This was setup using Timidity++ using two Sound font packs. audiopack-mididevice-v5 and SGM-V2.01-XG-1.18. Configure Timidity++ to use those two Sound Fonts, and then start timidity in Userland server mode. Then, in RetroArch, tell RetroArch's Midi confiiguration to use Timidity++ Midi Port 0, and in the px68k module core options, select Midi Type XG. Finally, Start Castlevania X68000 and select GS SC-55 mode.
@@ZombieRyushu I see. Thanks for the detailed instructions! I never done anything like this before but I love Castlevania and I wonder how it would sound when configured this way! I play on the steam deck so I wonder if it would be possible to set it up on it. If it works on Linux then it sjould work on the deck I guess!
Lol that looks like my Castel Vania Chonicles only with a slightly different sound^^
I prefer the MSX2 version.
I haven't played that one. I should.
How do you set up the sound in Retroarch? Do you need any external files too?

This also works for PC-9801, DosBox-X, Atari ST, and Wine and Linux games.
