Seems worse than the broken Bust the Dust kit. EA, guys, for the love of Grim, _please._ Prioritize bugs rather than deadlines.
For real, it works for absolutely no one! Seriously, how could they even release this event in the state that it's in?? No one would care if they released it a few days later, so they could actually have a functioning event💀
That’s really odd, my game worked just fine. I finished the first week of the event already. My guess would be that it’s your packs that potentially could be messing with the event. Idk tho I’m just guessing. Edit: it seems packs make no difference so my guess was wrong.
Hi Nora ♥ I completed both first week's quests. Try planting the plants in the planter bowls, that worked for me. By the way I wish you good luck with your channels, I love your builds, they're really something else (in a good way). Also you have such fun aura and your accent is very cute. ♥

some help for nora & anyone else anyone struggling to make this event work: i defo recommend disabling mods - especially better build buy, which seems to be the main one breaking things. then delete the "accountDataDB" package file from your sims 4 folder and reopen the game. this will reset all your progress with the tasks, but it should actually work this time. (note: for those of you using mccc, i've been able to get the tasks to work with mccc & mccc woohoo installed. just remove all other mods from your game until you've completed the event tasks) also, DO NOT enter create a sim or close the game before you've completed all the tasks for the week. doing so will permanently break the task list ui so it's just an empty box if you do end up with the broken task box, delete the "accountDataDB" package file from your sims 4 folder and reopen the game. again, this will reset all your progress with the tasks, but as far as i can tell it's literally the only way to fix this ui bug hopefully this helps ppl until ea release a patch for these bugs!! (i stg if they don't fix it Very Soon i may actually scream 😭😭)

for real😭 i played during they released it and then my game crashed and after i logged in again it was here i was really excited tho (bc of the rewards and that bike lol) but after i plant the flowers in a pot (it actually worked) i was stuck, because i could freaking not claim my rewards in the live mode ARGH
yess i also want that bike hahah! and ughhhh what a frustrating experience. I really hope we manage to make it through this event in one piece (and get all the rewards) or i'm gonna start sending some angry emails😤😤
For me it was not working either until I backed up the game via Steam and updated all my mods. Even the T.O.O.L mod. Then suddenly the planting worked. I had tried both planting in boxes and on ground, neither worked until I backed up the game. But now I can't claim the Freezer Boney. Well it says I can, but I just can't get it. It is not in build/buy. It is not in my sims' inventory. Just can't get it. So frustrating.
In my game i was having issues with planting even with clicking off mods and cc entirely. However, the only thing that fixed it for me was taking better build buy out of my mods folder entirely. So i think the issues might be tied to build mode mods maybe?
How strange, my game didn't bug at any point and I managed to finish the challenge in 2 hours without any problems (I spent 50% of the time creating the character to be honest)
I have not played my game in like a month and I was so excited to see what this new Grim Reaper thing was... so I went in, did a couple of his requests and then the whole questline just went blank. I heard that if one goes and does a repair sometimes the quests come back but I am not sure I can bring myself to care anymore. The Artists pack looks AMAZING!!!! BUT will we ever be able to enjoy it?

If you have the TOOL mod or betterbuildbuy, it won't work. I had the same issue with the plants not registering as having been planted. Disabled betterbuildbuy in-game, restarted the game and closed it again, removed the bbb folder from my mods folder and repaired the game in the ea app and then it worked fine. Since I got all the rewards for this week I just popped bbb back in my game, and I guess I'll remove it again when I do the rest of the challenge. I haven't had any freezes or crashes though, like a lot of other folks have reported.

Except, of course, the mail carrier got stuck on my lot, the grimophone wouldn't summon Grim, and my game crashed once. Now, I'm stuck with that bloody UI menu for the next several weeks. Argh and grrr.
@JustNoraGaming2 You should have seen it. She stood by the mail box for several sim hours, waving her arms the way sims do when they can't route. I had my sim take her toddler to visit grandma, and that freed the mail carrier. But sheesh!
Yesterday on the bug report forum I read that EA team had already started investigation to solve the many bugs on this event. So many people have problems 😩 After the latest updates strange things are happening to me in the san myshuno neighborhood too, but that is another sad story 😓 Anyway, Nora I love your enthusiasm and I want to try your shell challenge, it will be the first for me 😄

some people made it work by removing the mods file....apparently even the tool and bb are incompatible with the event

I also finished the event, within 30-40mins and no bugs. I don’t have many packs/ expansions- so I think you’re on to something
Yea, I think it could be because of the paranormal stuff pack, because you get an extra task if you have it

Hello nice video as always ❤️ I would recommend you to take the tool mod out of the game, then you can also open the Reward menu 😁

Same thing happened to me! I went to manage world or CAS then it worked!
To go to the UI you click the little reaper icon on the challenge menu.
Tool needs taken out and BetterBuildBuy need to be disabled.
Worked for me, but I had zero mods going
