      I have a tinted DM Blurring balm I think shade 2. I just use it on my T zone and spread it towards outer perimeter of my face and do pin point concealing where is needed😄
      Edit: I find it blending better with fingertips!

      Please point us to what the actual difference is in the new Loreal true match serum versus their normal? I mean, from the ingredients it looks like the same thing but gosh the colour ranges are disappointing in the serum 😔 your recommendation of true match has been a game changer for me (undertone pink) so thank you ❤

    • @dominique8655
      @dominique8655 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      i use the tinted blurring balm on the outside of my face and blend inwards with a kabuki brush. i scoop the product out with the spoon and swipe it directly on my face. however i do use a skin tint beforehand, and i just like the extra coverage it gives. i definitely don’t apply it directly by my oily nose though 😂 plus i recently went back to the translucent shade to prime my t-zone funnily enough. i use my fingers and dab it in

    • @jojomarch
      @jojomarch 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

      Have you tried using less, warming it in your fingers and then applying with hands? Try applying it more like a blurring primer than a foundation; push it into the skin as opposed to brushing it on. It's not really a foundation imo

    • @unfurlinglotusflower6939
      @unfurlinglotusflower6939 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +30

      I think you are using too much of it. I use my fingertips. Personally, I think it needs to be warmed up and used sparingly.

When he starts doing the 😮😲🫨“OH MY GOD!!! Look how this green color corrector cancels out the natural red in my skin!! This is such a unique and innovative product… using the color wheel and color theory that’s been around forever… a method that we’ve known about and used since makeup was invented! My grandma had sewing supplies in a cookie tin just like that, complete with the tomato pin cushion. Seeing that palette, I can actually smell my grandma's sewing supplies and the drawer she kept them in. 😢 But... I would have bought it despite it being hard to afford rn and Robert saved me from that. The colors aren't anything special either so it would have ended up being a waste anyway, instead I will get a cookie tin, eat the cookies, and use it to store some makeup supplies 💜 all the nostalgia for a couple bucks.

    To make the balm foundation work on my skin I squish my beauty sponge into the product and pick a small amount up and then pat into the skin. For extra coverage I’ll spot conceal over top of that.
    I find that you cannot build multiple layers of it otherwise you’ll look both dry and greasy at the same time. Very finicky overall but man it controls my oils.

      I tried layering it the first time I used it and it became greasy. I’ve found that a tiny amount works best. I have oily skin. I’ve worn it about 3-4 times now. I bought mine about two weeks ago. I’ve been using a foundation buffing brush. It definitely looks better when you tap the brush into the product and then apply it to the face and tap/buff it in. I’ll have to try the sponge method next.

    If your eyelids are irritated you may have blepharitis. In the US we have an eyelid/lash cleanser called Occusoft. The UK may have a different product but this one is very good - doctor recommended. The sterile pads will help heal your eyelid and are great for the lashes too. If you can, stop the eye makeup until it’s cleared up. We’ll watch any content you put out, it doesn’t have to focus on eyes. Feel better.

    i use the balm powder not so much as a foundation but rather a finisher.. like, i conceal, use liquid blush, apply skin tint, and then go in with the balm on the outside of my face with the kabuki brush to make everything blend even more seamlessly. it is finicky and i don’t use a lot. also i only powder my t-zone so there’s not as much texture laying on top of the product. hope this helps, and given how fickle the product is, some days it won’t work with my skin if there are dry patches

    Interesting how you don't like the blurring balm. I have hellaciously dry skin but sweat enough to fill a pool in summer, so I use it in summer on well prepped skin and love it. You use a heck of a layer there though. I make it a light layer with synthetic kabuki and buff, then a dust of powder on my redder areas. Maybe if you treat it more like a primer?

I also apply it to my redness & it takes down the red, meaning I don’t need as much foundation. The best technique I’ve found is to push it into your skin with your fingers & always follow with foundation. Hope that helps.

Now Im retired and just want a natural look, I found pūrlisse Perfect Glow BB concealer. I love it SO MUCH. it is highly blendable, and buildable. It melts into my skin like another thin layer of skin, and matches my skintone better than any foundation or concealer ive ever used. It doesn’t dry me out OR make my face greasy. I love the foundation!! Amazing for my oily skin. Applies with a brush then even out with a Sponge. I hope you'll find your way of application

    I feel the same about the Haus lab concealer and I also live the foundation. I found you need to really prep under eye and not use a lot
    Thanks for the secondary review!

    I like Yummy Balm Powder (universal) best as a primer under cream foundations. Otherwise, I’ll use the tinted version on no-makeup makeup days to even out my complexion and keep oils at bay. Setting spray and loose powder are incorporated for both applications as well.

    Try using a damp foundation brush. I also prime with putty primer first. The only foundation I use on my oily skin is the DM. Build the it up slowly press and tap.

    Great video, I bought the Fenty beauty eaze tinted drops to have a lighter foundation choice on some days, and it looks horrible on me, it highlights every pore and all my texture. I so wanted to love them

    I like to use the balm powder to set my makeup rather than use it as a foundation. I do my normal skin prep/foundation application then apply the balm on top to set.
    The translucent shade works best for me. I like to take a pea size amount, warm up on the back of my hand, then use a fluffy buffing brush. It works best with other silicone based products. There’s many methods on how to use the product but this one works for me and don’t see myself going back to setting powders.
    Great for the T-zone area that tends to get super oily.

    I know some people use a tiny bit of beauty oil in their makeup prep and it seems to help. I see danessa uses a decent amount of beauty oil before. I have oily combo skin so it stops me from purchasing it because my oily sections will probably hate using a beauty oil as part of my skin prep. My bestie loves it but she like a more natural dew that I can't pull off. I just know my tzone wouldn't have any of that. Yet I've had it in and out of my cart all last year lol.

    When I've seen ppl rave about the DM balm, its as a primer under other foundations, skin tints etc. Not so much as a foundation itself. So if I bought it for myself thats what id use it for and probably in the summer when my oil production gets really disrespectful. 😂

    I've not tried it myself because I'm awful at getting powder or powder-like foundations of any kind to look half way decent on my face, but I'm almost wondering if applying with a damp beauty sponge would work? I've had good luck with that method if I have a setting powder that is a little too heavy for my liking...
    Also, I, too, love the Haus Labs foundation! I haven't tried the concealer yet though.

    A little goes a long way for sure. I barely tap my IT foundation brush into the makeup, then I swirl the brush around in the lid. That covers one side of my face. Repeat for the other side. I have normal to oily in the T zone skin. I love it and it’s so quick to apply. I need to get that new shade, the 3.5! Good luck!

    Hello, Robert! Have you tried applying the Danessa Myricks Yummy Balm Powder with your fingers. I quite like it applied almost as if it is a moisturizer/spf. And I swear the texture is not as matte when applied this way on properly moisturized skin.

    I had recommended to me the Terry colourless powder to set my aging undereye... Very expensive and whenever I use it it seems to show my fine lines even more. Now using Luna Beauty's powder which does the trick. Even an Innoxa powder I got from the chemist was better!
