      @exeterrider I believe they said it was to give more low down power and torque as the Street Triple made more of its power higher in the revs. Basically a more relaxed touring ride.

      @@Banditmanuk is it a new engine or just a tiger 800 engine 🤔

  • @rodbowes5309

    I saw this bike at the same location and I think that it will be the perfect bike to fill the gap in the range left by the sublime Tiger Explorer 800. I wasn't interested in the Tiger 900 because the T plane crank that they put into that engine increased vibrations and made it sound more like a twin than a triple. I understand why Triumph did that - the 800 was criticised for spinning up too quickly and losing traction off road and that may have limited sales in their largest market, North America. But the smoothness of a 120 degree crank engine causes less rider fatigue for long distance road riding. The quick shifter is also a useful addition in this regard. The extra 20HP or so over the Explorer 800 is not something that I feel is really necessary, but then I never ride with a pillion. I think that this will be a very successful machine for Triumph.

    • @Banditmanuk

    Looks nice, but definitely built to a budget compared to my tiger 900 gt pro. A gt pro option would be more tempting to me. I wouldn't like budget brakes again after having the brembos, and things like heated seats are lovely to have.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @fazerstorm-oap I understand. I'm guessing there will be a higher specification model like the Street Triple R and RS have.
      I think the manufacturers are looking to bring some sense back into motorcycle pricing, especially after Honda released their Hornet 1000 prices.

    I agree it's a nice looking bike not too dissimilar to the Daytona and the 660 Sport. I'd have liked a TFT and Brembo brakes but then it is built to a price point. I've sort of given up waiting on a replacement for the Tiger 1050 Sport, I guess this one is close and certainly not so tall. Perhaps not enough Ponies to tempt me but I'm sure Carol would love one in the garage.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've been hoping they would build a 1200 Tiger Sport using the engine out the Speed Triple. I do think there is some slightly confusing naming going on with the Tiger name.
      The Tiger 800 & 660 Sport are just road bikes

    • @michaellilley6725
      @michaellilley6725 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Banditmanuk I agree, there's just far too many tigers especially when you consider that Triumph rebranded the 900 Tiger range to be less confusing 🤔🙄 Yet still none of them actually are a close representation of the 1050. I'm pleased now they didn't put the T plane engine into a new Sport. I believe they've reverted back to the smoother configuration on the 1200 Tigers due to customer demand. Tigers, Tigers everywhere yet they seem to have lost their bite 😔

    Looks good but it’s based on the 660 which also looked good. I do see a shift to cheapen the bike though which is worrying from triumph. That same dash also going on the speed 900 recently too, which is a wrong move from the beautiful twin clocks. I am also worried for the Tiger 900 platform as this 800cc engine makes more hpower than the 900 today. Will they next shift the road versions of the Tiger 900 to this 660 platform too! ? Raw materials are at an all time high and are we seeing cost reductions in manufacturing. It’s also £900 more than the current 850 sport. It looks to me like they have just put a revised 800cc engine in a 660 tiger added a couple styling tweaks, a cheaper bike to produce than the outgoing Tiger 850 sport and added £900 - not liking the way Triumph are moving forward here. I also feel that by 2023 we had seen the best bikes Triumph have ever produced and feel cost cutting days ahead, only my opinion of course 😁

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MOTOUK1 I definitely didn't like the move on the twin clocks, but I think cost reduction is key to survival in a shrinking market where the raw materials are still rising. Keep raising prices just means it opens the door to more and more low cost producers from India and China.
      Perhaps things are going full circle back towards touring on a sports tourer instead of adventure bike? You're definitely right that it will take away sales from their existing Tiger 900 line up, especially as the 800 engine makes more power.
