This harbourside Canada Day Festival in Oakville boasts a fantastic talent lineup -- all with no admission, a great value for families and people of all ages.
Sixteen acts featuring close to forty talented Canadian performers offering a wildly diverse range of award-winning, quality entertainment, will delight audiences on three different stages: Boardwalk Stage -Bronte Rd, south of Lakeshore, Gazebo Stage, Bronte Waterfront Heritage Park, and Centriller Square stage east of Lakeshore Rd. W.
A featured performer is Ryan Laird, Ontario born, Nashville grown acoustic guitarist, "the boy next door", coming home to play for Canadian fans. Laird's influences include Keith Urban, Sting, Stevie Ray Vaughan, James Taylor, and John Mayer.
Finishing off the evening on the Gazebo Stage and taking us up to the fireworks will be our Headliner 2008 Juno-nominated R&B Recording of the Year, God Made Me Funky. (GMMF) is the Funky live ensemble, out of Toronto, comprised of a diverse array of musicians ranging from classically trained jazz artists, to street schooled Hip-Hop & R&B vocalists, all of which share the bond of moving crowds and bringing the Nu-Funk to the next level. Sounds like....Sly meets Parliament Funkadelic meets Jamiroquai meets Afrika Bambatta.
