Yanagisawa S-WO20 V.S. Selmer Series III Soprano saxophone

In this video I have a test play for 3 different soprano saxophone.
1. Yanagisawa s-wo20
2. Selmer 80 Series III Silver-Plated
3. Selmer 80 Series III Gold-Lacquer (Jubilee)
Mouthpiece: selmer concept
Ligature: Silverstien CRYO4
Reed: Vandoren V12 #3

I liked the Selmer silver plate. But I play a solid silver Yanagisawa that is way better than these . Selmer 3´s sound good but tuning is science fiction. Had it in silver. Sold it right away. Bought my Yanagisawa and no problems.

With the Selmers, despite being ever so slightly a bit bright for me, I liked the richer tone of the silver plated over the more mellower gold lacquered and both had an oboe like sound which I like, but the best sounding one for me is the Yanagisawa S-WO20.

Had this horn the Yanagasawa, nice but just not worth the cash.
There are a number of good horns much cheaper.

It seems that the Selmer has a little more oboe-like sound but i'd need to hear it in real life.

I have the same feeling like you. I think the selmer is more oboe-like,but it do have good projection.
