Here's an idea for the student loan debt problem: QUIT LOANING RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO KIDS WHO DON'T EVEN HAVE THEIR TOOTHBRUSH TO THEIR DAMN NAME!!!
I don't think being a single mom is her main problem it's the fact that she didn't do her research or think things through thoroughly. Instead she fell into pressure of student loans, in what world would u pay a loan over rent. I hope her situation has gotten better
You have a freaking Masters degree & you need help in how to understand basic finances? Take care of your rent & basic needs first. Go work at Walmart!

direct998 The system isn’t screwing her over, she borrowed money without understanding what she was doing. It’s unfortunate but you don’t borrow money without understanding what you’re doing
Everyone makes mistakes, but she didn’t have family money for fall back on. She majored in absolutely useless subjects and took out an insane amount of loans. She would have been far better off just working a job right out of high school or majoring in engineering. Her second mistake was becoming a single mother. It was very careless and selfish of her. And she could only afford to make such blunders if she had family money to fall back on. That’s just the reality. She would be fine if she just worked a job right out of college and had no children

it is a scam in a sense. a lot of people will never pay off their student loans but they will pay much more than they borrowed. i am supposed to pay about 300 a month. it increases over time to 600 a month. i borrowed 30k defaulted once but will pay back something like 120k if i can stick to the payment plan. oh wait...im an idiot and i am about to default again......i agree it is my fault but i will be paying on this mistake until i die. so what,2-300k on a 30k loan by the time i die? it is a very profitable, long term investment for the government
They get it. It’s just the insane interest rates that make it impossible. They do need to be more educated on what they’re signing up for though, because the interest rates are outlined as either fixed or variable.
I ditched my field to sell cars. Best decision I ever made to the shock and disgust of my parents (who bullied me into college in the first place). I wouldn't say i missed out on anything, dorm rooms suck, meal plans suck, and I still went to parties/football games/whatever "college experience" you think you want with out the CRIPPLING debt Ive seen others have to pay. The bashing of this single mother for wanting to do better and get an education is unacceptable and downright cruel. What most of these super selfish people don't understand is that most folks with student debt aren't trying to get them expunged or forgiven at the tax payer's expense. They just want reasonable interest rates and reasonable repayment options to work with so they can actually pay their debt down. Why is that such a bad thing to ask for and expect as a student borrower? Usury is predatory lending and its a sin and a terrible burden to bear. This isn't right. Grow a heart people!
Edwin, I don't think anyone doesn't want what you are asking for. The frustration I believe people have with this borrower is that she clearly didn't do her research when considering the cost of her education (going out of state, applicability of her degree, total ignorance in general to her financial matters). I would also point out that if she was receiving these loans from a public loan lender for undergraduate work prior to 2014, she was paying less than 4% in interest, hardly usury. On one hand, I do feel bad for anyone who makes poor decisions (not enough to want to raise my taxes to pay for them, mind you). On the other hand, as one of the MBAs that there are enough of, I feel that people should be able to do basic math before making life changes decisions, especially if there are young children that you are tasked with taking care of involved. I'm not having much sympathy for her, not so much for being single mom, but not living to reality. Taking on college loans, not knowing how to pay it, then having the kid, and over spoiling your kid to being forced out of her home.
1. You borrowed $100,000 for a social work degree when social workers don't make much money. 2. You had a kid while in that much debt. 3. You had a kid out of wedlock. You practically begged to be poor.
The most popular degree is biz admin and there are plenty of people who think they will have a high flying career in wall-street aka where the financial crisis hit the hardest.
William Newell That’s because society in form of the market don’t value social workers. Social workers are there for the poor and irresponsible when social crisis erupts.

when did I say always?? I said SHE would be. And for the record: yes, most women and most people in general are happier when they have someone to rely on, be that a partner or a family member. Cos coming back to a microwave-heated dinner after work is SOOO fulfilling!
