks great 😊
Jean Field congratulations on the new litter! They are the best dogs ever in my opinion. Rubin and I have a connection where sometimes words aren't needed...he is just there perfect dog for me. That said, God bless you...I'm not sure I could handle 3 of them...lol. :)
I asked my dad if I could get a dog (a Doberman to be specific) and he said no. I asked why. He said and I kid you not "Ever since Beverly Hills Chihuahuas, I've been scared of Dobermans"
Tiffany Metropoulos Whoa! 17 years? That is AWESOME! They are a wonderful breed. ...very loving and loyal. Great family dogs. I can't imagine life without my Ru-boy. Thank you!!
Yeah, he's 5 months old but he's only 33 lbs. the vets say he looks muscular and healthy but I'm worried he'll be pretty small. I want a big dobie for protection.
Michelle Ramirez a lot of Dobermans are late bloomers. Rubin was scrawny until he reached 2 years old, then he started filling out. As long as he's healthy, I wouldn't worry too much about it. :)
Reminds me of my red Doberman. I cried for a week when he died and I was raised men don't cry. I couldn't leep mine put of the swimming pool. You would think he was a fish
I wish I could have seen my doberman at that age. We found her on our porch on a 0 degree night at only 34 pounds. She now lives with us and she is a hefty 73 pounds and thinks she is a lap dog. (reference, she was between 4 to 5 years old when she showed up on our porch.)
I just rescued my 2nd Doberman, a Red male just like your guy :) though hes a bit bigger then i expected at 100lbs at 16 months, and a lot to handle! I dont think i could have went through the cropping, they were already done when i got Doc. I love dobermans though!! and you have a beautiful pup :), Doc is still a puppy, which is good and bad with his weight size lol
first dobie? Ruben is a good looking dog. I've learned over the last 20+ years there's a difference between the reds and the blacks. the reds are a little on the wild or raw or unrefined side but make up for it in character. they're also more open to affection or maybe more affectionate. I think they're all open to affection but when the petting and scratching stops, the black dobies are more likely to go lay by themselves while the red ones will stay in the pile ..lol (currently I have 4 , down from 5 last year). I'd say the red males are as affectionate as the black females. anyway.. thanks for sharing this video.
If one more person says he’s cruel for docking the tail, I’m gonna scream. Dobie tails are whiplike and thin to the point that they easily break. It’s more painful to break your tail repeatedly than have it removed before you can even feel it because there are no nerves there.
Just today I saw a dog on the street, then all of a sudden it started moving and I got out of the truck and played with the dog. I thought it was a Rottweiler but it was a Doberman. Tomorrow we're going to find the owner, but I hope they give it to us, I really like it.
thanks. Very cool that you are getting a dobie. Dobies are extremely smart which is cool, but it can also be a lot of work. They need constant physical and mental attention. Rubin and I go for bike rides, walks, or to the park EVERY day. If you dont spend a lot of time with them, they will get bored and become destructive..so their intelligence can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. Not the dog for people who do not spend a lot of time with them. I will help with any advice you may need.
Thanks. Ear cropping cost between $300-$600. Make sure you find a veterinarian that has experience with ear cropping and ask to see their work before you commit.
@AutotexTV haha, the lamp shade is gone...he only wore it for a little over a week. I dread getting him neutered, just because he has to wear that thing again.
@BamaBill67 Thanks BamaBill! Just had the installed... So how is the mood in Arkansas this week? a lot of people moping around after their dreams were crushed?
I raised Dobbies for years. You should add a pad inside his ears to help support his ears till he gains better muscle strength. There are some good videos on TH-cam that shows this. Best dogs ever. They love kids & great family dogs. Good Luck, Vinny
Leo Williams Congratulations! They are a bit of work as puppies, but man...they're so worth it. My advice for housebreaking is to take the puppy outside to pee/poop every few hours. Take them out every time after they wake up, take them out after they eat. Go to the same place and give them a queue like "Go pee pee". When they do pee/poop, give lots and lots of praise. "Good Boy!" etc. maybe give them a treat. If an accident occurs inside the house, do not scold them...dont offer praise, just clean it up. Doberman's are very intelligent. Your pup will pick it up after a week or so. Remember, it's never their fault if an accident occurs. Take them out pretty much all the time and soon, you will see them hanging around that door every time they need go.
Rubin is 2.5 years old and he weighs about 90 lbs. Check out my channel for his more up to date videos. Thanks for watching. ...also...you should get a video of your 7 month old.
Beautiful pupp! (: I'm getting a blue doberman puppy in about two weeks he will be 10 weeks old when i pick him up. I'm so excited! Can you give some helpful tips? I did a lot of research is told that dobes are extremely smart.? do you think so how fast did he learn the things you taught him?? ive never owned a dobe before but ive grown up with dogs never once in my life i didnt have a single dog. so i do know how to take care of dog :)
Repetition...repetition...repetition. Take the pup out to pee/poop where ever you want them to go every day all day...when they wake up from a nap, take them out. After they eat...take them out. Every other hour...take them out. Keep doing this over and over ...make sure you offer praise to them when they use the bathroom. Never scold them when they make accidents in the house...its NEVER their fault..only the owners. It just takes being persistent and consistent. They will learn in a week.
Dobermans make great dogs. They are very loyal and smart. You have to provide them with plenty of attention and exercise. Owners who do not have an active lifestyle will probably not do well. Rubin needs at least 1 hour of exercise every day in addition to mental games such as tricks or playing games like hide and seek etc...
besides the look is there a reason for cropping the ears and docking the tail? been looking at dropping the 1000$ to get one but wanted to ask. if there isn't health reasons I'll leave him be
There could be less ear problems with infections health wise but normally it's just the owners preference and breed standard for show dogs. So it's up to you!!
Also with the tail most all breeders in the states do dock the tails at puppyhood but you could potentially ask to not have it docked. Personally I think they function just fine with a docked tail and I think it's quite cute. So you'd have to look into the tails.
Hi, I trained him. There are a lot of very good dog training videos on youtube. Dobermans are very smart, so it doesn't take much. Rubin makes me look much better than I actually am...
Hi i adopted a female doberman mix puppy. She is 4 months and a half now and she is weighing 33 pounds now and is at least 14 inches tall at the withers. Do you think this is a good size for her or is she too small?
Such a handsome boy :) Do you ever get snarky comments from people about his crop/docking in public? I plan on getting on dobie in maybe a year, and I would want him/her cropped and docked, but I've read that some people are super against it?
Anyone who knows me, or knows how well Rubin is treated has ever made a comment toward Rubin's crop or dock. Doberman's are a lot of work, as they require constant mental and physical attention, but they're so worth it. You will have the best friend you will ever have. They are very loving and loyal dogs. Good luck!
@barudzija7 ha...yes, I bath him now on the back porch...as he is too big for the bath tub. He hates it! I have never owned a bull terrier, but I have friends who do, and they are great dogs. I would refrain from getting a white doberman. I have a friend who is a veterinarian assistant that has one that was "dropped off" by her owners. She is very sweet, but white dobermans are products of heavy inbreeding and have many inherit health issues. Maybe get ya a black/rust doberman?

