    The vast Mongolian empire, spanning from the Korean peninsula in the Far East to Europe in the west, began with just a tiny group of nomads, not even 100,000 men strong.
    We find out how they were able to achieve this and transformed from a group of barbarians to the most technologically advanced nation in the world.

    I confess that as a very young boy I learned to read age 4. Mom taught me with me following her finger as she pointed at the words in the Book. About 3 or 4 books later I was reading about Genghis Khan. It's been burned into my memories ever since and every documentary receives my attention and many I re watch often.This is the first time I've seen this one and I learned some new stuff ... I'm 72 now ~ THANKS !

      If you wish to know the History of the world from the Egyptian perspective of 3000 B.C. start with a Man Called Imhotep of Kemet which was another name for Egypt. Imhotep was noted for his Medical knowledge among many other things and was the Father of Medicine long before Hippocraies. The Name Imhotep means I Come in Peace and Peace is what Mankind needs not war and destruction. The earliest recorded history we have is of Sumer then came Kemet and from Kemet came Egypt. Just something to check out if you are interested.

      many great empires have conqured more than 3 different civilization areas, even Mongol empire is larger, it doesn't surpass more than 3 areas,
      the three areas are East Asia of Chinese culture, Central Asia of Irnaic culture, East Europe of Orthodox/Slavic culture,
      the problem is that the Mongol can only conquered theses different areas by military means in short term, but impossible to unify these 3 difderent areas into a single empire/civilization, so Mongol Empire can't last,
      we can say Mongol Empire is powerful, but the Mongolia itself is not powerful enough to dominate China, Iran for long,
      since China and Iran's core lands have much higher productivity and wealth the Mongol steppe, the homeland of the Mongols,

    • @ryanjuguilon213
      @ryanjuguilon213 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Emilechen You do knw the Mongols continued to rule these areas after the death of Genghis. Most ignorant people think the Mongols feel after his death. There is a reason the next 100 years was called Pax Mongolica. His sons continued to rule and expand his empire. It was the civil war of Kublai and his brother Ariq Boke than the Great Khan lost his authority and the Mongol empire is divided. The other parts still acknowledge the Great Khan but were now virtually independent.

    The mongols remain the most terrifying force in mankind history. However, fear and terror undermine just how cunning they were diplomatic wise. Awesome sauce 😁😁!! I love learning about pretty much any and all history, but ancient history tends to be my favorite. Especially learning about cultures that are more obscure. Obscure in the sense of civilizations that are not the most popular: Rome, Greece, Egypt, etc. Don't get me wrong, however, I still *LOVE* learning about them too, more than words can describe. I simply am even more fascinated by others (a good example being the Hittites) simply because we didn't learn one word about them in school, so there is just that much more to learn now.
    And so, the preceding profession of deep love of all history and specifically ancient history, is meant to serve as a way to make clear the gravity of the following sentiment. I absolutely *LOVE* learning about the Mongols. I don't think that it's possible for me to name the civilization/culture/peoples that are my all time favorite to learn about. I don't think I could even list my top 3 or 5; there are simply too many that are equally fascinating. If I was forced, gun to head, to rank my top ten though, the Mongols would definitely be in there and might just be the only one in said list that wouldn't be considered ancient.
    TL;DR *I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT THE MONGOLS!!!* 😝🤪😁

    Genghis Khan was not just a warroir, but rather he unitd the mongels to create a nation, conquered half or more of the world and left an empire to his youngest son ? that lasted a 150 years. He also created laws for the mongels, all were taught to read and write, no kidnapping of women , tolerance of different religions and so much more. Today he is is very much respcted by the Mongolian people, whose name they couldn't even mention while under soviet domination under ww2. Genghis was a great leader, strategically adept , overall a great warrior, but not a madman without purpose. He created the mongel Empire of the great stepps. 👍 30:17

During the Mongol expansion, Turkic speakers whose tribes and states had been incorporated into the Mongol empire were so much more numerous than Mongols that, although Mongolian was the language of command, it was Turkic rather than Mongolic speech that was chiefly spread across Central Asia and the central and western steppe.

      @@purevjavterbish33 The mongols could not defeat the mamluks they fought 12 times and lost 11 times. Berke was Muslim which he was mad at the destruction of the Abbasid caliphate. So there wasn’t any chance for the Mongols to conquer Arabia.
      Indians never defeated the Umayyads. It’s only present in Indian sources which clearly lie since it wasn’t even mentioned in Arab sources. The caliphate destroyed the Persians, the Byzantines, conquered Spain and sindh. The Arabs conquered Central Asia from the Turks and even conquered the Kashgar province of the tang and permanently defeated them in battle of talas. Yes the Arabs lost at Constantinople but no one could win until the ottomans. The Arabs did in fact conquer and submit the khazars making him pay the jizya and become a caliphate vassal. The first caliphate had 93% winrate, second caliphate 76% winrate and the Abbasids 77% winrate. The mongols were very lucky they fought a fragment of the caliphate.

    Although the Turks often comprised the bulk of the Mongol army as well as the bulk of armies opposed to the Mongols, throughout the domains of the Mongol Empire there was a diffusion of military technology, which has already bee and also ethnic groups. In addition to the Mongols and Turks, other ethnicities served in the Mongol military machine and found themselves distant from home.

    Very well done documentary. A couple of problems: 1. You kill a dozen people, you're a murderer, kill a hundred thousand people, you're "great". Blech. 2. You'd think the Mongols were only consisting of men. Does even one woman appear in this documentary? They are the support staff. Armies don't get fed without cooks and laundresses and nurses. Not to mention forced prostitution. Not a well balanced look at how things happen. That aside, a good documentary.

    • @ranjava5550
      @ranjava5550 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They didn't have cooks and laundresses, prostitutes they could find in every city they sacked. Those kind of support people and huge amount of food and supply Chinese and European troops had to carry with themselves slowed them down which Mongolians didn't do. There were women who actively fought in battles but very few so maybe they decided to not include. Women were more active in politics and advisory.

    Virtually all Empires that can be considered successful followed the Mogal model. However, what made them notably successful invariably lead to their downfall. Eventually, tribal, national, racial, religious, and/or cultural identity comes to pass and the entire Imperial structure collapsed in on itself or then moves on. There is nothing new about the idea of utilizing human resources along with any other that may be acquired. This goes back to the time of the Babylonian Empire and likely all previous others.

    interesting puff piece. it completely ignores the fact that the Mongol were aggressors and imperialists engaged in their attacks for loot. the Mongols destroyed cities like Beijing, Baghdad, Aleppo, Kiev, Merv and many more murdering their entire populations. who were the Mongol equivalents of Archimedes, Ptolemy, Al-Khwarizmi, Aristotle, Copernicus, Omar Khayyam, da Vinci or Pasteur ??? this myth of the Mongols were all about education is a laugh. given the Mongols were illiterate till the the 19th century why would they need a postal service? how many letters were sent via postmen in the 12th and 13th centuries? the writer of this apparently didn't know the Mongols forbid Jews and Muslims from practicing their dietary laws. so much for tolerance! the entire area of Central Asia was for years a mystery just called Tartary . until the 19th century, European knowledge of the area remained extremely scarce and fragmentary. some thought the Mongols were still running the place. no advances in science, industry , technology or anything ever came out of the area. there is a reason the Mongols were never able to reboot their "empire" once their power collapsed.
