Sorry about that! Re-uploaded now with hopefully fixed music. Thanks for the feedback. Don't hate me if your favourite character is on this list! In all seriousness though I had a lot of fun with this list. As always, 'weakest' is a pretty loose term and I've tried to be all-encompassing with the criteria. I'd love to see your own list too!
*Theory:* That was actually Ichigo's Shikai, as Juha Bach stole his Quincy Powers and that changed the composition of his Bankai, so much so, that it could no longer maintain its form. Zangetsu was repaired as a past version of itself, a version where Ichigo had those powers, so when Juha Bach blocked it, the superficial shell broke to reveal the real Zangetsu, as it was as a normal Asauchi.
@@douglascramer1501 nah juha bach absorbed a lot of his quincy and hollow powers but juha bach could never steal the origin of his power which is a single being kind of split in 2 is zangetsu (shinigami+hollow+quincy powers) and that is also the reason why when juha bach activated his aushwahlen he couldnt steal ichigo's quicy power even though he is a mixed blood
I would argue that Rangiku's zanpakuto is limited more by her inability to use it properly rather than it being inherently weak. Had she been training with it as long as Byakuya had trained to use Senbonsakura, I imagine it would be just as good. Just my take on it.
@@malcolmisgee nah , Omaeda had a really useless zampakutou in itself , same goes for Zenosuke or even Komamura. Haineko is pretty much a senbonzakura been wielded by a less talented person , simple as that , the blade is fine , but Rangiku is simply not skilled enough. Hanatarou is one that could be fine with his zampakutou if he was skilled in martial arts , because it's just a matter of fighting in an asauchi state , heal a bunch of wounds of himself in shikai to use in the enemy and them continues on asauchi. For a medical division character , it's useful enough.
I feel Rangiku could have used Haineko as a suffocating weapon! When she goes Shikai Rangiku could easily send the sand into the lungs of her opponent and shred them from the inside out. She could also fill their lungs with her sand until they can’t breathe
I feel Rangiku could have use her chest as a suffocating weapon! When she goes Shikai Rangiku could easily blinds her opponent and suffocate them with her chest until they can't breathe.
Right? Making your enemies inhale the ash is probably one of the best tactics to use with Haineko. I think they just didn’t want to make Rangiku too op? Imagine an ability that suffocates and chops you up from the inside.
Honestly it's a really versatile weapon, Rangiku didn't get too many chances to use it all out in a fair fight, but she could definitely make better use of it
I think there are more interesting abilities Kubo could have given Haineko's shikai form such as teleportation, ash clones, ash constructs and temporarily turning things into ash.
Hisagomaru would be the most OP weapon if it belonged to someone who's battle-minded. Hanataro could infinitely heal himself and constantly fire getsuga tenshou-like attacks.
Assuming Hanataro can heal himself, he can fill the gauge with his own injuries and attack. As he restores himself, he'd be a beast in hour-long fights.
Kubo’s at his finest. Create so many incredible characters and starts many very interesting plot lines to only throw everything in the garbage or just don’t write about it anymore. Ikkaku’s was one of the most impressive shinigami at the time. Imagine if instead of making him look like shit, Vaste Lorde would’ve have been that strong? The story would’ve been so much better. We would’ve feared the espada.
@@senobi4618 Wait, wait, wait. I absoloutely loved the first time he used Bankai too, I cummed in that moment, BUT the fact that the Arrancar against him was not a Vasto Lorde is literally only coherence. Let's not fight one of the few times Kubo demonstrated coherence, if you're not a captain you have no chances against a Vasto Lorde, even if you mastered Bankai, and Ikkaku was not even a Lieutenant

Hanataro has a super powerful shikai, particularly for a kido user or a hakudo user. It's effectively self sustain. You can tank anything that doesn't kill you by healing yourself and ultimately turning all that damage into an attack.
It really makes you wonder how Omaeda made the Stealth Force at all. Sure he's shown himself to be wholesome smuggling in people from the worst areas of the Rukon after the war but still, that Zanpakuto seems only fit for crushing and forming diamonds as he does in his postwar occupation.
@@corruptangel6793 True that. Mareoshin has quite the reputation even calling out Soifon, accusing her of slacking off in one of the novels. All she could do was splutter and apologize.

@@bwestacado9643 Most of the upper crust nobles of Soul Society are either snobbishly unlikable or complete power tripping psychos. No doubt Omaeda got his position via nepotism.
I honestly wonder if Ikkaku's bankai was hurt by its immature nature. It had power, but its brittle nature might have to do with how much Ikkaku himself needs to grow before he reaches his full potential, much like how Renji reached his potential near the end of the story.
