if i remember correctly, I read somewhere that some conscripts of the communication company stationed in Tallinn opened fire on red army soldiers entering Estonia in 1939. Correct me if I am wrong.

It was a big mistake for the governments of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to act subservient and not to offer virtually any resistance to Soviet Russian demands ,and to dismantle and surrender to the sinister Soviet Communists. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are paying for those incorrect actions till this very day.
There was however, in June of 1940 actualy two incidents of armed resistance by Latvian and Estonian government forces against the invading sinister Soviet Russian forces.
Lativan Border Guards did shoot back against attacking invaiding NKVD terrorists in what is known as the Maslenki Border Incident on 15 June 1940.
In Estonia on the night of 21 to 22 June 1940 Solders, conscrips of the Estonian Army's Signal Battalion fought a battle with both Estonian traitors Communist Worker Militia and Soviet Red Army in a public School building on Raua street in Tallinn.
The battle lasted several hours One Estonian Soldier was killed by the Communist terrorists and 3 wounded. The Estonian Soldiers killed some 10 Soviet Russian soldiers.
The battle started when the Estonian Communist traitors Workers Armed Militia arrived at the School building where the Signal battalion's soldiers were barracked at as they were thrown out of their assigned base to make room for the illegally invaiders Soviet Red army.
The Estonian traitors Workers Armed Militia conducted themselves as thugs demanding that the Estonian Signal battalion Soldiers surrender their Firearms.
Some Firearms were surrendered and the Estonian traitors Workers Armed Militia personnel became more thuggish towards the Estonian Army soldiers who regrouped and found additional Mobilization Weapons which the Estonian soldiers of the Signal battalion opened and made ready loaded those Mobilization weapons and fired on the Estonian traitor Workers Armed Militia who called for reinforcements. Soviet Red Arrmy units in Armored Cars showed up where a total of 10 Communist soldiers were killed. Later the Estonian Signal battalion soldiers surrendered.
The responding Soviet Red army soldiers invaiders acted like gangsters strong arm robbing the Estonian Army Signal battalion's soldiers of their belongings.

Yes the Estonian Army's Signal Battalion conscript soldiers fought both Estonian traitors Communist Worker Militia and Soviet Red Army occupiers once the Estonian Signal battalion's soldiers were humiliated and disrespected given illegal orders to surrender their weapons.
The battle in the school building on Raua street started on the evening of 21 June around 22:00 hours and went into the next day, 22 June 1940. One Estonian Signal battalion soldier died and 3 more Estonian Signal battalion soldiers were wounded.
On the enemy side it is reported that 10 Estonian traitors and Soviet Red Army Communist terrorists were killed by the brave heroic Estonian Signal battalion Soldiers.
This armed resistance by Estonian Military personnel wearing Estonian military uniforms under the Blue Black and White Estonian flag occoured after Estonia was occupied on 17 June 1940.