Gina's student loan situation is what millions upon millions are facing across the nation. So many comments criticizing her for having chosen to study social work when in reality, social workers are highly needed all across the country and requires higher education. Instead of ridiculing her, more focus should be placed on how a job that requires both a bachelor's and master's degree pays so little. Furthermore, she didn't go out and have multiple children like many women do, she had one and the one that she does have was five at the time of this video. At least she HAD her baby, clearly loves her and is doing her all to give her the best life. The bottom line is that the consequences of her not being able to pay back her student loans should not result in her losing her entire livelihood. Gina literally tried to improve her life through education yet has this to deal with. Millions of Americans are in the very same situation who don't even have children. Praying that her financial situation has taken a complete 180 and that she is happy wherever she currently is in life.
Derrick Short No. This is what happens when you don't take the time to read your school loan contracts and do the math, research a marketable skill, and can't keep you legs closed.
right so how come bernie madoff gets sentenced to life is prison for pretty much the same things yet we schools do this mess its overlooked. society complains about welfare and society now is complaining because she believe that the government would hold there side of the deal.
moral of the story here folks is if i buy something it should work if it doesnt work most of you would be like ok how about the return pilicy. you dont pay something for nothing. you buy a new car with warranty or promises two days later the car breaks down sorry you cant get your money back hmm i wonder how many would run to the bbb for a complaint
Single mom or divorced mom? Having children out of wedlock keeps women poor and like her mom and grandmother, that daughter will probably continue the cycle.
“If I had the money I WOULD pay them there just isn’t any money!!” So pathetic, she makes it sound like she doesn’t have to repay them the money she borrowed and agreed to repay.
I don’t why there’s so many “she agreed to repay” comments - yeah she never said anything to suggest she doesn’t believe in that. She was making payments before she lost her job. Losing your job in an economy crash and trying to find another job in a field with no openings does make that rather difficult. I mean c’mon man she’s slumming it doing CPR training and nannying. Hardly the kinds of stuff that make it anywhere near what she needs to pay at LEAST the rent, let alone other life expenses…
@@kellyanna94 I don't care how hard it is for liberal arts majors to find a job in the economy - they agreed to that major, they agreed to borrow money and repay it, it's THEIR fault - the taxpayer shouldn't be punished more than they already have been to fund delinquent student borrowers!!!
maybe you should have considered an education. in which way does that statement imply that she thinks she doesn't have to pay it back instead of not being able to pay it back...dumbass.
she isn't applying herself and expanding the range of work she could do. sure her degree sucks in that field but she has other options. playing chaperone for a field trip when you don't have a job is not an option. her job is to be spending all day finding a job and not playing with kids at daycare
I don’t get how it’s hard for her to find a job. She could easily become a secretary with a masters degree or just work retail if she’s desperate enough. She probably thinks those jobs are beneath her
1. If she was grown enough to go to college, she was grown enough to be on birth control. 2. It is very easy to sign up for Income Based Repayment plan & pay $10 a month.
I hope she got a good job eventually and some debt forgiveness, I remember back when I was in college how easy it was to get a student loan and I came from a dirt poor family so it was nice to get them loans not even thinking about paying them back, but as soon as I graduated they started calling, didn't even give me 2 weeks to find a job. I only borrowed 8k but due to low paying jobs I was unable to pay so it shot up to 12k and went into default, should have let it stay in default, I moved to the big city where the job opportunities were better and landed a good paying job but not in my field of study, looking back I could have bypass college all together, what a waist of time, I eventually paid them off
The bigger indicator of poverty isn't student loan debt, it's having a child out of wedlock and being a single parent. Keep those legs closed or use protection ladies. It's not worth it.
The mother in this case was raped by some thug in Baltimore. She should have had an abortion but the thug that raped her should have been castrated and then shot. P.S (guess the race of the thug that raped her)
I've never voted Democrat/Liberal in my life. Actually, being called a Liberal is more offensive to me then being called anything else I can think of. I assumed this girl got knocked up in college, if she was raped by some thug, ya I hope he gets castrated.
