Love these videos so much! Could you do like step by step on how you do your shift? Like 7am- report/8am meds/ 12pm meds like what you do each hour I guess if you know what I mean? 😅😅
Thank you for getting straight to the point! I start my first lpn job next week😩nervous. Do you feel like only 3 days on orientation is adequate for a new grad?
Can you explain to me how this works? Who refills the med cart? And do you just have every pill for every resident there and you have to find it and pop it or are they individually placed in the med cart? I didn’t know you can hang do IV as a Lpn?
The supervisor signs for receiving the medication from the pharmacy then distributes the medication to each floor. Whatever nurse on duty at the time of the distribution fills the carts. We have separate blister packs for each medication the patient takes and we have to pop it out. As far as IVs there are many things Lpn can do in the long term care setting. Here is a reference page from the board of nursing in my state (NY) if you want a more detailed description of what Lpns can and cannot do. www.op.nysed.gov/prof/nurse/nurse-lpn-iv-longterm.htm
I did mine in high school, so I don’t really recall. I’m not too sure if they have entrance exams for Lpn school. I know most RN programs have you take the teas
@@rachela23 LPN schools require the teas aswell, I took teas 7 in February & got accepted feb 24th 🎉 Orientation is tomorrow for the LPN cohort lol wish me luck! 😭 love your vids!
In the long term care facilities our jobs are almost exactly the same. Unless you are a rn supervisor, then you do new admission assessments and create the care plan
Thanks so much! I am new graduate LPN and I am so stressed when I think about my first job. Your videos are so helpful 👍
Thank you. Try not to stress to much. The beginning can be a little overwhelming but you will get the hang of things. Good luck
