The twist (always gotta include one) is that you can only trade for one starter from your prior 3 teams If you did, say, the suns, thunder, and twolves, you could only trade for 1 of the starters, but as soon as you moved to the next team (blazers, i think itd be), you can trade for anyone from the Twolves, since they’d be out of your past 3 teams. I want to see realistic rebuilds with current team rosters. This will be like a real gm situation. I know you’ve done this sometimes but it becomes unrealistic as it goes on. I’ll lay out some parameters for you to follow, but it will be based off your basketball knowledge. - randomly pick team - 1-2 trades a season - tank a team for a high draft pick if you feel necessary - Top players in free agency are off limits unless they would actually go to the team. You own off discretion (We know 2k doesn’t take this into consideration) - challenge is failed after 3 seasons

Some Tips for Kenny in Long-Term Rebuilds: 1. Send a rookie to the G League for 2 years. If given potential camp he usually goes up 6-10 OVR every season. If not, 3-4. Though he might be unhappy you'll have him for 2 more years + he'll be a restricted free agent so you can match his contract for 3-4 years or offer him a 5 year deal. This is enough time for his morale to go up and they may even sign a contract extension. 2. If you have a restricted free agent and want him to accept his qualifying offer, change his position to his lowest overall and he is less likely to be signed by another team. Same thing for unrestricted players. Also, sometimes changing their position, which changes their overall, has a chance to lessen the money they expect to receive during contract negotiations. Another small tip is if you wait until the 11th or 12th day into free agency, they will expect 1-4 million less. 3. If you're doing an experiment and a player wants to retire, releasing them into free agency usually stops them from retiring. You most likely will have to resign them or trade for them again though. Note: I decided not to buy 2k21 so I am not completely sure if all of these work the same way as in 2k20.

Once when you look at a trade option that a team offers you, you must either accept the trade or move on.
Once you move on you can’t look back at the trade you just saw.
You can’t change the trade at all
Example: you put in Kobi Simmons in the trade finder, you see a trade that gives you Stephen curry. You think there’s a better trade so you move on and the next option is for Tako Fall. You can’t go back and accept the Curry trade since you moved on.

Literally just rebuild every team, one at a time.
The twist (always gotta include one) is that you can only trade for one starter from your prior 3 teams
If you did, say, the suns, thunder, and twolves, you could only trade for 1 of the starters, but as soon as you moved to the next team (blazers, i think itd be), you can trade for anyone from the Twolves, since they’d be out of your past 3 teams.
This would probably be better suited for a stream or a series, but I definitely think itd be awesome

I want to see realistic rebuilds with current team rosters. This will be like a real gm situation. I know you’ve done this sometimes but it becomes unrealistic as it goes on. I’ll lay out some parameters for you to follow, but it will be based off your basketball knowledge.
- randomly pick team
- 1-2 trades a season
- tank a team for a high draft pick if you feel necessary
- Top players in free agency are off limits unless they would actually go to the team. You own off discretion (We know 2k doesn’t take this into consideration)
- challenge is failed after 3 seasons

Some Tips for Kenny in Long-Term Rebuilds:
1. Send a rookie to the G League for 2 years. If given potential camp he usually goes up 6-10 OVR every season. If not, 3-4. Though he might be unhappy you'll have him for 2 more years + he'll be a restricted free agent so you can match his contract for 3-4 years or offer him a 5 year deal. This is enough time for his morale to go up and they may even sign a contract extension.
2. If you have a restricted free agent and want him to accept his qualifying offer, change his position to his lowest overall and he is less likely to be signed by another team. Same thing for unrestricted players. Also, sometimes changing their position, which changes their overall, has a chance to lessen the money they expect to receive during contract negotiations. Another small tip is if you wait until the 11th or 12th day into free agency, they will expect 1-4 million less.
3. If you're doing an experiment and a player wants to retire, releasing them into free agency usually stops them from retiring. You most likely will have to resign them or trade for them again though.
Note: I decided not to buy 2k21 so I am not completely sure if all of these work the same way as in 2k20.