I really do not understand why people go into social work when you need a masters just to get shit pay and a high workload. Do people like causing harm to themselves?
I have a master’s degree in social work and I absolutely love what I do. However you must be wise about how you will go about managing your career and finances. I got a license in social work which opens up many doors to jobs with higher pay. I also got a job at a site that qualified me for student loan repayment. I now earn over 100K and have had my student loans paid off.

If they want 4 additional years of childhood with better parties and more liberty, then they should have to pay for it out of their own pockets later on. The extremely skilled in academics already have scholarships. Those that study useless majors are usually just there to socialize and have fun, with the degree as an excuse.
I wonder why the average taxpayer doesn't speak up more about all these strange government programs that cater to dumb people and make them even poorer.
If you have a disabled son you can use his Social security open up a bank account and put your money in there or put your money in PayPal. Save money that way. A house using his Social security a car.

Obviously student loans are a good thing, it's just the way they are collected is important to discuss. Australia's system has the debt paid off by taking an amount directly out of paychecks. Debt still gets paid back and graduates don't go bankrupt and fall further into debt.
Amazed to see people calling this woman an "anchor" on society. Borrowing $50K and getting an undergrad and M.A. is VERY VERY easy and, if we are being frank, pretty moderate by student loan standards in the 21st century. Anyone in university lately will know that this woman clearly did NOT waste that money when she was in school. It sounds a lot like she was actually making payments before she lost her job which might be why she is probably without any sort of financial cushion post-job loss. Her big mistake might, again if we are being frank, have been making the payments in the first place and/or not making her repayment "income dependent" when she graduated. Of course, then the interest would have exceeded the payments and her balance would have increased fast....which is happening to A LOT of people out there. This is all money that, in the aggregate, is never going to be paid back but will continue to swell over the years. Nonetheless, we keep pretending.
I really believe that Network Marketing is for people who are facing situations like this. It's a matter of exploring the Network Marketing profession to see what it is and how it works. Anyone can research this profession on their own or contact me and I will send them info so they can make the personal choice. This story is too sad for words.

What kind of men do you think they open thier legs too 😂😂😂
1. You borrowed $100,000 for a social work degree when social workers don't make much money.
2. You had a kid while in that much debt.
3. You had a kid out of wedlock.
You practically begged to be poor.
This. Bad decision after bad decision.
The most popular degree is biz admin and there are plenty of people who think they will have a high flying career in wall-street aka where the financial crisis hit the hardest.
All those millionaire, social workers.... oh wait.
William Newell That’s because society in form of the market don’t value social workers. Social workers are there for the poor and irresponsible when social crisis erupts.
@@nobad6134 Those stereotypes are so ignorant 🙄 There’s school social workers, hospital social workers, those that work with survivors of domestic violence, abuse, and trauma, MSW’s also do counseling and can have an independent practice…
9:26 That lady is full of crap. If someone can pay 42,000 like that without issue then they wouldn't have pursued a loan in the first place.
America , not a country , but a business . everything and everyone for sale
Who put a gun to her head and made her have a baby with no husband\provider? Who made her choose a profession that has no job openings? Who made her choose a school that charges 100k?
Shes a loser that made shit choices
Well, if her credit is ruined and her loans are in default, she can't consider federal employment. She should try applying for jobs with state government agencies such as DSS. Or try some work-from-home options.
I believe eventually the lenders are going to lose .They are making it impossible for students to pay back their loans. So they will lose out just the same.
Yeah, I noticed that no one is mentioning the kid she chose to have, which costs an insane amount of money. 🙄
the problem are kids choosing degrees that aren't marketable....art, liberal arts, etc...its a waste of time and money.......i am a liberal arts graduate....economics....never used it.....by the the way i am old 65b years old....this is not new
This is a systemic problem. If we as a society want to fix this we need to end the student loan program NOW.
Video was six years ago, still nothing done/fixed.
