ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Flaxseed For Dogs
Here's 7 reasons to give your dog flaxseed.
Number 1 is the Omega-3 essential fatty acids specifically, aid in good cell function, promoting strong cell membrane structure, improving immune system balance, improving the health of your dog’s skin and coat, aiding normal reproduction, and healthier body growth.
Number two is Flaxseed supports a healthier coat and skin. Many dogs on a kibble diet suffer from dry skin and stiff coarse coats. When a dog is not getting the proper nutrition that its body needs, it shows itself in the look of a dog’s coat.
If your dogs scratching excessively, it can mean the lipid barrier of the skin is reduced, which means the dog’s natural coat oil is depleted and your dog can run an increased risk of developing skin conditions like hot spots, mange and yeast infections.
Number 3 is flaxseed helps support joint health. The anti-inflammatory properties of Omeg-3 oils essential fatty acids, alpha linoleic acid improves mobility and range of movement to help improve dogs with arthritis.
Number 4 is flaxseed contains lignans which are antioxidants that help balance your dogs immune system and reduce chronic inflammation. Your dogs ability to fight off infection is increased.
Number 5 is flaxseed aids in healthier digestion and can help with both constipation and loose stools and you'll need to adjust dosage to find the right amount to give your dog in either case.
Number 6 is the essential fatty acid omega-3 can also aid in reducing kidney inflammation in dogs with kidney disease, by helping your dog manufacture other anti-inflammatory agents in their body.
Reducing inflammation of the kidneys helps to increase critical blood flow to essential organs, to help your dog keep lipid levels high so they can produce more triglycerides. This helps dogs suffering kidney problems, as raising their triglycerides, can help extend life.
And number 7 is flaxseed is loaded with fiber helping to improve digestion by cleaning the digestive tract. Kibble fed dogs are critically low on fiber in their diet and the fiber in flaxseed can soak up toxins while improving frequency and volume of bowel movements. This makes it easier for a dog to excrete harmful waste more efficiently.
Flaxseed is a good food to feed your dog regularly with no side effects. Ground flaxseed is best and given according to your dogs weight.
Administer half in the morning and the rest in the evening.
• In dogs that are teacup size, you can start with 1/8 to 1/4 of a teaspoon per day.
• In small dogs, start with a 1/2 teaspoon to 1 full teaspoon each day.
• In medium-sized dogs you can start with 1 1/2 teaspoons to 2 full teaspoons per day.
• In large dogs, you can start with 2 1/2 teaspoons to 1 full tablespoon per day.
• In giant breeds like Great Danes, start with 1 1/2 to 2 full tablespoons daily.
If your dog is diabetic or hypoglycemic, check with your vet before supplementing with flaxseed.

The diamond natural skin and coat all stage have this is this food considered grain free or not and do you recommend this food thank you for you information
Salmon, fish meal, potatoes, lentils, peas, pea flour, canola oil. These are the top ingredients, the third being potatoes which do not belong in dogs, nor does canola which is not a natural oil and legumes should be very limited in a canine diet (peas/lentils) The overall carbs in this diet are roughtly 45% which is high. I prefer under 10% but there's only one kibble that does that and it's premium price as you can imagine: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
Options:
Theres my ebook healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ which has the healthier kibble diet and what I recommend. Basically it's reducing the kibble in the meal and replacing with fresh food options to balance out the meal with live food (important) and reducing the carbs/additives.
@@DanScott1 thank you what about the chicken and rice diamond natural sorry for ask a lot I just want my dog to be healthy
@@DanScott1 I hear the inukshuk 16/26 is that good to or not thank you for the replies
@@chenty500 You may have missed my point. Carbs cause inflammation so keep under 10%. Rice a bad dog food. Diamond use 45% carbs. Either use it knowing you must split the meal in half at minimum and replace with fresh foods or get a better brand ie ketona but you have to pay for better kibbles.
Please answer my questions for further help options.
@@chenty500 That's still 40% carbs and you'll need to at least 50% split the kibble meal with fresh food for a healthy option.
Kibble alone does not make a good dog food, even the best option still needs some fresh food in it. Dogs need proteins for real health, it's natural carnivore law, think eggs, sardines, meats, organs, green tripe.
I'd max at 50% kibble meal, the other 50% fresh foods.
Sir, PLEASE reply my query. Can i feed my dog organic unprocessed flaxseed ? I am confused ,google says raw flaxseeds and unprocessed are not good, but organic flaxseeds are raw and unprocessed isn't it ?
Perfect, just fine ground and serve.

