I’m obsessed with how long that second hand is. It’s great! Looks like it almost extends through the whole case. I adore this watch but I hate the fake patina. I’m actively considering the other Super Antarctic with normal colour lume.
Pretty sure the bracelet is same u can get on their Depthmaster. Folding part of clasp could be better, milled instead, but it works. The clasp piece itself I believe is milled.. at first I thought it was stamped, but looking closer it looks more solid and perhaps milled. I'm not opposed to fauxtina.. but, not sure if they needed to do that with the hands and the 12 marker.. which maybe a little weird only the 12 marker matches the handset fauxtina lume. I'll say it did sell the vintage vibe as it is.
Is this consider a homage??? Great looking watch at a reasonable price. I think I prefer the Super Antarctica without the Roman Numerals as it was an actually watch the originally produced by Nivada.
Mine arrived after 3 months to find it non-working. Put it on the timegrapher after a good wound to verify it was dead. Really disappointed that someone missed a QC step, so not a lot of confidence in this brand. The AD refunded the cost of the watch, but I am out shipping to and from ($75), so all in all a huge let down. Nivada has yet to answer my message to them two weeks ago, so I am writing this revival brand off. You may be entirely on your own if you purchase, then have issues, and have no communication with the company. I have noticed that my comments on other Nivada videos have been deleted, I guess free watches to reviewers can make a difference.
I really don't expect to pay about $1000 on a watch then have to regulate it myself. My NH35 watches all run within about 2 or 3 seconds a day, and that's a $35 movement.
It's a lot of watch for the money but that dial is a mish- Mash fake patina on some parts and nothing on others if you're going to put fake patina on the dial then all of the applied indices and anything applied needs to be faux patina not just some random things
@@millersciencesms762 It ruins so many watches for me and it's not even funny 😒 just because it's supposed to be a vintage/retro design. Why can't it have white lume
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 I have the version with the white triangular indices. Sadly, the white on the hands and indices are different shades of white. Had to return two before they sent a third with the same issue. 🤬
Good review but you did not mention the crown action. A 5mm crown is just too small and makes it difficult to wind properly. In addition to the fact that the tolerance of the internal gaskets needed to achieve the required water resistance seems to make winding of the movement and re-treading of the crown extremely stiff.
the antique look mixed with pure white?....not believable. I love Nivada Grenchen watches, but to me if you make something look antique, you do it all over.
timegrapher results on the first number are always wacky, especially if the watch has just been flipped and flopped. No matter the watch brand or price.
Why do people always compare a cheap watch to a Rolex? This piece of badly finished metal doesn’t even compare to a Certina, Tissot or a Seiko in the same price range.
Well this has an obvious connection with iconic 3 / 6 / 9 Rolex explorer dial. And all youtubers compare anything as much as they can to Rolex because Rolex name in the title adds so many views.

I appreciate your secret dimensions that helps a lot one picking an actual size of the watch and how it will look on the wrist
Hey that's my watch :)
Pretty excited for it to arrive! Going to bring it back right away to 0.0ms and +1spd.
Thanks again FT.
Great vid
That is a gorgeous watch! Funny enough, my favourite feature is that caseback! Definitely a brand I'm watching, need one in for review soon!
I got the tropical version and put it on their optional Forstner flat link bracelet. It’s tough for me to find another watch I like wearing more.
Beautifully done! 🤩
I really like this Nivada, I wish they made a non aged dial version, I love vintage watches but I'd just simply love seeing that
There is!
@@aaronam365 yes they do but I think that dial doesn't include numerals just indices unfortunately
Great review. I wonder how this compares with the Seiko Alpinist SPB155 or similar?

Nice watch. Really happy with my Steinhart Adventure. SW200 elabore movement. Same water resistance as this watch. Milled clasp. Cheaper by $200+…
Thanks for sharing!
@eggsll These are on another level than the steinhart ..

38mm looks slightly big due to how flat this case sits. I think it would be perfect at 36mm.
Nivada Grenchen doing a lot of good stuff at the moment. This one would be great without the faux patina and a better performing movement.
They just announced a white lume version for 2023 on their IG
I’ve heard people mentioning sketchy after sale support.
Nice watch!
It sure is!
Good vid🎉
Thanks 💯
I want a Pacman version of this🤓
Nice
Beautifully done but worried about that weird lug situation. Seems like getting a nice jubilee, president, or oyster wouldn't fit.
How can l buy this watch
On the nivada Grenchen website nivadagrenchenofficial.com/collections/3-6-9

12,9,6,3 for me.
Why this watch cannot stand on its own merits? It's great looking
it can! Just every title needs ROLEX name in the title for more views. Sorry but its the youtube game. :(

That would be really kool without the faux patina. Dam I'm getting so tired of faux patina
They may make a white lume version in the near future
@@EscapementWatch I do really like Nivada. I still need to grab a Deptmaster
Agreed.

Nivada super antarctic, creation 3 years before Rolex explorer.
Great watch but jog the bracelet on as it looks odd and has evil male end links. Also go for non-patina and age it yourself with years of use.
The Explorer may be a grail watch but 8X the price! Is it 8X the watch? NO!!

Should I replace my Tudor Black Bay 36 with this?
Grenchen ; it is pronounced Grenken ;-)
In Swiss German, it’s pronounced “Grenshen”
Man, this clasp is garbage... Still not sure buy tropic or not...
The tropic strap is great
@@EscapementWatch I mean tropic dial)
ohh, yeah I haven't seen the full tropic version. Dial looks brownish/red. Could be nice.
$1000 with a pressed clasp wth cheap. I’ll pass on that.

Dude, why would you ignore the first number? If the manfacutrer doe not regulate the movement why should the buyer on a $950 watch? Shame on Nivada.
timegrapher results on the first number are always wacky, especially if the watch has just been flipped and flopped. No matter the watch brand or price.
The dial font needs to be aged too…looks off
You will always want the real deal! Don’t waste your money. Save and buy the real one!
