This was very timely. I performed my first set in a club last night on club gear. Going from a DDJ-1000 to XDJ-1000mk2. say we are using a usb to transfer the mixing to another DJ - do we just plug our usb into the other cdj while their song is playing? or how exactly do we do that? Hope that makes sense!
Yes put it in on the other side not being used, easier than you think - just make sure you run your music through Rekordbox first and if you're nervous about it ask the promoter to go in early so you can have a quick look at the gear and practise plugging in your USB and loading tracks before the event starts.
@@ClubReadyDJSchool awesome thanks for that. So say we plug our usb in while the opening DJ is still spinning, once we mix our first song in, do we then link the controllers together once the first DJ is done? Appreciate the answer!

What happens when you play a same song as the previous DJ? Should you hang around at the start of the night listening to all the DJs who have gone before you?
As i see when promoter orginizes event, logicaly they won't call guy who playees hard techno and melodic house together, I mean if they are calling you this means they know what you play and it is their sound as a venue, aswell i love to open set and finish with special tracks, So i quite don't get those tips to be honest, like if you are closing set with the track which have like farewell mood, why it should be problem for another dj?
Only a problem if you cut into you's set time or you clear the dance floor haha ;) I am glad I could help you to see a bigger picture, in ways all the DJs on a line up should work like a team to assure the event flows and the night is amazing, but this only usually happens when you have residents that all know one another with the odd guest.
