I have to disagree. The soundtrack is different lately, but it fits the direction developers went perfectly. Rift Apart has quite a lot of bangers and one of my favorite tracks from the series is the main theme of Into the Nexus:)
@gold_gear You don't need near the entire soundtrack being orchestral that sounds like a film soundtrack. Shooting colourful cartoon-esque aliens doesn't particularly need 'emotional weight' from orchestral. The games OST severely lacks in adding a particular atmoshpere & personality to each planet which is a big part of what added such unique character to the environments explored. The fact that you point out an older games song being your most notable banger from Rift Apart illustrates that it's OST is lacking. It's ok that you're happy with orchestral and don't want breakbeat, acid, house, techno, big beat, groove, funk, jazz, spy themes & then orchestral for that big impact when it suits like the OG Drek battle. This franchise is regarded by many of having some of the best soundtracks in videogame history, even media in general. They're lacking these days absolutely and they reall could smash it out the park with their OSTs for new fans & old ones alike but they play it too safe & the tracks are mostly forgettable as none really stand out on their own
@@cryopodbug as much as I love the PS2 soundtracks, I still think the newer games have really atmospheric music that fits the environments. If you’re not a fan of the orchestra, that's fine, but I am vibing with it the same way I vibe with the music of the older games.
@@gold_gear I like orchestral music and it's not that the songs are bad, just imo lacking in that varied unique identity that made each song & planet standout more. It's great you still get that same level of enjoyment out of it! I think overall the franchise would benefit with both styles, depending on the context of the planet and the current story beat :)
The first three games have the best soundtracks, most of the levels had amazing tracks that usually had a lot to do with the level, now its not the same.
3:00 How is Gemlik Base still one of the most atmospheric space tracks in all of video games but it still fucking grooves so hard its crazy. David Bergeaud was a madman
I felt sad when they did not include that level in the Remake version :/ Orxon and Gemlik Base were some of my favorites. Eudora was fun and "zen" to play and Hoven was interesting too. To be fair i did not like planet Oltanis , the enemies, the ice and the constant platforms were annoying to me. The infiltrator level inside Drekks fleet was very interesting, like a Metal gear ratchet version of 2022, very fun.
Yes. Yes. YES. the chad with anime dark eyes with the Veldin in Peril theme. Exactly that. Your home in life threatening danger. You only come back safe after Destroying your Op.
todavia no, lo estaba haciendo pero le puse pausa por varrias cosas que pasaban, cuando pueda lo voy a reanudar, quiero poner varios canales y bots para que no pasen cosas indevidas
Ratchet & Clank is the ultimate 'they don't make 'em like they used to'. The soundtracks are so dull these days and all it's edge was ironed out

They showed it to someone recently and they called it Goth core. Like some shit that people would listen to in a sex dungeon. It kind of makes sense.
Peak ost.
Only memorable sounds in that great early 2000 sampled style
We need more folks to hear this shit.
Pokitaru: just lying on the beach.
YES! Batalia does remind me of a warzone or battlefield full of soldiers
