Interesting comparison. I prefer the thicker sound of the front facing Icom speaker. On the other video I noticed the IC-7200 has an AGC/noise response that I prefer compared to the FT-891. Maybe it’s your settings. I find that most modern AGC are setup to boost everything (including no signal noise) as opposed to allowing the user to set the no signal volume and then let the AGC limit the stronger signals. Maybe I’m expecting an AGC to do what a compressor/limiter does but I’m tempted to build a photoelectric compressor to put in the audio chain for shack use or perhaps fit into an external speaker.
