Riot seemed to have stepped up their game in narrative building before the big matches seemingly because of Monte and thorin shouting from the rooftops about it and even doing it themselves 🤣
It's incredible how well this video aged within just a week of it being made. The foresight to set the stage for the final against Faker, so that it applies as well for the final as it does for the semis. Shoutout to Thorin for writing and narrative, and shoutout to Deft for sticking it out for 10 years after success and heartbreak, through superteams and underwhelming lineups to make the greatest underdog story in League of Legends history a reality.

this is the craziest final ever in terms of storyline, deft on a warpath defeating all his former teammates after a career of disappointment in worlds to now have his final showdown vs the final boss of league alongside his former support and good friend keria. Zeka defeating the greatest midlaners in the world and blowing up as a talent on the group stage to then face the only player whos done something simular almost 10 years earlier. a kindred otp thats gone from a soloq streamer to now wins his way to the final with his signature champ. faker looking for his fourth world title alongside a roster full of young talent almost completely home developed by the org he help build. this final is completely crazy
Love these video pieces. People forget that the EDG MSI win over SKT was 7 years ago. The only Bo5 loss SKT sustained that year. This man with the exception of once or twice in his career has consistently been one of LoL's elite ADCs. Impossible consistency in performance.

He did it. Not only did he win, but he took out Oner for Pyosik to secure Elder. Deft earned it by his own hands. DRX played amazingly, even from behind.
He's been on sooo many super teams, sooo many titles but no worlds. Samsung Blue, EDG, KT... Now on a humble drx as the last lck seed to go to worlds, it seems pressure is no longer there for him and he's just able to lay it all out no matter the situation
Watching this as he made finals today. Absolute chills. Been following defts career ever since he came back to korea with kt and watched almost every game they played thereafter. I was there with HLE and im there with DRX now. Even if they fall in the final, the pressure and pain they went through to even qualify is beyond words. From a negative Win Rate in the LCK to a final in worlds, facing the thoughest opponents there is. The dance contiunes
Maybe thorin should go coaching a team next year, that speech is rivalring yamatos epic motivational speeches. Also never thought I would hear thorin talkin for 3 minutes without insulting anyone in my life lol. Jokes aside tho: Holy bonkers… got absolute chills from this gem, thank you thorin.