@@DanScott1 thank you for the reply :) bdw, actually I don't feed him kibble, instead chicken and white rice,so should i mix the flax powder with rice/chicken or water/soap ?
@@Clash-Rewind Brown wholemeal rice is better than white and then only 10% of daily food volume. It's proteins a dog needs.. meats, eggs, sardines.
I put this in my hair .. well I make a gel of it and put it in my hair .. never knew I could give it to my dogs until I saw this ingredient on the back of the new omega skin and coat chews for them .. paid all that money when the ingredients are in my pantry .. well pays to learn .. and id rather have my dog eat the real thing .. malamutes are hard to take care of but the sweetest yet most stubborn dogs ever .. we love my naughty family members .. and they eat more than my 12 yr old if I let them .. we learned real quick not to let them eat whenever they want .. didn’t know this breed won’t stop and hate to share even if full
Thanks, great story. Hands full with M's, great dogs though.

@@MandyRandyandThePuppies Glad to help.
Very useful, thank you for this video sir. Just want to ask, can they eat flaxseeds (powder/grounded) regularly without stopping?
Should be fine regularly. I do recommend fasting the dog from time to time to empty out the system and reset things as it's a good health practice with dogs. Once a month minimum, by-weekly better, once weekly best. 24 hrs water only.
Thank you very much. What about rice is rice good for your dog?
No rice is not good for your dog, not really, because it's a carb and dogs need proteins, not carbs. Proteins and fats are whats needed. Of the daily food total 50 to 60% can be proteins, 15% as fats, 10% veg, 10% bones/calcium, 10% organs and what's left as carbs. So as you can see, carbs have little use yet most kibbles forexample are 25-50% carbs, hence the health problems dogs face today.
If your dog is active then yes, a little carbs goes a long way but use brown rice best. White rice is bleached rice and therefore only a little better than sugar and low nutritional value anyway.
The very best foods for dogs are eggs, meats, organs and canned sardines.
Thank you ..very informative 👍👌👏
Your very welcome, thank you for watching.
Thank you so much.
Hey your welcome.
Thanks,thanks a lot 👍
Hey my pleasure.
Your videos are really helpful😄thanks a lot .. My 8 year old male Rottweiler is suffering from canine Elbow dysplasia and Arthritis. I have been giving him glucosamine sulphate 1500mg per day and also chondroitin 1200 mg per day for almost 3 months now and I think there is some progress . He has been eating kibble his whole life and now I’m trying to change his diet to a raw and homemade diet .. But I am scared that it will create food poisoning for him .I would really appreciate any advice you have 😁Also Can I give him roasted or raw flaxseed powder? And how much?
Hi, sorry this comment was held for some reason.
GS 1500mg good. Stop the chondroitin, useless. Add in GLM Green Lipped Mussel: amzn.to/3mn762S excellent for joints and nutrition. Also add in hemp oil: amzn.to/3vDdtjX perfect omega 3 oil, plus great for joints, skin, brain, coat and lots of vit E. Also give beta glucan from mushrooms, in a word, Amazing: amzn.to/3y2U4KA
Add probiotics to the new food: amzn.to/3J3IC7w in every meal. And add some Guts & Glory (7 beef organs powder): amzn.to/337cxwj to the meals.
Now you have powerful nutrition and supplements to heal your dog effectively.
No it wont create poisoning, it will make hime stronger and stop all vet drugs and vaccines, they are the poison.
Don't roast anything. Flax powder 1/4tsp once daily. Med dog size.
Best of luck with your dog.
It's good enough for me; surely my best friend❤ will benifit too!
Yes they will, excellent oil.
Some remedies for constipation in dogs? Thank you!
Olive oil added to food. Use vegetables more, lightly cooked, crushed and served with regular food.
This will help too - Live enzymes: amzn.to/3zn7mnd