I'm a truck driver I want to go to college to pursue my passion but I have a family to support so it has to wait and I don't want to have to pay back other people's student loans can't afford it.
What,a corrupt system!
Had she gotten married to an engineer instead of trying to be a strong independent woman, should would be enjoying home-made cookies, playing with her daughter and sipping wine in the evening with her hubby...
Zwanzika Hatzel right...because women ALWAYS have to depend on a man to be happy 😂😂😂
when did I say always?? I said SHE would be. And for the record: yes, most women and most people in general are happier when they have someone to rely on, be that a partner or a family member. Cos coming back to a microwave-heated dinner after work is SOOO fulfilling!
Zwanzika Hatzel lmao fuck off
lmao what a filthy mouth! lmao I wouldn't expect anything else from an entitled dumb bimbo lmao lmao
Zwanzika Hatzel lol 😝 oh right your virgin ears and eyes!
Dave Ramsey
You're lucky you have Caller-ID available. At least there is that.
I'm grateful I got scholarship for school!
You wouldn’t be interested in some financial aid?
this is what happens when we play by the rules
Derrick Short
No. This is what happens when you don't take the time to read your school loan contracts and do the math, research a marketable skill, and can't keep you legs closed.
right so how come bernie madoff gets sentenced to life is prison for pretty much the same things yet we schools do this mess its overlooked. society complains about welfare and society now is complaining because she believe that the government would hold there side of the deal.
moral of the story here folks is if i buy something it should work if it doesnt work most of you would be like ok how about the return pilicy. you dont pay something for nothing. you buy a new car with warranty or promises two days later the car breaks down sorry you cant get your money back hmm i wonder how many would run to the bbb for a complaint
what a nightmare.
Where is her husband?
I think he died :/
If you are smart you will never need debt. If your stupid it's poisonous. - Warren Buffett.
Single mom or divorced mom? Having children out of wedlock keeps women poor and like her mom and grandmother, that daughter will probably continue the cycle.
“If I had the money I WOULD pay them there just isn’t any money!!”
So pathetic, she makes it sound like she doesn’t have to repay them the money she borrowed and agreed to repay.
@@kellyanna94 No, it's Her student debt and SHE is the one who needs to pay it off.
She's not entitled to a home.
@@kellyanna94 I don't care how hard it is for liberal arts majors to find a job in the economy - they agreed to that major, they agreed to borrow money and repay it, it's THEIR fault - the taxpayer shouldn't be punished more than they already have been to fund delinquent student borrowers!!!
maybe you should have considered an education. in which way does that statement imply that she thinks she doesn't have to pay it back instead of not being able to pay it back...dumbass.
poor life decisions
You took it now pay it back
she isn't applying herself and expanding the range of work she could do. sure her degree sucks in that field but she has other options. playing chaperone for a field trip when you don't have a job is not an option. her job is to be spending all day finding a job and not playing with kids at daycare
I don’t get how it’s hard for her to find a job. She could easily become a secretary with a masters degree or just work retail if she’s desperate enough. She probably thinks those jobs are beneath her
IT SEEMS LIKE SELLING DOPE IS BETTER THAN EDUCATION,LOL.
👆this. All this. 💯💯
I only borrowed 8k but due to low paying jobs I was unable to pay so it shot up to 12k and went into default, should have let it stay in default, I moved to the big city where the job opportunities were better and landed a good paying job but not in my field of study, looking back I could have bypass college all together, what a waist of time, I eventually paid them off
You can find her on brazzers
The bigger indicator of poverty isn't student loan debt, it's having a child out of wedlock and being a single parent. Keep those legs closed or use protection ladies. It's not worth it.
The mother in this case was raped by some thug in Baltimore. She should have had an abortion but the thug that raped her should have been castrated and then shot. P.S (guess the race of the thug that raped her)
How the hell do you know that?
I watched the full version of this and contacted one of the people involved in the production of the episode.
no you didn't
I've never voted Democrat/Liberal in my life. Actually, being called a Liberal is more offensive to me then being called anything else I can think of. I assumed this girl got knocked up in college, if she was raped by some thug, ya I hope he gets castrated.
