I'm also an avid reader. I try to do this a couple times a year. I donate my books to the cancer center. They have a "library" and patients can take a book to have something to read while they are doing chemo.
Whoa Allie, well done on de-cluttering 141 books, that's awesome 👏🏾👏🏾!! Thank you so much for taking the time to film the de-clutter, take care and enjoy the rest of your 2023🤗💙🎉!!
I am 34 and a majority of the young adult books you decluttered I read in middle school and high school when there was still Borders bookstores around the US.
As much as I love holding a book in my hand I have to say my Kindle has been a savior when it comes to book storage. I still have the books I love and cherish in my bookshelf but am able to hold on to a lot more in digital form versus physical. If it’s something I know I’ll read time and time again I’ll for sure buy the physical copy. I still have books from my childhood at my parents house as well so I can relate to not wanting to part with anything. Anything I do get rid of I donate to my local nursing home. Loved seeing your collection and love the book content! When you don’t have as much on your TBR list I have some recommendations for you. 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Oh, I don't even want to count how many books we have. Even just fiction would be hundreds, if not a 1000. I recently picked up Tracy Wolff's Craved series for my niece and will be getting it signed for her in April when I meet the author.
You are now my favorite person. I am 20 and mainly a stay at home mom I am starting to really love books it is a little get away for me and I’m trying to expand my at home library bluebloods , beautiful creatures, the house of night series, I want so bad to have in my library slowly but surely I will have them maybe when my twins are older 😂 gonna binge watch your channel now
I DNF'd Penpal too. I agree with ur summary. Not horror and very boring. I love that u actually unhauled books and it wasnt just 5 books like some other videos. Great video!
Where I live, there are a lot of Little Free Libraries, and I usually don't pass one by without checking to see what's in there. When I'm done with a book, I usually put it in one of the Little Free Libraries. I have a lot of books that I need to get through, like graphic novels and cookbooks that I don't use. But my hope for 2024 is to read (or listen to) more books than I read in 2023. So kudos to you going through your collection. When I was younger, reading meant comic books (Archie, Comics based on Cartoons, etc.) but in my teens I started to discover books that spoke to me. "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith was the first novel that I really got into. And I've read a variety of books since (Mysteries, Romance Novels, Graphic Novels, etc.) but I believe that to get younger people interested in reading, you have to be readers themselves. And also see what might actually hook their interest. You have to get people in the church before you can preach to them.
The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) is a fairy tale retelling with sci-fi mixed in. The main characters are cyborgs and each book is loosely inspired by a different fairy tale. Imo the newer covers are much nicer.
You should totally give house of salt and sorrow a chance: it's a very easy read, it's atmospheric and creepy at the same time and the second book is even better so it's only going up !
I didn't like to read until my 20s when i got pregnant and i was tired but was never someone who could nap, so i would make tea and read. Twilight was the first book i really enjoyed reading. You are why i read Court of Thorns and OMG maybe best book of 2023! Me taking notes of books to look into... maybe sisterhood of travelling ppants for my daughter
Sweep!!! I never see anybody talk about those books, I started reading them in middle school and was obsessed! I still love them, I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of them.
Yes to books! I had a set when I was a kid that I just loved but we lost them in a housefire. It's called the Serendipity Series from Stephen Cosgrove. My own son is now 27 & I would love to have those books back for potential grandkids.
This is given me so many flashbacks to my teen reads. Some I forgot even existed. I also struggle to declutter my books. Got rid of over 100 a couple years ago and still have boxes and boxes in storage
book unhauls are definitely something I want to do more often this year. Yesterday I sorted out 13 books to donate and there are 13-16 more unread books which will also be donated if I end up not liking them. You can't really see the difference in my shelves but oh well 😅
I'm about ready to do another book unhaul too.. have stacks on the floor that need a home on my shelves so need to make room.. course I do now have a much-needed new bookshelf I still need to put together, though will likely be dedicated to all my series.. have 35 series now on my tracker 😬 most are trilogies, then duologies, then a couple with 4 books, one with 7 books, one with 8 books, one with 9 books.. and a bunch unknown since they are new/ongoing series. SciFi, SciFi Horror, Fantasy, and Dark Fantasy. And that's not counting all my standalones of all other genres besides Romance. I love books!!
Love your collection. I try to go through and get of books I never finished or lost interest in and only keep my absolute favs which is most of them. I love seeing others than enjoy a physical book as much as me. My best friend and my mom have been trying so hard to convince me to get a kindle and I just can’t. I love watching the left side get thicker as the right side dwindles, the smell, and the feel. Reading is definitely a love of mine.
@AllieDawson they were such a coveted series. I bought them all and my friends borrowed them from me. I am left with none but your video made me search for them online and the first 5 books are free on audible. I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning 📚
