I went to the mansfield mass show and this show in hartford ,,, the mansfield show was a hot summer saturday night and the band was freakin awsome ..... there was 15 to 20 thousand people at that show ,,,, it was one big party .... the harford show was a rainy tuesday night in the city....and they sounded awsome ......and there was 15 thousand getting wet and having a good time .....van halen is the greatest rock band rain or shine ......van fucken halen.......
I was at the Hartford show. I totally don't remember it being rainy but I had a pavilion seat so maybe it didn't matter. One reason I never buy lawn seats.
I know this clip is from 2015 but it seems to me Eddie looks more relaxed, laid back and happier than he has in a long time. Van Halen rules and always will!
Eddie was clearly what made Van Halen great! The guy knew how to write a song. Dave messed up BIG TIME not realizing early on that the only irreplaceable member was Ed. Eat em and smile, Skyscraper, a little ain’t enough could have been VH records. I wonder if a good DJ could sample some of Dave’s eat em & smile and Skyscraper with some 5150 and OU812 and get a few more VH songs?
Do assholes realize these recordings aren't mixed, are mostly recorded on cell phones, and that being said, the band, including Dave, still overall sound awesome. Long live the mighty 'Halen!!
Mike Mathieu I love Van Halen and Eddie remains the greatest guitarist on the face of the Earth. That being said, DLR has been an utter disgrace on this tour. I really don't see how that can be argued. When a band charges what they charge, a singer should be ready to go come tour time and he just wasn't ready.
Bryan Berube I want to disagree with you Bryan, but I just can't after listening to more clips and subsequent shows. Overall, Dave just isn't the vocal god he was 30 years ago and it sucks because I see glimpses of it. I hear moments where he's the old DLR from 1983, but then he sings off key, screws up lyrics, does these "high-pitch", off key, out of synch vocal runs and butchers the music. Then on the next song he's 90% in the pocket. He's a vocal rollercoaster ride that no one wants to get on. But I can't say he's completely washed up. Dave's gotta get his head in the game like it was in 07'. He sounds way better now than he did on the 2012 tour. He was just beyond awful.

Nice I was able to get some from Wolfgang when the stage crew were throwing them after the show. I also manage to get one from Kenny Wayne Shepherd from when they finished their set list.
I bought these pics from the vanhalen store, the stripes are printed on and come off really easy.. I was disappointed by that. It looks like the strips on the one you have are coming off too. why would he use such cheap graphic application?
@@antonharboe_5668 its actually because of the tuning, you can play it with a capo on the 4th fret but if you watch videos of Eddie he used a miniature Les Paul copy due to the tuning and string tension.
I see Van Halen to see ALL of Van Halen!!! So sick and fucking tired of hearing that Bass players and Drummer's and whomever isn't an integral part of the band and that their replaceable. VH in their original lineup were kings.. ALL of them
All I can say is: I miss Mike. and, Dave should have retired to an off the strip Vegas revue decades ago. Glad there is TH-cam to relive VH's heyday. This was not so good.
DLR sounds terrible. Eddie sounds great. Wolfgang is basically Valerie Bertinelli on bass. The lack of the glue named Michael Anthony makes this tandem sound a total mess.
Boy, that’s the closest I’ve ever heard Dave sing live doin the right rhythm & phrasing the lyrics to any VH song. And it still wasn’t that great. Why does he always have to sing the song so different that he thinks everybody likes it? Cuz I don’t! When he first tried out to sing when he went to Eddie’s house and Eddie hit one note on the piano and told him to sing that note Ed should have just stayed with not letting him in the band! And Dave charging them less to use his P.A. and letting him sing once in a while, they should have used someone else’s P.A., preferably somebody that can sings P.A. I love their early music and all the album version when he sang in the studio cuz he probably had the producer on his ass to sing correctly the songs. But it’s like he has to just fuck up all the songs when he sings live. I don’t know if he took vocal lesson or what but if he did he’s still shitty. And if he didn’t, why not, if that’s what he wanted more to be is a show tunes type of singer, ya still think he would’ve taken lessons or tried harder. And that’s why I like Sammy in the band, he could sing great and he’s also a great song writer! And that’s what other musicians need around and in their bands so the can learn and expand their musical abilities! I’m done pissin & moaning! Awesome video!✌🏼
