It seems a lot of the people who left reviews were angry about the large amount of pronouns and such being implemented into the game. I ask that this comment section be political debate free as this really isn't the place for such convocations.
As for the massive amount of jokes regarding pronouns. For some reason, the game really focused on the pronouns of the characters. We're talking, "instead of showing you actual worthwhile information regarding a character while you're picking them seconds from the match starting, here's their pronouns!" type of obsession. They cared more about what the characters identified as rather than... giving them actual identities and character with their designs and voicelines. Of course the enby character got possibly the worst design imaginable, legitimately what were they thinking with that cut open bucket and iron-pipe-chestplate look?
Fr, i don't see how this would be appealing to LGBT. They can give their characters pronouns, but the way they did it makes it look like they are desperately trying to appeal to a demographic in the worst way possible.

I think these character designs are ironically pretty offensive and bad. Not every LGBT character has to look like a walking stereotype. They can just be regular people. Having these kinds of character designs reinforces stereotypes and makes it MORE offensive to the people they're trying to pander to.
And on top of all that, I'd have loved to see how the game would have been (eventually) translated into languages like Italian, Japanese, Spanish... that don't really have a gender neutral pronoun 😮

I speak on behalf of all lgbt people in saying that the designs suck ass. You could change the ethnicities/genders etc of the characters and they'd probably still be bad. the generic "realistic" art style and muted colours really don't work for this kind of hero shooter

I didnt know this game existed till a couple hours ago and i tought it was a game about the battle of lexington and concord so i was over here thinking a new musket line battle game similar to war of rights got released lmao
People have only started going ham on the pronouns thing after the game already failed

I gotta love how they attempted to appeal to the LGBTQIA+ community so damn hard... Yet my enby friend called the enby character "Unironically Offensive as all hell". I need someone to grab this game and study it underneath a quantum microscope to understand how the hell you can have this much of a fumble?

I've never seen a game so effectively crucified. Generic 5v5 hero shooters have flooded the market for so long, so when this game comes out, not terrible, relatively bug free, and clearly made with a lot of time, effort and a LOT of money, but overall unoriginal, people finally snapped. Concord began development 8 years ago, around the time overwatch released, so at conception i can understand upper management seeing a gap in the market at that time. If this game came out 4 years ago, I can see it lasting at least a couple months, maybe a year, but people were just done, and decided to make an example out of this game. Will it affect how games are made? We will just have to see.

By the way, the pronoun jokes seem to come from the fact that Concord was trying to push its diverse roster as a selling point, and gamers being gamers they went DEI DEI WOOOOKE SJA;FDEIJJSDOJASDJFAIDSNGISLJ and made THAT the reason they hated the game, not because it's the most uninspired AAA slop ever.
They (Sony) made a unoriginal game and dropped it out without proper marketing advertisement and an exagerated price (while all of the conpetitors are free-to-play), no surprise that it had such a poor performance.
The saddest part is the whole woke controversy (not saying that the game devs didn't used the excuse of "inclusivity," for hiding the flaws of this game, cause it can be true as thing), cause many peoples instead of looking at the real problems within this game just jumped on that fact with the only intention of maliciously bashing against trans peoples. And that's bad actually, attacking radom peoples for just who they are will not fix the gaming industry.

7:50 I think the complaint of motion capture is that they can't change the character designs in post, since they're modelled after a real person. Not that it looks bad in-of itself.
They didn't even have an LGBTQ focus in the marketing, they just had a lot of not-white characters and a couple of fat ones

The Truth: Us men use games to escape reality and its many troubles. We don't want a Trigendered Man as a character that appeals to a very small minority (1%-12% of the gaming demographic) we want just a normal guy with some awesome lore. We don't want woke stuff in a videogame, we just want cool shite.