Ikkaku's bankai suffered because of Ikkaku himself, no one else. Had he bothered training, he wouldn't have been pressed into becoming a captain while having a fully realized zanpaktou. Renji is hands down among the stronger members of the gotei and everyone knows he has a bankai, yet he's still serving as Byakuya's lieutenant so Ikkaku being afraid of being promoted comes across as hollow.
@@demon2441 dont forget shuhei as well he achieve bankai by training his ass off. I probably have to remind you that Aizen stole something from Mastsumoto when she was young. And it may be what he stole was her true potential with her zanpakuto. So what we see her used is a pale shadow of a true power, yet she was still Able to rise to the level of a lieutenant and be respected as one of the best Soul Reapers in the soul Society
If we knew more about it, then it could potentially be really dangerous. Imagine her flooding your body with ash and then cutting you from the inside out
@@glowhoo9226 releases it and doesn't say anything. Let's you breathe. "You've activated my trap!" Commands haineko to bifurcate her enemy from the inside
My theory behind Heineko, is that it was modified by Gin Ichimaru giving her part of his soul, after Aizen stole some of it, which is why both their Zanpakuto take the form of particles. It also explains why Rangiku hasn't developed a Bankai, even though she is very close with her Zanpakuto Spirit and an older member of the Gotei 13. It is very possible that Gin's Bankai was incomplete, lacking the control necessary to use it like Heineko. Gin was mostly a threat because of his martial skill as a Shinigami, being the only member of Aizen's faction that didn't get a power boost from the Hogyoku.
*Theory:* Ichigo's Bankai seen at the end was actually his Shikai, since Juha Bach absorbed his Quincy Powers and his hollow powers were already merged with his Zanpakuto. This sets up another Arc where Ichigo can relearn his Bankai and still get a significant nerf, just like at the end of the Fake Karakura Town Arc. *Note:* Ichigo's power was also unstable usually, having explosive highs and extreme lows, as his 3 powers fought to gain balance. This is also why he had to wake up his Quincy Powers, in his fight with Juha Bach, so that he could properly integrate it before going into Bankai, to increase the stability of his power. *Edit:* Ichigo never actually learned how to use his Bankai, it was always his Quincy Powers that forced cooperation. With his Quincy Powers gone, he has to relearn his Bankai, as it no longer has his Quincy Powers intertwined with it, making its internal composition and abilities different.
@@GrutenZylos I think that to, for me Ichigo's zanpakuto it's lazy the only things he can do is grown faster and throw energy slashes, basic abilities, Ichigo is like Goku but with a sword!🤭
Lol when I see Renjis sword I automatically think about Bleach Abridged when Renji loses a fight and says “I’m not stronger than a non canon fireball.” 😂🤣
People don't give Renji enough credit, he is basically Bleach's Piccolo, being a technical fighter but not being written well to emphasize his strength. For example, we see that Zabimaru can be used to corner an opponent by manipulating the battlefield, as Renji did against Espada #8. Piccolo could easily use Multiform and Special Beam Cannon to overcome power gaps, as his Ki control is the best out of all of DBZ, able to create a weak attack that can be lethal, due to its structure, like Krillin's Destructo Disc.
Nanao's Shinken Hakkyoken should be on this list. It literally is only useful in 1 situation, which is against a God made out of light which conveniently turns out to be Lil Baro.
@@boxiannn her zampakutou is useful to all gods , so while it is a plot armor materialised , it's useful enough , as Bleach had plenty of gods as long you are powered-up from a fragment of the SK.
@@boxiannn That's not entirely true, as Nanao's Family is an established pillar of Soul Society, from the very beginning of the Series, which was precisely for that weapon and the role their Clan is supposed to play. You could argue that out of all of the Soul Society, only her Family could slay Juha Bach, after absorbing the Soul King, or Butterfly-Aizen, so they have a solid position in the Soul Society.
You missed a kinda key point about Rangeku's blade--it's a derivative of Gin's (remember, he saved her after Aizen and his people attacked her by basically being what Rukia did to Ichigo, and transplanting some of his reitsu into her to keep her spiritual form from collapsing), and thus could be extremely scary if her Bankai parallels his the same way her shikai does. If her blade follows the same pattern his does, turning to dust to act as a long-range weapon in the shikai, and then gaining lethal poison in the bankai, her blade could be unbelievably lethal. Imagine if Byakuya's blade shards had Gin's poison, never mind what that poison's effects look like for anybody who isn't Aizen.