Love the Host. Love dystopians like maze runner and 5th wave trilogies . Also love Cinder, (lunar chronicles ) no matter what age you are it’s a good retelling of fairytales.
Paperback books can be donated to prisons/jails Kids/teen books can be donated to schools, especially if you know of any newer teachers who are looking to load up their classroom Pango Books and Poshmark are good for selling books.
You have an amazing collection! I was anxious to watch this; the idea of getting rid of books hurts my soul, 😅. But I grew up with my grandmother's entire basement being a library, and i hope to one day have my own. I am already running out of space, so I've been trying to put more on my kindle. This was good! It was also good to see our tastes are very alike!
hey! actually nightshade and its 2 sequels but if memory serves me correctly it follows calla who falls in love with a human boy (I can't remember his name) while shes supposed to marry the next alpha in line of her opposing clan while trying to figure out the mystery of the hunters and whitches I think was what they were called . its more of a love triangle. I don't remeber the ending to it but it's in my amazon account. I love this series and it will always sit with me and have a special place in my heart
I'm so grateful to have a video of yours to catch. I had to watch my cat pass away here at home around 5am. It's been a bad night/morning and needed a declutter to just have on. He was like 20 so he had a wonderful long life. But that last 4 hours... was fucking hard to watch. So thank you for a distraction. I really need to take myself out of my own mind.
i liked the movie blood and chocolate but I added the book to my wish list as well as Warm Bodies and Ink Heart [which is didn't know these two books were part of a series until i looked them up to add them to my wish list] i love watching people unhaul and reorganize their books
I think you may enjoy Philippa Gregory novels. Some of them are based on true history, like the Tudor Dynasty, while still being fictional but some are pure fiction too. I would classify them as romantic historical fiction. I'm not really into romance but her books are ones I could get into bc it's not purely about the romance. You did a great job decluttering your books. I know you hate to let them go. I also know you love having a physical book to read but investing in a kindle is really the way to go for an avid reader with limited space. I prefer an actual book too but I have limited space so I make myself read online.
Not me sitting here watching your video instead of doing my book organization that I planned on doing this week while I’m off work. Come organize mine please lol
Ironically, I also have the first 3 VA books in paperback and the last 3 in hardcover. Makes me wonder if we were reading them right around the same time!
Shatter me has a 1.5 book who is from Warner POV, the book is , and it is really good! I don't know if you've had read it 30:39💙I think in the USA you have an edition with 1.5 and 2.5 books together
i have been reading since like 2016 i have super small library so this month i decided to sell some of them because some i didn’t enjoy or don’t like that much 🤭
I dont know if you've talked about it before or if you showed it in the video and I missed it but, have you read the forbidden game series by L. J. Smith? That series is one of my favorites of all time!! So so good!! I feel like you would love it
How did you get a bound copy of Manacled? I really hope you didn’t purchase it from an seller because selling fanfiction is illegal. There are legal and ethical ways to get a bound fanfiction, i just hope that’s how you got yours.
The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) is definitely not Disney inspired. 😂 They’re fairytale retellings based loosely on the original characters from books, way before Disney picked them up.
The House of Night. And I am number four. We definitely have similar tastes in books. Except horror. No Ty. 😂 Vampire Academy and Bloodlines was one of my favorite series. It made me happy to see those in your collection! As I’ve aged (40) I’ve grown into the dark romance category as well.
Such a good idea! I love this! I have a few books I’ve never read and a lot I will never re read. I might as well donate them so I don’t keep moving with them lol
I dont know if you know the site book outlet but let me tell you they have the best prices! I have got books on there for 5 to 6 bucks and newer ones I think they are having a sale right now they are all the time having sales
I'm also an avid reader. I try to do this a couple times a year. I donate my books to the cancer center. They have a "library" and patients can take a book to have something to read while they are doing chemo.
Oh that’s a fantastic idea!
I love that! ❤
As an obsessed book lover, I really appreciate that you are passing the books on so others can have them. 😊👍👍
Of course!! I wanted them to go to a good home!
Whoa Allie, well done on de-cluttering 141 books, that's awesome 👏🏾👏🏾!! Thank you so much for taking the time to film the de-clutter, take care and enjoy the rest of your 2023🤗💙🎉!!
Thank you!
I am 34 and a majority of the young adult books you decluttered I read in middle school and high school when there was still Borders bookstores around the US.
OMG BORDERS!!! I forgot about that store! And Walden books!
RIP Borders. I used to go there weekly.
As much as I love holding a book in my hand I have to say my Kindle has been a savior when it comes to book storage. As a parent, I would urge you to eventually deal with your books at your parents' house, because that would be a kindness. :D
So surprised to see Nightshade on there! Usually when I mention the series no one knows what I'm talking about 😅
Oh, I don't even want to count how many books we have. Even just fiction would be hundreds, if not a 1000.

