Yes Postmates is singing our tips although I don't care about them but I just figured I'd let everyone know it's true. The next day I checked and I see tips added to my account and I called my customers and some of them text me before I can call them and that tell me how much tip they left me and it's not the amount that Postmates posted on to my account. I take snapshots save them and then I print them out because this is going to be addressed to my lawyer as he is and the process are pushing a lawsuit against Postmates
I've done 2080 Doordashs so far and started doing some side Postmates in the gaps where no shifts are available or as a piggyback order to a similar location. Postmates sucks so bad, what a total ripoff and over half don't tip. The worst is those piggyback "2fer" pick ups where they show the first as a nice close delivery location, then 2 seconds later they have added another pickup BLIND LOCATION that sucks going 5 miles away. You can't cancel the second piggyback one or you have to cancel the whole thing. That is such shady crap I can't believe it!! They want to only pay $2 extra for this 2nd mystery blind location second piggyback order they stuck on without asking. So now I'm trying to click the green end 1 delivery button quick so they can't stick on a second mystery 2$ cheap ripoff delivery 5 miles away without asking or paying me. Also I can't believe Postmates only pays $4 and their tips trickle in like 1-3 days later posting. I keep wondering if they are stealing my tips. If there is no tip it's not worth it, because 4 is too risky to waste time on beyond a 1 mile delivery point. I really hate Postmates they are a rip off. Doordash pays much better and you get the tip at the end same day. Second piggyback orders are ASKED first with location of delivery disclosed and option to pick it or not, option to delete it or not if you can't do it, and money of minimum disclosed. So much better. I come from freight business where all locations and amounts are disclosed, and drivers get paid detention charges. I don't know why shipping freight laws don't apply to shipping food courier deliveries because it's the same thing! I think we should get detention time from the restaurant paid, and I think restaurants should be able to set the ready time up to an hour in advance to avoid detention time of us waiting for food! I'm signing up for grubhub now to hopefully replace postmates. My 2 cents.

They prepare the food??? They do it all??? Yeah??? Well,we ensure they have napkins,straws,ketchup and that the orders are complete. How the hell don't we deserve a tip for a job well done ONTOP of putting wear and tear on our cars,using our own fuel.
I knew it.. I had a feeling they were taking money of the tips I gotten. Postmate is the worst company you can work for. I am now doing doordash and today was my first day and made 95$ in 5 hrs, made 9 deliveries. you can actually make I'm doordash.
I feel your pain that's why I stopped delivering for Post Mates. Be mindful that Door Dash and Grub Hub are doing it as well. Door Dash guarantee that their drivers will be paid $10 dollars per hour if they accept and complete at least one delivery and maintain a 4.5 or higher rating. Door Dash has never honored that guarantee and they never will. I expect that they may get sued very soon. They keep their drivers on stand by waiting for offers that may never come, up to 16 - 18 hrs at a time. Uber eats tax their delivery drivers 35% on every delivery they make 25% if you pick up passengers. I never understood the fee they take from their delivery drivers. You the driver pay taxes on that fee as income as though you earned it.

After fighting with customer service , I was able to SPEAK with someone in their San Fran office ( yes, a miracle ). Here are some things I learned: 1) for some merchants we’ll never see a tip , even though customer may have tipped. That’s because customer is dealing with another company or merchant directly and PS is stepping in. Someone else will receive the tip - apparently Postmates pays higher on those deliveries, but I’m not convinced! 2) the new blitz payouts are less because as of Dec 2017 Postmates multiplies the “base” by blitz # ( say 1.50) and THEN add any adjustment, if any. Adjustments matter in places like Nyc with minimum payout of $4 ( walkers don’t walk for miles). They think it’s more “transparent” but to me it isn’t and clearly their goal was to nickel and dime us. 3) if you notice they no longer give you details on whether tip is pending - that’s for customer security reason apparently.... My own observation - Postmates loves nickel and dime us. You see this via ever diminishing payouts - those who’ve been around will agree. They love to collect data on us - they know everything there is to know about where we are at all times , what we look like , yet they aren’t even transparent to us about things like the merchant names in the app we delivered for after deliveries are completed. How are we supposed to question any specific delivery ?
Made over $100 doing within 4-5hrs on Postmates with blitz pricing plus I get all my tips so far. I even got $8 tips in my hand from customers. All this happened on December 17th 2016 for me. New York City
True that homie. I do postmates in LA sucks no tips average 60 bucks 5 hour shift and thats busting ass. $15 for gas whats left is mine. Its cool when blitz is on the each delivery is about $16.
I get 90% tip rate on uber eats and 40% tip rate on postmates and I'm giving excellent customer service and messages keeping the customer up to date. They are definetly not giving all my tips

Postmates is actually trying to get an initiative on the ballot for November that tries to get around the CA AB 5 law, by offering "Earnings Guarantees" equal to 120% of the minimum wage plus $0.30 per mile compensation for expenses (current Federal mileage rate is $0.55/mile). Please get a copy of the text for that initiative before going the lawsuit route. Knowing just how they're going to sell it to the public is important, people. I've noticed my tips are nowhere near what they once were - and I wish there was a way I could tell which deliveries were from Chow Now (if that's how it's spelled). Dang!

Where is the list of restaurants because I want to compare the two if you get can a list of these restaurants please. The Apptrepreneur im not on instacart i was considering it but this happened. instead it's turned into a service charge, where it acts as a tip, but all the money goes to instacart, and they use that money to pay us the minimum payouts, supposedly. they even got caught slipping their words and said "the tip is not a tip" no joke. ill see if i can find a picture of that and ill drop it in your inbox if i can find out how to even do that lol

@@broaduswilliams889 okay since I was 18, 8 years ago now, I have worked for 5 different locations, one restaurant I went and trained new staff at 3 seperate locations. of all those restaurants literally only one of them had a seperate to go person. all the rest of them the bartender handles it. (bartenders take tables at restaurants if you didnt know). thats the case at 90% of restaurants.

