Hi folks, this is Max: client, desk jockey, nit-picker, CAD modeler, feature-creeper, and co-designer of this wonderful contraption. Not to wax poetic, but I think there comes a time in every man's life when he realizes he needs a new desk and hires a complete stranger on TH-cam halfway around the world to make him a new one (well, Scott may be the exception, here--he would probably just build his own desk--though I believe he buys his pants from a different channel). What I'm trying to say here is thank you, Scott. When I say that this is the desk of my dreams, I mean that I literally intend to do most of my sleeping at it from here on out. All meals are of course a given. And someday, when my children ask about the desk they were conceived on top of, I will share this video with them and we will gaze in wonder at the skill, dedication, beer and colorful language that went into its construction. To all the people asking in the comments if the client is a rich guy: give us a break, it's a desk, not a DeLorean. Oh hey, that gives me an idea for a desk! Scott, can we--eh, never mind. Next time. I think a few people were asking to see what the desk looks like once it's all rigged up; fair enough. I will try to put together a video of my own showcasing it in its full glory before it disappears under a mound of pizza boxes and Diet Coke cans. And to those of you providing insightful, constructive criticism and suggestions: you are wrong. The desk is perfect, and you should know better. Just kiddin'. You guys are great. You may have a point about the casters, and it's too bad The Hatch didn't come together, and now that you mention it we probably SHOULD have found room for a rotisserie grill, but these are all issues that I will work out with Scott for Desk 3.0 sometime next year, or as soon as he stops blocking my calls. Scott is the real deal, guys. He had a great attitude throughout, was always upbeat, and put up with me even at full deskzilla. A true pro. This desk is a one of a kind and must never fall into the wrong hands, but if you're in the market for something nearly as nice, I think you owe it to yourself to drop him a line. Thanks again, Scott!
Hey, just because you wrote those wonderful, generous and kind words; and I smiled and laughed the whole time, that you are getting a discount! It was a truly memorable project! I was going to the delivery folks today, but, maybe I just keep the desk. I need something in my shed to stack my pallet wood on :) It was a privilege working with you Max and I sincerely hope you enjoy the desk. If kids are conceived on it, then all the better. Cheers!

Scott, this desk is a true work of art! Fantastic job. Anybody would be proud to own something similar. Thanks to you and Max for sharing the adventure.
At first, I thought you were making the desk from an old singer sewing machine stand only to realise you actually made it. WOW! that was a fantastic GREAT job, keep up the good work...
Can't think of a reason that I would need a desk like this, I've got no need for one at all. But this is one of those items that you just want, and would be proud to have in your home. Beautiful Job.
Mr. Turner, you have found your calling. I'm not sure how easy it is to eek out a living making beautiful things like this, but I truly hope that you can continue to inspire the world with your work. With the months and years it takes to design, acquire materials, create and assemble, all while diligently maintaining a channel dedicated to showcasing the same... Well I just can't thank you enough. It is not hyperbole to say we live in a world where we're all dying to get the latest junk from China, only to discard it with such carelessness that it now begins to clog, ferment and disrupt the natural systems of God's pure oceans. You, sir, are doing your part to show us _all_ a different way by methodically building items so cherished, that their care is assured for generations. Thank you.
Such a privilege to see construction of a unique piece of work from the ground up. All credit to you, I dream of having half your skills. But as you say the far and wide reach of the web is truly amazing. If nothing it has certainly inspired me to actually get off my arse and do something with mine. Incredibly high quality items meticulously crafted with only one objective in mind to surpass your customers expectations.... a very lucky chap. Keep up the great work!

I just wish I wasn't a trillion miles away so I could stop by and shake your hand. Amazing work Scott! Thank you! I'm actually working on my computer desk today (and yesterday and tomorrow I'm sure). You've raised the bar and I needed that!

Hi Scott I am in the uk I think it should be in a museum so every can see it’s a masterpiece What a fantastic piece of furniture your a master craftsman your video was a pleasure to watch all the best can not wait for the next one kind regards David
The way the desk is designed it looks like it should transform into something, perhaps an even more elaborate desk, perhaps a briefcase, it just has this look about it that it's about to do something weirdly mechanical and unexpected. But no, it's just a really nice desk with a slidey bit. Fantastic work, as always, a joy to watch.
Scott, with the exception of the very first and the last few words, I respectfully agree with Judy's words. I'm new on this channel, but subscribed immediately. Thanks for sharing!

At first, I thought you were making the desk from an old singer sewing machine stand only to realise you actually made it. WOW! that was a fantastic GREAT job, keep up the good work...
Singer made some very beautiful tables for their machines in the day. Thank you!
I've just discovered this channel and have spent the last couple of hours watching a true master craftsman at work.
Fabulous content thankyou.
So much appreciated, thankyou Matthew
Thanks for a great watch and love your work 🇮🇪🍀👍
Thank you!
Can't think of a reason that I would need a desk like this, I've got no need for one at all. But this is one of those items that you just want, and would be proud to have in your home. Beautiful Job.
Thank you so much!
Awesome build mate. A great collaboration of timber, metal & electronics to produce a modern day industrial art piece.
Huge thanks Paul!
Just plain AWESOME, a true Craftsman at his Best. When wood and metal is beautiful.
Much appreciated Barry!
Thank you.
Truely, I appreciate your comment!! Thank you for your encouragement! All the best.
This is what true craftsmanship looks like... Great Piece!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Really amazing build. The care and craftsmanship you put into your work is really impressive.
Thank you!
I love how you took the idea of a dirt common computer desk, the likes of which you can buy at Target or Wal Mart, and turned it into art.
That's the goal - Thanks Jay!
Passing back a Huge Thanks Tony! Wonderful comment - cheers!
When I first clicked on this video, I didn't read the description - I just thought "Another resto video. I like the old design." , then found out how wrong I was!!! This is why I subbed! I have seen other videos of builds from this guy and I love his work!!! kudos!

I'll preface this with the fact that I don't like desks that tiny, but... your desk looks good enough to eat. Beautiful, just beautiful.
cool, thank you!!
A thumbs up if we "think it deserves it"? That for me is one of the best (if not the BEST) videos/projects I've seen yet from any Maker! I just wish I wasn't a trillion miles away so I could stop by and shake your hand. Amazing work Scott! Thank you! I'm actually working on my computer desk today (and yesterday and tomorrow I'm sure). You've raised the bar and I needed that!
Huge thank you Thomas and very much appreciated. You are welcome to drop by anytime.

Hi Scott I am in the uk I think it should be in a museum so every can see it’s a masterpiece
What a fantastic piece of furniture your a master craftsman your video was a pleasure to watch all the best can not wait for the next one kind regards David
Huge thanks David! Museum maybe long after I'm gone :)
Thank you! Actually there was something very special planned That I just couldn't pull off this time. Oh well.
Scott, with the exception of the very first and the last few words, I respectfully agree with Judy's words. I'm new on this channel, but subscribed immediately. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Matthew! Welding is a handy skill to pick up for sure.
I started watching this as I started my breakfast ....... I now have a cold cup of tea and cold spicy pork. Never mind it was worth it watching this master class. Well done.