22:35. Now, that is the sad part.
Nope. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
I wouldn't wipe my arse with a university degree.
She majored in Sociology..cmon. And she agreed to these loans. Goddd, don't be silly.
Roberto the interest is the issue
Women love those kind of degrees. I.T. is too hard and no fun for them.
@@nikiameekins6022 congratulations! I think that's just the common sentiment i hear all of the time.
a little off topic, but do you mind me asking you what do you think went wrong with the gabriel fernandez case? i heard the social workers just dropped the ball.
Why does her house a mess? She needs to throw a lot of stuff out!
no handout for you! vote TRUMP 2024
Unfortunately she's a classic example of education in America. Debt for diploma. It's a scam.
If they want 4 additional years of childhood with better parties and more liberty, then they should have to pay for it out of their own pockets later on. The extremely skilled in academics already have scholarships. Those that study useless majors are usually just there to socialize and have fun, with the degree as an excuse.
why should the average American taxpayer pay for all these clueless people to have four years off from the real world.
William Chen
Those kids will all be feeling differently when it's their turn to pay for the younger generations.
I wonder why the average taxpayer doesn't speak up more about all these strange government programs that cater to dumb people and make them even poorer.
Yes dear it’s just $900 a month
America isnt so great !
Anyone else here because of their English class?
I feel Gina's pain. And i hate talking to the reps ... They treat you like crap. They talk to you like they're so much higher than you.
I would enjoy a dr Seuss book about Gina mosses debt
If you have a disabled son you can use his Social security open up a bank account and put your money in there or put your money in PayPal. Save money that way. A house using his Social security a car.
Not married. Made a horrible decision for school.
This young lady reallt broke my heart i wish she was married to her
The comment section is cancer stay away
It get funnier every year.
President pretend to care about students drowning in debt.
Politicians say what will get them votes.
I can't help but to fall out my chair.
WERE NOT FOR STUDENT LOANS, COLLEGES WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSORS WOULD GO ON ENTITLEMENTS. THESE STUDENT LOANS ARE GIVING THE PROFESSORS A VERY GOOD LIFE. THE PROFESSORS WANT TO BE PC AND NOT TELL THESE STUDENTS THEY ARE STUPID AND DUMB.
the academic complex is a burden on US taxpayer. who has the guts to take it on and the democrats?
Obviously student loans are a good thing, it's just the way they are collected is important to discuss. Australia's system has the debt paid off by taking an amount directly out of paychecks. Debt still gets paid back and graduates don't go bankrupt and fall further into debt.
End all student loan debt now. Free this generation.
You mean end all student loans first. You got the cart before the horse. And people want those loans as an option.
Am I supposed to feel bad or something?
Where is the Father?
That kid looks mixed.... Enough said
stripper...it's inevitable
I really believe that Network Marketing is for people who are facing situations like this. It's a matter of exploring the Network Marketing profession to see what it is and how it works. Anyone can research this profession on their own or contact me and I will send them info so they can make the personal choice. This story is too sad for words.
What a shock that a useless single mother raises another useless single mother...total non contributory anchor on society. Next time get a STEM degree and a husband.
Makenna wilson - you have issues. Ur just a stupid troll trying to get likes. How dare u say things like that. I feel sorry for you. At least she tries hard and do try to look for work! And graduated college. You probably go rob ppl or live under your parents. Or sell drugs.
Why don't u do us all a favor and dig a hole in the middle of nowhere and STAY there.
Panda 2007 you definetly majored in liberal arts or anthropology or some useless major too
Mohamed Abostate
And probably a single mother.
STEM field is severely underpaid and is not worth the stress to memorize the information. A UPS worker can make more money in a lifetime than a MD...
Join the military. Great educational benefits.
Why doesn’t she get help from her husband? Oh wait, single moms beget single moms. That’s feminism right there. It was all a lie.