Delivery drivers need the tips in order to make up for not getting a set wage (not even minimum wage). So You dont need the tip , what you MIGHT need is a raise though.
I worked at a restaurant too and guess what you are getting paid for that without using your own car, having to put gas and risking your car to get a customer an order so no you don't deserve it if you want the tip sign up for postmates and deliver it yourself postmates barely pays we count on tips.
Don't be lazy and go read all the terms and conditions. Here's the real tips information. Tips Once you complete drop off the customer receives a push notification asking them to rate the order and tip. Customers are not able to place new orders until they take action on rating and tipping in their app. You will see the tips show up in your Fleet Dashboard or in the Earnings tab of your Fleet App no sooner than 24 hours after you complete the order. The tip status will appear as one of the following: Dollar amount of the tip provided.Blank if no tip has been processed. Even if a customer tips right away, the system will not process that payment for at least 24 hours after the delivery.
Two orders an hour buddy your slow I can average 4 sometimes 5 an hour and if all my delivery’s are prepaid i can easily do 7 know your area. I know people here tip. It’s random though but I’ve noticed a pattern for every six orders I complete the chances of getting tipped are high but i will only get about 2 maybe 3 if they are small tips maybe postmates changed this I don’t know. I don’t do this for the tips like I said I average 4 orders an hour that’s an easy $20 an hour. I think postmates sees this and that’s why I get back to back orders 2 every 20 minutes so I like those days. That’s also why to this day I have not been deactivated I’ve received emails from them but my rating keeps going up slowly but it’s getting their I do this part time that’s why I only have 44 delivery’s done I’ll be doing this full time soon so let’s see if the pattern in tipping stays the same.

Supposedly if its a Chownow order it will list the restaurant and then the city/location when it pops up for accepting.

The Apptrepreneur im not on instacart i was considering it but this happened. instead it's turned into a service charge, where it acts as a tip, but all the money goes to instacart, and they use that money to pay us the minimum payouts, supposedly. they even got caught slipping their words and said "the tip is not a tip" no joke. ill see if i can find a picture of that and ill drop it in your inbox if i can find out how to even do that lol

Right and not only our Cars, Time & Effort but the extra gas they don't fucken cover being im in The San Bernardino area and sometimes get $4-5 for the same as a short distance for a long ! & Wear and Tear on my Car. Plus ordering the food when I fucken get there, Paying, Making sure they get their food order Correct then taking it to them all for $4-5 lol THIS IS WHY IM WAKING UP THE NEXT DAY SINCE LAST WEEK ALWAYS RECIEVING MY TIPS THE NEXT MORNING NOW WAKING UP WITH $0 IN THE ACCOUNT... Man if you only knew the other side of this, and how much servers and bartenders hate delivery app drivers. Ill tell you to your face on a busy night: "I see you. I know where your order is. And I'm not gettint it for you until the customers that are actually paying me get taken care of."

How are the delivery drivers taking your tip when you never service the customer directly, that's like getting mad that a customer places a to-go order and doesn't tip you.

And tip when you order to go food. Somebody took time off of a table or a bar to make sure it was good to go. And then rang it up while your entitled ass stood there with an attitude because their busy.

You CAN tip on your company card. I do it every time.
Do to go orders deserve 20%? Definitely not. A couple bucks is fine.
But like you do understand that delivery drivers don't deserve 20% tips right?

I actually do both. I'm a bartender and a server and I drive for Postmates and door dash.
And guess what? I tip every time with the company card. They allow it. It doesn't cost you shit. Tip the to go person.

@@broaduswilliams889 okay since I was 18, 8 years ago now, I have worked for 5 different locations, one restaurant I went and trained new staff at 3 seperate locations. of all those restaurants literally only one of them had a seperate to go person. all the rest of them the bartender handles it. (bartenders take tables at restaurants if you didnt know). thats the case at 90% of restaurants.

i work in a restaurant and i do everything from cooking the food to taking orders and everything we deserve the tip as much as you do!

Delivery drivers need the tips in order to make up for not getting a set wage (not even minimum wage). So You dont need the tip , what you MIGHT need is a raise though.
I worked at a restaurant too and guess what you are getting paid for that without using your own car, having to put gas and risking your car to get a customer an order so no you don't deserve it if you want the tip sign up for postmates and deliver it yourself postmates barely pays we count on tips.

Tips
Once you complete drop off the customer receives a push notification asking them to rate the order and tip. Customers are not able to place new orders until they take action on rating and tipping in their app.
You will see the tips show up in your Fleet Dashboard or in the Earnings tab of your Fleet App no sooner than 24 hours after you complete the order.
The tip status will appear as one of the following:
Dollar amount of the tip provided.Blank if no tip has been processed.
Even if a customer tips right away, the system will not process that payment for at least 24 hours after the delivery.
Two orders an hour buddy your slow I can average 4 sometimes 5 an hour and if all my delivery’s are prepaid i can easily do 7 know your area. I know people here tip. It’s random though but I’ve noticed a pattern for every six orders I complete the chances of getting tipped are high but i will only get about 2 maybe 3 if they are small tips maybe postmates changed this I don’t know. I don’t do this for the tips like I said I average 4 orders an hour that’s an easy $20 an hour. I think postmates sees this and that’s why I get back to back orders 2 every 20 minutes so I like those days. That’s also why to this day I have not been deactivated I’ve received emails from them but my rating keeps going up slowly but it’s getting their I do this part time that’s why I only have 44 delivery’s done I’ll be doing this full time soon so let’s see if the pattern in tipping stays the same.
