Strong move by Pelinka. DFS, although not as strong defensively as Vando, is a legit 3 pt threat, tough defensively, and raises the ceiling for the lakers defense, especially with max stepping up this season and showing constant improvements . Just what the lakers needed. Great show K bros! Go lakers!
Shake is going to have moments … trust me. He won’t be someone they depend on consistently but he will have his moments. DFS is going to help a LOT. Now they need one more trade … the 1st rounders are still available.
If our roster was bulit around Dlo, then we would stink 😂 He is not a winning player, and teams hunt him on defense. His shooting and playmaking also go way down in the playoffs against good defenses
Start DFS. Starting lineup needs a wing defender. Max can take the guards. With the loss of dlo the bench NEEDS more scoring..rui fits that perfectly. Makes sense for the starters and the bench lineup to start DFS
You guys underestimate the fact that JJ played with these two players in Dallas and Philly and thinks highly of both. He complemented Dorian-Finny skill set on his podcast so JJ will definitely start trusting Finny more than Rui eventually.
Lastly, JJ played with Shake and DFS, had a pod with Bron, AR and D4 are players that mirror his phenotype as a player, Cam Reddish is a brother Dukie. Played with Hayes on Pelicans. AD is the star of the team in his prime. Point is this is JJ’s team on a lot of levels and that could make a great difference in the long run.
Spot on Andy. This is the first time in a while that the FO is not just interested in filling the seats and appearing "relevant". Pelinka is indeed still alive and appears ready to do more than collect a paycheck.
I love this move. We now have another legit 3 and d wing to pair with Max Christie and he gives us line up flexibility. Hopefully we go after JV or Nick Richards next.

They didn't necessarily made this move because they trust Reaves to be a floor general in a playoff situation, they did it because they know Dlo can't be trusted to do it in a playoff situation and they traded him for a versatile defender that can hit the open shot with consistency. Dlo in playoffs was always detrimental to his team doesn't matter if he was 1st, 2nd, 3rd or no option, so replacing him with a contributor was a nobrainer.
@@HatimTimbelsi Credit to Reddish for accepting his role from day 1 with LA. A true professional NBA player. As of today he’s played above his contract. 💯 I hope we have room to resign him come this off season because his skillset as a point of attack defender is in demand. If not, whatever team he goes to with a bigger and better contract will be getting a dog. Obviously his scoring output is not like Malik Monk but the vybz is the same. Love to see guys come to LA shine in their role and move on to get better contracts and playing time around the league.

The Lakers' trade for Milton and Finney-Smith raises concerns, as it contradicts previous criticism of Coach Ham's lineup changes and sends away playmaker D'Angelo Russell, potentially disrupting the team's offense with Austin Reaves' scoring-focused role. LeBron ultimately at age 40 still will be ball 🏀 dominant. AD still the only real center smh
@ I agree . But if you get smith in that starting lineup, the team will be so much better. You can’t though with rui starting . And rui sucks coming off the bench. So there’s a dilemma
@ he plays much better when he has LeBron, ad and reeves out there and they create wide open high percentage shots for him . He doesn’t have people on that bench that do that for him . But it’s a mute point , jj isn’t gonna bench him anytime soon unless he goes on a very cold streak , as long as he’s hot offensively he’s gonna keep his starting spot . Smith will get his minutes backing up both rui and lebron , and smith will be on the floor in crunch time late 4th .
I don’t like this trade because Making shots with no pressure vs making shots with a lakers Uniform is totally different. Dfs is about to be fried if he doesn’t come in here and live up to his hype. He’s never really played with this level of a microscope before and we shall see if pressure burst pipes.
The problem with this switching defenses is that it turned into 5 on 4 offensive fast breaks for our opponent since LeBron doesn't block out or hustles back on defense. Austin, Christie, LeBron, Dodo, and AD will work out better defensively and would place Rui to lead the second unit offensively that has shown, in the past, that can tear up things coming off the bench and remove some of the pressure placed upon Dalton to score.
Better than good cuz lakers got a replacement for that spot vacated by the injured Vando plus getting shake milton to fill up that DLO spot. Needs only a big and would already be complete.

I think dfs will come off the bench, and on days lebron or ad rest he'll start. Milton and reddish off the bench is going to help keep the defensive energy.
It was what I said before this trade they need to fix the bench you already have superstars. Your bench is supposed to be able to give the starters a rest by maintaining the score. I don't have a clue to what the heck you 2 are talking about smh Look it's simple. They beefed up the bench and added what I've been saying all since the Jordan years, Size and length. I learned it from the greatest coach ever, Phil Jackson. It's his #1 request to the franchise he coaches. They don't need a superstar. That's why your paying LeBron and AD. What you are missing is the fillers. The help. Jordan is the best example I can use. Most of his +40, +50, and +60 games were when he was losing. Pre-Scottie Pippen. It takes a team. As good as Jordan was he has some of the best 3 point shooters surrounding him in the league during that time. You need a team also.
