Herc would probably have worse problems than an arm injury at this point.... Neural connections to that Jaeger with that damage done would probably have killed them because of the stress.
Thats not how tandem charge works. Main point of tandem charge is to defeat armor covered by reactive armor. A smaller charge at the front contacts first, detonating the reactive armor, allowing the main charge to follow up and strike the now uncovered surface. Matter of fact, your missile performed worse when the bomb didn't explode on contact.