Beautiful. I love when dogs get ears cropped
I have an 11 week old dobie at home after like 12 years of waiting. Getting a doberman and bringing him to our family was the best decision ever.
Awesome! So glad to hear. Your Dobie will be the best friend you've ever had. They're very loyal and loving! Congratulations!
Rubin is SO BEAUTIFUL !!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
Pretty red. I want the exact color. Beautiful dog
I asked my dad if I could get a dog (a Doberman to be specific) and he said no. I asked why. He said and I kid you not "Ever since Beverly Hills Chihuahuas, I've been scared of Dobermans"
+Mayo Mahone That's too funny! Most Dobermans are gentle. They look mean, but aren't.
+akbrown15 how do you know that most are like that?
thrilled2beBAD A) have had a few
B) know/interact with lots @ club ;)
Gorgeous dog!!! You are blessed!

Just bought a doberman! And i cant wait to get her! I am really very excited!
Those paws are massive! You're going to have a giant doberman with you! Hope Rubin grows to be a loyal dog
Yes, he had big paws…he's almost four years old now…he's 95 lbs. He has a few more recent videos if you'd like to see.. lol… Thanks.
Oh! I didn't know! Sorry, and that's a big dobie! I'll check the videos out and subscribe!
Michelle Ramirez awe! Thank you! Do you have a Dobie?
Yeah, he's 5 months old but he's only 33 lbs. the vets say he looks muscular and healthy but I'm worried he'll be pretty small. I want a big dobie for protection.
Michelle Ramirez a lot of Dobermans are late bloomers. Rubin was scrawny until he reached 2 years old, then he started filling out. As long as he's healthy, I wouldn't worry too much about it. :)
I have five dogs, but Rubin makes me want a Doberman to go with my German Shepherd Dogs! He's got a GREAT face....Roll Tide!
When they get older don't you just love to go back and watch them when they were puppies..........
That is the most quiet Dobie I have seen. How is he so well-tempered?
Yeah I never seen a mute dog?!🤔
Very nice doberman doggy !!!!!

