I record the vocals, and after the question is, should I mix the vocals in stereo or mono? Should the verse always be in mono and only harmony/chorus in stereo? Or everything in stereo and just adjusting the vocals more wide or to center or left and right?
In my learning i'd say keep the vocals in mono and have your effects in stereo, have any panning or the harmonies also mono and panned (If you can manage, Have the harms /bvs all routed to a Stereo bus and simply pan the original tracks ) This helps you process them all together but place them where you want in the stereo field. Hope this helps!
