Best info so far…how does the ss screen behave when your sanitary pipe is rusting away.? Compared to a cpvc hydro screen? I have two fully screened wells and one w/o….the non screened well looks like rust colored snow falling towards the pump….can a skirt be added to keep these fines from wearing the pump rotor?
So I have a well that’s about 36 years old. Still gets water great, but we get a lot of sand and silt. So the well screens have eroded. How are these replaced and what is the typical cost? When they put the well in I’m guessing there were no trees, but now my well is in the middle of the woods. No truck can access it at all.
Typically screens are made of stainless steel or PVC so if you are getting that much sand and silt there is likely no screen in the well. You cannot replace screens but If there is a screen in the well it can be redeveloped. Access must be provided to complete this task. Hope this helps.

What if you still get fine material after screening?
How does a gravel pack compare to a screen?
Great video
Thanks for the visit
