Wei Wuxian character song
A story revolving around the carefree Wei Wuxian becomes fast friends with the righteous Lan Wangji, and during their adventures, the pair find out that the head of the Wen clan is the evil mastermind behind a series of plots that would wreak havoc upon the lands.
Wei Wuxian reappears sixteen years later, and works together with good friend Lan Wangji to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit.
~~ Based on the Moxiang Tongxiu's novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.

the lyric is full of disappointment and sorrow, but the music is upbeat , the voice is clear and the tone is cheerful.....its really portrayed Wei Ying's character when he hide his pain, sorrow and disappointment behind a giggle, laugh and sweet smile......urgghh i'm torturing myself again.....

From my point of view...wei wuxian never broke his promise to Jiang cheng...he gave Jiang cheng his golden core...for me..he never left...he was with Jiang cheng when he rebuit the lotus pier, just not the way he expected.....but it's just my opinion tho

he gave jiang cheng his own core, cause its the only way he feels to right his mistakes, he feels it was his own fault that their parents died, he gave him so that he could build the lotus cove by himself, with their sister, but unfortunately he cant do it anymore, no matter how talented wwx is, his golden core is not his and its also broke he cant wield the sword.. so he did another way of cultivation to make up for it. wwx just wanted jiang cheng the best, he didnt actually broke the promise, he left by himself because his reputation when he came back is more worse.. if he stays longer lotus cove reputation will also go along with wwx and besides that, wwx promise to himself and to lan zhan that he would help the weak, and poor without regrets....

Weiying talking about the sound of zither he heard in his dream(he dead) lan wanji play inquiry everyday to search for wwx soul but received no answer. And wwx stil wanderin at tgr line of life and death, confuse if this is dream or reality.

Wwx keeping his promise to mr and mrs jiang to protect jiang cheng and shijie safe at all cost. Hence why he willing to give his golden core and turn to dark cultivation to keep his promise. He accept all the hatred, the insults, and even kicked out of yumeng so he can see his brother to live a good life. His loyal and kind heart is what make him as himself.

As a Chinese native speaker, the lyrics for this song is absolutely beautiful, perfectly described Wei Ying’s life and his character.
And what most incredible is, there is no repeated lyrics in this song, and all of them is almost written in Classical Chinese style (which the sentence structure and words are really different from what we use now).
XiaoZhan did a great job in singing this, he got a really nice voice, pronouncing them as clear as possible and memorising the lyrics.
Whoever wrote the lyrics has a really profound knowledge on the language and the story itself 👏 👏

fun fact for mainly english speakers the word 婴 （ying from wei ying) is literally how chinese address new born which is commonly associated with pure and innocent. similar to wei ying character, a child will try to help others in pain without much care of consequences cause he/she dont hink that much, just care-freely take care of those he love. At the same time a child or we call 婴儿，is often misunderstood and not taken seriously. Not many would trust a child's word or believe what the child say.. similar to wei ying...

Remember the promise he made with Yu ZiYuan and Jiang FengMiang, that he will protect Jiang YanLi and Jiang Cheng even if it means sacrificing himself? Well, he keep his promise didn't he? Giving away his golden core to Jiang Cheng.
Wei Ying, he is the most selfless person I've ever known, and he doesn't even ask for anything. Maybe this is one of the reason I still can't move on.
this scene always makes me especially sad because wwx isn't the only one who sacrificed himself. the reason jc lost his golden core in the first place is because he saw the wen clan searching for them, and decided to sacrifice himself to distract them from wwx... it makes you realize how deep not only the main characters, but ALL of them, are. wwx and jc never explicitly show it, but they truly care for one another despite their differences.

...I once read a post about this guy. He was said to be evil, cruel, and wreaking havoc and killing people throughout the land...however, just like how chenqing is portrayed and drawn by zelda, Wei Wuxian is just as pure as a child inside. I'm sad when I remember how the world judged him when they don't know what he really did and why he did it. Plus whatever he did, caused and took life of people but also helped people.

That just shows how cheerful Wei Ying is despite the sad things that happened to him. Some people might say he's weak because he trusts easily, but I've never seen such a strong person ever in my life, who is able to hold on to his promises and fulfill them till the end. Even though the promises couldn't be met, he stayed, stayed till his death, tried his beat to fulfill them and believed in what he thought despite what others said about him and fought on. He's fiercely loyal and I love that about him! I am willing to forgive him for killing so many people, because I know he's good and wonderful!
I’m back here after getting a new pair of earpiece and I just wanna say that both earpieces are important when listening to any of the OSTs. The left are basically the vocals and the right are mostly the music. Both combined gives u memories and flashback from ep 1 to 50.(for all OSTs esp Wu ji)
this is really an awesome piece of work.. it shows the hidden sorrow of wei ying. the beat is really awesome but the lyrics are painful, it suits wei ying. xiao zhan is an awesome singer, his voice mixes both sorrow and smile, true feelings.... a great piece of work
The song is so upbeat but still sad.. I always cry reading its lyrics. But Wei Wuxian! you did nothing wrong. You did what you had to do. The brotherly love u had for Jiang Cheng.. ofcourse you did what a true brother would do. But sadly Jiang Cheng could never understand this...😔 I expected them to have a deep talk interaction at the end. That Jiang Cheng would atleast apologize sincerely to WWX putting his pride aside... but no right...he could never put his true feelings into words in front of WWX. Still i'm happy Wei Ying got the love of life, his Lan Zhan. 😊
