This Time I Look At The 2020 Figures Toy Company Type S Body. I Will Attempt To Upgrade A Figures Toy Company Hero Body To Type S and Will Show My Recipe For A 2020 FTC Action Jackson.
Great video, i ran into the same problems with converting old and nu Mego heads onto the type S. I converted an Aragorn and by accident a Don/Superman head onto a type S deluxe I'm so glad you mentioned the thigh swivel, you gain more at the knee but lose THE SWIVEL! WHY?! The bicep has swivels and double jointed elbows!!! It's so frustrating!
Glad mego is making their own bandless bodies and hopefully the don't make it so you can't convert it from the old bodies. What was figures toy company thinking by making these this way.
I found a quick fix for fitting the Super Hero heads to S Type bodies is to wrap a rubber band around it a couple times. It makes a snug fit. Also I have noticed after getting multiple retro and deluxe S Type bodies that the deluxe screws are more likely to strip for some reason. Probably best to avoid the deluxe if you can. Great video by the way.
on ur Batman fig... Try to heat the elbow joint on the Batman fig and then do the same for the S type body and see if you can wedge the elbow joint with the S type body with the peg attached. see if that will work . For the feet you can use regular blue boots with the feet. I guess you have to tinker with them a bit. Hope that helps.
didn't they sell the S Deluxe as a body back then? I came to your video wanting to know if i should buy the bodies i just discovered on their site last night. Maybe it was so new back then, but i totally want the DELUXE body, with the double joints.
they sell arms and legs? I'll bet those cost...well, an arm and a leg...but seriously, i want to get the translucent bodies, the GITD bodies, and then maybe human flesh bodies just to create some of my own creations. I ironically still have the BATGIRL head from my 70s figure, but i don't think the head will work, unless i can remove the neck-nob glued to the vinyl (by them)...long ago, the rubber band in her snapped, and while trying to tape-together the torso, i made MUMMY-WOMAN and used a candy container skull head, that i taped up and used for the body's head.
It's pretty goofy how it goes for compatibility since they are all far too close to each other to not be compatible, it would be like Lego style bricks not fitting together at all. That deluxe thigh without a swivel makes no sense, just put it higher like you did with the deluxe arm swivel. :P Articulation symmetry isn't rocket science. O_o??? I like the concept of gloves and boots snapping on but really you should be able to remove the bottom half of that boot leg and pop on the foot, changing the peg diameter between both wasn't necessary on their part.
to fix the color: use Clothing Dye...or just pretend it's 45 years old and the vinyl aged differently that the plastic body, just like the 12" Mego Spock.
I’m a stop motion artist I’m looking to use third figure to put my neca terminator head on to make a custom nude terminator figure do you think this would work?
the only heads i could find on their site last night were scary heads...i want none of those. not even one calm alien head or a human head, just angry monsters.
Why would figures toy company make an s type body that you can't change their older figures over to. What is the purpose of the new body if you can't do that?
Well You Have To Take The Good With The Bad. Better Construction Is A Plus. Can Be Easily Customized Is Plus. Color Is A Negative and Compatibility With There Own Products Heads Are A Negative. But I'm Hoping These Issues Will Be Resolved. Thanks For Watching.
the plug in boots & gloves are awful .however most FTC figures work well with the new S body .i switched over a lot of the repro mego figures like shazam, superman, batman, robin, tarzan, conan ,and gilligan birdman new superman sculpt and they look fantastic ,once they put out colored hands that come with an s body ,will be able to do joker, flash, riddler ,etc like that superfriends batman ,their are some that dont work .

Indeed. Upgraded double jointed should keep the swivel. Maybe the new mego bandless body will have it.
@@johnwild8336 the female bodies need thigh swivels too!
Argh! Why?! They're so close to being perfect bodies

Great video! BTW you can now upscale that Batman figure to S-type laser mego has converter kits for those hand and foot pegs 😁
fantastic review on figures toy company body type s
Thank you 🤗
You should do an update on the bodies.
I managed to put the parts from my Red Hood figure onto the FTC Deluxe Type S body, and the only flaw is that the bodysuit is a bit small.
It’s great to have the S-Type body, but bad you can’t use it on the previous FTC figures.
It's A Bummer. Thanks For Watching.
@@johnwild8336 I just use a FTC/CTVT hand peg for the boot feet on a Type S
Could you try a video about converting a mattel retro super hero to a s type body if it is possible.

Excellent video John
Many thanks!

Good video. I like type s. Biggest problem I had was keeping the screws from stripping. Any idea the scree size.
When working with bodies where the feet are removeable, use socks. if you don't have any, make them out of Dollar Tree gloves
Another fantastic video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You can retro fit original mego. Most FTC retro heads would work. But new releases (Superfriends, Batman '66 ) have smaller neck plugs.
@@johnwild8336 Thanks for the tip. I know mego is also supposed to release bandless bodies.
hey how do we know which figures have the new s type body? do the hanna babara figs have it, or even kenevil?
As far as I know the type s body is just sold separately. Thanks for watching.
I am disappointed with the new quality.