You are so sweet!! If you have the kindle app there are so many free books on there! Or I think they do library ebooks now!
I DNF'd Penpal too. I agree with ur summary. Not horror and very boring. I love that u actually unhauled books and it wasnt just 5 books like some other videos. Great video!
What a beautiful German shepherd! 😊
I LOVE a good book declutter. It’s satisfying and means more new books. 😂

I saved it!

Yas to books!! That was a huge declutter wow great job I know that must have been hard!
It truly was!
Omg I’m so excited to see your collection! I’m definitely going to be reading more smut and categories outside my usual fantasy novels in 2024
It’s my fave lol!
Omg the sweep series is such a throwback! It was one of my favorites growing up
I never met anyone else who read them!
@AllieDawson they were such a coveted series. I bought them all and my friends borrowed them from me. I am left with none but your video made me search for them online and the first 5 books are free on audible. I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning 📚
Wow, you did an absolutely fantastic job!
You have a really beautiful collection of books.
I love how you organized them all.
Thank you!
2:17 your dog 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Love the Host. Love dystopians like maze runner and 5th wave trilogies . Also love Cinder, (lunar chronicles ) no matter what age you are it’s a good retelling of fairytales.
I see you own the first two books in the Last Magician series! Are they any good? I've been reading mixed reviews on the series.
Paperback books can be donated to prisons/jails
Kids/teen books can be donated to schools, especially if you know of any newer teachers who are looking to load up their classroom

That’s so special, a basement library! 💖 your grandma!
I donate books both mine and my children’s to the neighborhood(s) little libraries. Which is so nice to see that they get a new home.

To say I am beyond excited for this is an understatement ❤

I love watching your content! I am also an avid reader. Did you put the unbecoming of Mara dyer on your PangoBooks?
i liked the movie blood and chocolate but I added the book to my wish list as well as Warm Bodies and Ink Heart [which is didn't know these two books were part of a series until i looked them up to add them to my wish list]
i love watching people unhaul and reorganize their books
I love all the old books! Woww! I remember a lot of them when i was young!
You should do a series like Betty-Jean, where you do a monthly book wrap up and GRWM ❤❤
Yes!!!!
Not a bad idea!!
Oh man, instead of decluttering my shelves, I just added so many new books to my tbr list 🤣

I’ve tried her long ago and I can’t get into them. I don’t care for true history novel. It’s a cool concept but just something I couldn’t get into
This was so nostalgic, read most of these series 10+ years ago. However I don´t remember what they were about almost at all.
Not me sitting here watching your video instead of doing my book organization that I planned on doing this week while I’m off work. Come organize mine please lol
everything looks great in the end!
I love Sarah Dessen too! Such memories cropping up! The movies...so good!
Yes they were!
Nice collection! I read a lot too. Enjoyed your video.❤
Ooo I love this concept I’ve never seen anyone do a book declutter!
It’s my first!
If you search "book unhaul" you will find loads on youtube.
Ironically, I also have the first 3 VA books in paperback and the last 3 in hardcover. Makes me wonder if we were reading them right around the same time!
I bet we were!!!
I’m just here waiting for your Pango books link lol I love your collection!!
I completely forgot about Sarah Dessen, I used to love reading her books
So excited about this video. As much as I love makeup, I love books just as much!!! Great video 😁
We have A LOT of the same book taste too. So cool 😁

I read blue is for nightmares in high school and I was convinced it was a fever dream because nobody remembered that book 😂

I would like to see a bookshelf tour and a dark romance recommendation video.
The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) is definitely not Disney inspired. 😂
They’re fairytale retellings based loosely on the original characters from books, way before Disney picked them up.
Loved this. I DNF’ed some of the same series you did. I feel better now. It wasn’t just me. 😂
lol which ones?
The House of Night. And I am number four.

Vampire Academy and Bloodlines was one of my favorite series. It made me happy to see those in your collection! As I’ve aged (40) I’ve grown into the dark romance category as well.
Hi Allie nice books. I hope you had a great time at Paige’s wedding and merry Christmas with your family.❤
I hope you did too!
You can donate to little free libraries in your area
Nicely done!
Thank you!
Do you know where I can find the throne of glass old coves? I’ve been looking everywhere but they are 500+

Absolutely!
If you have them in your area put them in the Little Free Libraries or donate them so others could read them.
We don’t but I will be donating to local libraries and hospitals
You have a bound copy of Manacled!!! I am so jealous!
I just hope she got it ethically. I was hoping she’d address it since she showed it multiple times.
I spy Patricia Briggs. I love her books so much
I think I’ll go through my cook books too. ❤❤
How do you remember what every book is about??
I just remember some key points for books that stood out for me