Are you on desktop/laptop/tablet or phone?
Sir does roasted flaxseed is good for dog ?
Plz reply 🥺
No, not roasted, just well ground first before giving to dog.
Is it ok to feed organic flax seeds ? I saw a brand selling organic flax seed in glass jar, can i feed this ?
Yes, but as you stated in previous comment, needs fine blending first.

Can we use cold pressed flexseed oil capsule 1000mg instead of ground flexseed?
Yes.

Omega 6 :- 125mg

What are the seeds we can give dogs and which seeds we can give to cats?
Pumpkin seeds
Sunflower seeds
Chia seeds
Basil seeds
Watermelon seeds
Flax seeds
Are all these seeds safe for dogs and cats. Also any other seeds that we can include?
I don't know about basil or watermellon seeds, the rest are fine well crushed for dogs. I don't know about cats.
You can use hemp seeds too.
Good day, I have a question. I have and English Bulldog 2 year old (20 KG), and an American Bully 7 mos old (17 KG) do they belong to Large or Medium breed ? I'm planning to give flax seed and chia seeds can I give both ? Can I give it to them every day ? How much can I give per day if I'm giving them 2 meals a day. Thank you.
They are medium breeds. Make sure to grind well.
Administer half in the morning and the rest in the evening.
In medium-sized dogs you can start with 1 1/2 teaspoons to 2 full teaspoons per day.
Start off at every second day.
Hi The FDA expressed that a grain free diet causes heart conditions. Does flaxseed count as a safe grain to give dogs? We give our dog a protien kibble and follow your meal supplements. Thanks
Flax isn't a grain so no issues there. And fed as 'meal' only (the seed is crushed) is great for Omega 3 oils and rouphage.
If yopur not adding extra Omega 3's, it's recommended. Here's a quality organic flax meal: amzn.to/2O033Ls
Well done on following the meal supplements.
Thank you for your response. So we put fish oil in our dogs food so I shouldnt add ground flaxseed? Is it either one or the other? We want the Omega 3 benefits and the fiber for his stool.
@@betybop123 The best is real fish... sardines are awesome (canned in fresh water only is best). You get the omega 3's plus the minerals, proteins etc.
If choosing an oil only, go with flax not fish oil which can go off easily if left unrefrigerated and may have heavy metals in it. The flaxmeal has fibre in it too. Hemp oil is also great. Always buy organic too, so the product is cleaner.
Sir how much amount of quantity we feed for 6Month puppy ?
From the video:

Raw ground or rost after ground
@@SnehalataBharatkar Raw gives the dog 30% more nutrients because they are not heated, therefore damaged. If dog normally eats cooked, you'll want to transition over to raw slowly so the dog can get used to it, Just start with 90% cooked, 10% raw and work up over several weeks to 100% raw.
How much oil for my 15 pounds Chihuahua for treat diarrhea. Thanks in advance.

Nice dog. 1/4 teaspoon daily in food.

Can I give flaxseed to my pregnant golden retriever?
Yes, good fats and balanced but make sure it's ground.
Does flaxseed help with dog's anal sac problem too? My dog is a medium breed but has a hard time expressing himself and sometimes it leaks when he's sleeping. Would giving him flaxseed help with this?
It can because of the fiber. Flax must ne mealed ie ground.
Try some Firm Up Pumpkin - amzn.to/3ITr1iA
That might work really well for your dogs issue as it has for others.
Is Flaxseed Oil Better Than Fish Oil ?
Yes. Also hemp seed oil. Organic is best.
Lmfao my 3 dogs are farting their asses off 2 days into adding flax
LOl, is it well crushed. Might be better looking at the diet itself, ie fresher foods the better and less carb heavy food.
