I loved the transitions - from personal narrative, to their conversation online, to their personal fantasies, back to inner dialogue, then their first meeting. They gave the impression of "scenes", something most short films don't have.
This is why I love short films... they prove that you don't need two hours, a million dollar budget, or big name actors to get your audience to feel something. Can't remember the last movie couple I cared about as much as these two.
SO much better than the countless other "online dating meet-up" films I've seen. This is real life - we've all got our fantasies, but sometimes they just can't become reality. But sometimes, reality is even more special.
As someone who met her spouse online, I can say this this little film does an amazing job at expressing the thoughts of someone meeting their virtual penpal for the first time. The nerves, the anticipation, the doubt... spot-on.
6:09-6:23 was so beautiful, hearing the little things about each other that they remember from their conversations together and that they can't wait to witness in person. Such amazing writing in that little moment, it nearly brought a tear to my eye.
Lee Toland Krieger has a great eye for capturing the little things - birds flying, sideways glances, hand holding... the direction here really made all the difference.
She is pretty on the inside, innovative, imagination, inspiration Naomi Scott what an attractive beauty. I would consider this a new genre of multimedia poetry showing desire, fear, regret, saudade, and ending in divine appointment irony. So many emotions on the edge of a cliff like overlooking out the window from the skyscraper seeing the sunset. I'm inspired to compose my own after watching this. If I could do a remix to this video, although the silent moment in the cab is necessary, and this maybe too romantic for a first encounter, I would find a way to somehow fit Bob Marley's 1979 version of "Waiting in Vain" with the version that has full reverb on mute guitar, slight echo with the sound of waves crashing wispering pianissississimo in the background of the cab when they find out who they are, then they inquisitively stare and smile at each other.
Modern/Love near perfection, beautiful to look at, story is sweet, music + Robert Schwartzman makes this mini journey worthwhile - short is well grounded w/Lee Toland Krieger as Director - who is clearly headed to the highest plane.
Realizing there is a selling point to be made, the short itself is pretty still pretty good. Technology, regardless of brand, is the major piece behind this how this story unfolds. The timing is great and the cinematography is spot on. It reminds me a bit of a chapter in my own life.
Nerves! The fantasy build up from two years of corresponding through images of each other cooked up in the course of blind online messages. The sweetness of the ending is that in the end good old fashioned synchronicity won't let them avoid meeting after all. It's meant to be.
"Oh great, I think I have BO right now." Great opening narration. Kept my attention from start to finish, and even though it was so short, I found myself really invested in their relationship. Proof of a job well done.
2019 anyone??? uuugghhhh.. when she bit her lower lip at 2:28. that was when i knew... she slayed me... my bleeding heart thanked her... and that, my friend, is how i died with blissful rapture. -_______-
beautiful, perfect for soul mates everywhere, just keep searching, just keep believing, destiny will bring you together when your love is meant to be - I and my soul mate understand every minute of this, we've not met yet but we've shared these fantasies and we know when the moment is right we will come together. Naomi, love everything you do, so glad I knew you and wish you much more success and a life full of love.
She looks just stunning and that bite of her lip😍❤️❤️ And I love that fact that she is so talented, so smart, so amazing from all the points of view❤️ I love her❤️
Fantastic directing. My favorite moments had to be when they were playing in the water together, running across the abandoned hotel floor, and then the abrupt soundtrack halt once he enters the cab. And their shocked faces after the introduction.
I almost threw my computer at a wall when they started packing up their computers! Which I guess is how they wanted people to feel... but geesh, that was awful, I felt so bad for them. Loved the twist ending though - that's what I call serendipity!
she has a regular british accent. but they made her have a more indian accent since this is supposed to take place somewhere in the middle east and naomi scott is half indian
I found this in my bookmarks and it's not that I like the story (eventually I do), but it has been firstly brought to my attention by a very dear person to me, so even if I'm out of the business, I'll always keep my thoughts inside it.
Such an awesome feel-good film. Proves that sometimes, things don't go as expected... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Wonderful writing and acting.
Strange how ironic real life can be at times ! I've always believed what is meant to be shall be no matter what ! The Sun,moon and stars will align and nothing will stop it ! Sweet story !
It was called "Silver house - by Beach House." I am so glad I took the initiative to download that version instead of having this one. I have no idea why they decided to remove that beautiful music. I mean the whole thing was perfect
I loved it , and didn't want it to end . I'm at the point in my life where I want to get on a Jet and go somewhere far away for about 6 months , problem , MONEY ! This short film about these two was excellent .
Woo, another UCLA filmmaker! Amy Jacobwitz, you did such a great job with this script! It felt so current and realistic. Never thought I'd say this, but it actually has me considering online dating. That first meeting seems so romantic.

Naomi Scott, master of accents. She's a phenomenal actress.
dlumyoung09 that accent is real, she's british.
Indeed she is.
@@em-pr5jv the accent she’s got in this short film is Indian.
@@jessicabhadreshwar3277 i know, i was talking about her real life accent. i was talking about the accent she was born with.
@@em-pr5jv Oooh sorry I misunderstood.
such a simple storyline yet so entertaining at the same time. LOVED IT
Anyone excited for Naomi Scott for Princess Jasmine?, because I truly I'm excited!

I loved the transitions - from personal narrative, to their conversation online, to their personal fantasies, back to inner dialogue, then their first meeting. They gave the impression of "scenes", something most short films don't have.
The sailing scene was so beautiful. The scenery, the acting, the quiet chemistry... great job to everyone involved.
Didn't notice till the credits, but Robert Schwartzman starred in the film AND provided the music? Talk about multi-talented, that's awesome.
Robert Schwartzman - All My Life
Thomas Azier - How To Disappear
Robert Schwartzman - Second Chances
2:16 song name?
Haha, omg that ending. EPIC
Love it! As much as I love Robert Schwartzman's music, I wish he would get back into acting, he was great in this!

Okay thanks
Keep going back to this video. Man, Robert Schwartzman and his music makes it superb!

track listing:
Robert Schwartzman - All My Life
Thomas Azier - How To Disappear
Robert Schwartzman - Second Chances
Do you know the name of the music that starts from 2:19?
In my opinion, this is the best of the Four Stories. Amy Jacobwitz's screenwriting was absolutely amazing. What a beautiful story.
6:09-6:23 was so beautiful, hearing the little things about each other that they remember from their conversations together and that they can't wait to witness in person. Such amazing writing in that little moment, it nearly brought a tear to my eye.
Lee Toland Krieger has a great eye for capturing the little things - birds flying, sideways glances, hand holding... the direction here really made all the difference.
still stands out as a very polished piece of work....take note budding filmakers
Robert Schwartzman and Naomi Scott, you two need to get together. Such perfect chemistry! The fantasy meet-up scenes were incredibly beautiful.
She is pretty on the inside, innovative, imagination, inspiration Naomi Scott what an attractive beauty. HUGE Rooney fan here - great job Schwartzman! Favorite lead singer, might start becoming my favorite actor too.

Robert Schwartzman should've been in romcoms

"Oh great, I think I have BO right now." Great opening narration. Kept my attention from start to finish, and even though it was so short, I found myself really invested in their relationship. Proof of a job well done.
this is actually kinda sad tho they both chickened out and they end up meeting awkwardly
I loved how Doha, the setting of the film, came to life as sort of a third character in the film. Such a pretty background for such a touching video.
