This particular video showcases the standard EMDR protocol applied in a mindful way with a volunteer presenting with a history of complex trauma.

This is amazing, perfect for trauma victims. She had control the whole time and didn't have to disclose too much and could process the trauma by herself. Absolutely amazing. Bravo.

thankYou so much for sharing your work. i was wondering what kept you from asking what she was "noticing" after she mentioned running away being the solution. i felt like something MAJOR was overlooked
This is very standard procedure for EMDR therapy; we encourage clients to just "go with" or "notice" something so that they can do their own work and arrive at their own conclusions. "Notice" is a very open-ended word that keeps us as therapists from getting too much in the way. We only use more directive measure if the client is not moving through their own flow. We don't "explore" things like in more talk-therapy style methods unless the client is obviously stuck. Thanks for your question.
Can we get a copy of what you are writing on?
I wonder if the VOC could truly be 7, or client said it in order to appease the therapist. If the current circumstance or reality of the political climate is that there is a misogynist in power, the client may not ever reach a full 7.

I can tell jacqie is disappointed or disillusioned somehow, maybe she feels lthe realization that she alone has to do the healing, always ALONE when facing the traumatic memory
It just seems like such a lonely therapy.
Is there a reason you put your left leg (foot) over your right leg right before you ask the interview? I noticed this in other videos. Other than that, maybe a clip board would be better. This is very uncomfortable, and I am wondering why these clients would agree to having themselves videotaped.

Many years ago after some heavy trauma that put me in physical therapy for 9months. My therapist asked me to do a recording of a session with her for school. She was an intern. Of course I agreed. My information was not shared and my case was used to help other people and new therapists.
To help others? You didn't think of that as an option 😆
