Fantastic work, as always! A great follow-up to Mysteria, which is one of my all time favourite tracks.
There's so much good stuff in here, I don't even know where to start!
I guess, first off, the callbacks to Mysteria are great. The woodland sounds at the start, the vox chorus throughout, and even the general format and orchestration of the tune! (Also, are you applying the same fx to the vox lead in this song as you used for the synth lead in Mysteria? Or is that just a coincidence?)
Secondly, great use of stereo, especially at the beginning. Really adds some nice dimension to the song.
I was shocked to discover that Nocturia is actually faster than Mysteria, if only by a little. Nocturia's setup at the beginning leads it to feel a bit more relaxed and initially less bouncy than Mysteria, but the extra 5 bpm really makes a difference when things kick in at 1:15.
The last couple of comments will have to be that a) I love the 'halloweeny' (sorry, best term I could come up with for it!) bass that shows up at 0:41, it's just a fun intstrument and b) I like the icon/artwork theme progression (deer for Mysteria, foxxo for Nocturia.)
My one, single, wish for this tune would be that the bass/hat kicks used at 0:58 and 1:02 have a bit more depth/reverb, to match the vox and pizzicato strings from the prior section. I got the feeling that I was in this big, wide open space from the intro (0:00-0:58) and then the kicks/hat at 0:58 just sound a bit flat by comparison. I think later on in the song the reverb on the kicks could be left as-is, but for the ones between 0:58 and 1:03, a bit of echo/depth would be awesome, imo.
Anyway, all I really wanted to say was "This is awesome, you're awesome, please keep making music!" but I wound up writing you an essay. Sorry about that ^^;
Wow thanks for this amazing comment, I loved reading it! To answer you no it's not a coincidence I applied the same fx to the vox lead and the lead in Mysteria) ! Indeed the song is 5 bpm faster and that's also what I tried to reach, a feel of speed even if it's "only" 5 bpm more than Mysteria. I tried to keep the same signature sounds as well (the orchestral sounds, this fairy sounds etc...) It's supposed to take place in the same magical universe where huge animals are keepers of the woods (a deer, a foxx...). Yeah I see what you mean with the flat sensation and to be honest with you, I don't like that part neither, I didn't try the reverb but that would've been a great solution to improve it and get rid off the flatness of the section. I feel bad now for not being able to think about it earlier haha. Anyway, once again, thank you for this huge and constructive comment, hope to see you around in the next videos! :D