I’ve literally met nobody who’d give practically their child to a stranger just for playing with it.
This is a statement, not hate.

akbrown15 how long did you have to post his ears? I didn’t see any post at 12 weeks? What style crop is that?
Very cute! I have a male one looks exactly the same as Rubin when he was a pup...he's seven and a half years now :)
I have watched Roma's videos. She is awesome!
Rubin sure is getting some size to him I see.. Great vid! RTR

makes me miss the Dobies from my past. when they are that young they look about 50% paw :)
well how could i potty train them, making them go to a certain place to do there business or are they still too young

thats how they have to look like. everything else is a giant dackel
Cant figure out how he was able to eat wearing the cone. lol.
SOOO Cute!!!!! I also have one but it's tan and black and he is 4 years old
love the doberman
I just got a baby Dobie he's 9 weeks same red and rust color as your boy ... any training tips on house breaking

He's growing like a weed. Good vid.
i almost cry i love so much dobbies and rotties :)
He's a beauty! I am getting a 3 month old brown and tan doberman named Honey in 3 days! The waiting is killing me lol
Lucky you..
How is he today
where did you get his ears cropped
How much money did it cost to crop Rubin's ears?
Repetition...repetition...repetition. Take the pup out to pee/poop where ever you want them to go every day all day...when they wake up from a nap, take them out. After they eat...take them out. How long did you tape the ears for ?
is it legal in europe (germany) and how old can be al doberman to do this...? and which institut done that?
"you want some of this boy?"......that's what she said
Do you think doberman a make good dogs? I love them, and I'm trying to convince my parents to let me gat one.. Any tips? Rubin's gorgeous by the way!
I have a question... why do you crop it's ears? It's for something in particular or just because it looks better?
What was the weight at 12 weeks?
how did the ear crop go? how long were they bandaged and all in all was it fairly straight forward?
it depends on what style you choose that way the dobermans ears would be ear posting can take a year and sometimes can be even done in 2 to 3 months
I am fairly new to the world of dogs, was wondering why you put water in the food bowl?
I know this is late but it softens the food so it is easier to eat. I hope this helped you.
ima person The moment I reread my comment, I understood why. lol I had forgotten about this, I appreicate your response though. :)
Gorgeous!! I plan to get a doberman injune
thank you!

Do you pay to have him trained or did you do it on your own time.
Hi, I trained him. There are a lot of very good dog training videos on youtube. Dobermans are very smart, so it doesn't take much. Rubin makes me look much better than I actually am...
@@akbrown15 cool thanks
I WANT THAT DOBE
how'd you get his ears to stick up all the way like that. i love it
Hahaha my gf wants to dress mine up lmao
you know that a Doberman ears grow like that on their own you don't need to make his ears like that
lol no they dont....smh
Hi i adopted a female doberman mix puppy. She is 4 months and a half now and she is weighing 33 pounds now and is at least 14 inches tall at the withers. Do you think this is a good size for her or is she too small?
Hey how many months did you post his ears? He looks great :)
I live alone with my girlfriend in an apartment and the apartment is pet friendly I really want a Doberman would you recommend getting one.
is he still alive?
No processed dog food.He is a working breed.Raw diet!!!!
how long did you have to leave his ears taped up?

what happened to his ears???
I think Dobermans look better with their ears cropped. But is it a painful process for them?
If I cut a piece of yo ear off, u think it'll hurt?😑
@@pgp1232 I would never want to do that to any dog.
@@TONSBERG100 do u know why people crop their dogs ears?🤔Is it just for looks?
@@pgp1232 They do look good with cropped ears. But we should not hurt them in the proces .I thought they sedated the Doberman first.
@@TONSBERG100 they probably do sedate them, otherwise that could be considered animal cruelty if the dog is scream yelping getting its ear chopped off
the puppy should get along with any animal. It depends on how the Shitzu has been trained/raised...but they should be fine.
Where'd you get him? My mom said I can get a dobe (finally it's been four years since my last one) and I have to find a breeder
How did you convince your mom???
My mom loves Dobies we had one when I was a kid and I wanted another one so she said yes
My mom said she wanted one but she said no o,o she said that to the German shepherd thing too
is he a european or american dobe
