The guy on the talkbox is Roger Troutman, you should listen to his band Zapp's songs "I Want To Be Your Man," "Computer Love" and "More Bounce to the Ounce"
This track was HUGE so many good and bad memories. The whole east vs west was crazy. Im in New Zealand and even here at high school if you played any East Coast you'd get the bash! It was so stupid and ended with the world losing two amazing artists. Theres a Part 2 which is laid back
Part Two is really the original. It was supposed to be on Dres second solo album. However Suge bonded PAC out of Prison on a million dollar appeals bond. Suge told Dre, Pac needs a single. So Dre approached Pac with it. Then this version was written, produced, and released to us.

The video was patterned after "Mad Max Beyond Thunder Dome". It stars Mel Gibson and Tina Turner. You should react to it. It was a good and different type of movie.
This song and video was epic at the time is was constantly on tv and requested on radio and the parties it would be on repeat. It got overplayed so much and we never got sick of it.
So true, it’s impossible to get sick of it! This and No Diggity are paired in my mind as absolute stone cold fucking classics from this time. Never feel anything but glee on hearing them.
2Pac is the G.O.A.T. IMO. His energy and passion was unmatched. He has a track for any mood you may be feeling and he had such a powerful message that he delivered through his music.
I love all of the 90’s rappers!! No competition to me. Honestly I’ve done so much research trying to figure out their feud and it seems to have possibly stemmed from a misunderstanding. So sad that two of the most talented men alive lost their lives.
Ohmigod. You haven't delved into Tupac yet? You are so lucky that you get to experience that for the first time. That man was a poet. Lived through the 90s here in Toronto, didn't care about East, West, none of it. It was just jam after jam.
Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and everyone of that era made up my teen years. They are some of my favorite all time artists. Anything from Dre's album The Chronic, Snoop's Album Doggystyle, or pretty much any 2Pac album will always bring some great beats and good times. Check out Murder Was the Case by Snoop, and Natural Born Killaz by Dre and Ice Cube. They're a little bit of the darker side of the artists, but great songs.
Tupac was brilliant. His work spans so many different topics and vibes. No matter what, he always brought the real. "Changes" is one of my favorites that really speaks to the racial issues in our country. I highly recommend you check it out.
Even white kids in the 90s who were rock and metal heads loved this song and a lot of other 90s hip hop. I was one of them. Still a metal head but listen to everything. It's a good way to be.

growing up 90's was a great time for hip hop. There were club songs, gangsta rap, and thought provoking rap.. it was timeless and videos became more elaborate and Yo! MTV Raps, MTV Jams, BET 106 and Park, and the Box were always what I put on after school.
There was a part 2 to this and Ice Cube's Today was a good day. The sequel to this is the remixed version of California Love... it literally takes place as Pac is waking up. The sequal to today was a good day is called "Check Yo Self"

In the middle 90's rappers from middle 80's were oldschool, based on 2pac's song "Old School" (1995). So, basically 2011 Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, A$AP Rocky etc. are oldschool already :D
When I was 17 in 1997 a bunch of Southern California teenagers went on a snowboarding trip. We we’re bused into Jackson Hole Wyoming and increased the population by 10x overnight. Funny line coming from him since 2Pac is originally from NY. LOL. I like both sides.