Something I always had in mind for Heinako is that one scene during Fake Karakura where she uses it as a shield. If she ever managed to use that properly: she might be able to contain enough finess to manipulate it in a way that doesn't involve attacking. Even in just her Shikai state: imagine using the ability of the ash to physically hold people and objects without harming them (similar to Smokers White Out attack from One Piece) or else manifest into a solid for to attack in ways other then a blade. Senbon Zakura would still be vastly more powerful as an attack: but Rangikus would be much more versatile for other uses.
I think Hisagomaru could have seen some really creative uses, seeing as it heals both physical wounds but “wounds of the heart” which lead to hollofication as seen in the anime; which could have been used to redeem/transform some arrancar characters like Haribel, Nel and Ulquiorra, or against Gerard Valkyrie who gained power from injuries he sustained it could have been used to revert him back to a more manageable state repeatedly.
I think Rangiku's Haineko could potential be a very dangerous Zanpakuto if she practiced with it more. Imagine if she were to make it into a invisible dust cloud that her enemies would unknowingly inhale entering the lungs and bloodstream which would then allow her to shred their lungs, blood vessels, and other organs from the inside out. It would be like a more subtle version of Senbonzakura.
That man had "wild fires" and you know, when they spread that's everything in the area. Yamamoto might as well been the soul society version of the devil...
I feel like it could have been which is why what hhappened is such a shame. He wasn't Captain class so he couldn't really showcase it's true power, nor do i think he mastered it yet which would have made it very weak and fragile. I feel like it could have been up there with Komamura's in terms of sheer destructive power.
To me it always seemed like In bleach a zanpakto was as strong as its user was creative. So many characters have seemingly simple powers but they only expand on them as they become stronger. I would imagine like Yumickika, Ikaku'a Zanpakto also has some kind of other ability but he never bothered to develop it because he just wants to fight. Renji feels like a good example of this. His sword extends sort of like Ichimaru's, but he also swings it around at high speeds, uses it to grapple opponents, and breaks it apart to attack separately as projectiles. Every zanpakto probably has potential to be used in many ways, but you have to look for them and be creative.
I agree with versatility being an important part of a zanpaktou’s power. But what’sthe point where overwhelming ability in one area makes up for a lack of versatility? Nozarashi isn’t the most versatile but I don’t think anyone would consider it to be anywhere near this list. Great vid btw
Yea it's one of those things where the strength of the soul reaper really determines the strength of the zanpakuto, at least to a certain extent. If you gave kenpachi hiyori's zanpakuto he'd still be a monster. Give hanataro Aizens shikai and top tier characters wouldn't even be affected by it since according to aizen an extreme reiatsu gap can negate zanpkuto abilities.
Well you can't compare the 2 captains. If Kenpachi wasn't the Kenpachi, he'd be a fairly strong, but ultimately would be one note like Komamura. Sajin is Kenny without his immense power
@@brendonclark4705 Yeah pretty much what makes Aizen such a nightmare is his power level. Without it, he'd be mid tier and his power really wouldn't be secret to those with power levels like all the captains
@@bwestacado9643 I can't remember a time in the manga or anime where Kenpachi was much stronger than Komamura. They're both basically the same strength and durability, but Kenpachi just enjoys getting sliced up more and it eggs him on. The rest is just silly nonsense plot armor or deus ex.
@@lord_haven1114 I have to disagree with them being equal in strength. Kenpachi ate 2 bankais with his eye patch in place and he didn't know the name of his zanpakuto yet. Even if Komamura was still around, he'd be hard pressed to keep up with a fully fleshed out Kenny. His power is so intense in bankai that it begins to rip his body apart. I can agree it's plot armor, but that's how he was designed and how his arc was utilized. Even Yamamoto stated that with proper training, Kenpachi may very well surpass the head captain. He was called THE Kenpachi by the 1st Kenpachi who sacrificed herself to unleash his full strength. I think human Komamura would be decimated by Kenny's bankai and that's the strongest Komamura gets
For Tenken, I'd argue that Komamura is the problem and the Zanpakutou is stronger then we see. It mimics its user exactly, so it depends on the user's speed, if say Yoruichi used Flash Step with this thing it'd move so fast everything would be gone. But Komamura is a tank so giving him more power but also an easier target just doesn't help either.

@@ahmadjohan6571 True and I would also love to bring up the Komamura vs Soi Fon fight in the Reiga arc because it was amazing, but since the video specifically says it's only talking about the Manga I was refraining. Also of course remember Komamura is a serious Captain, he can take on 99% of the cast with his bare hands and by extension Tenken is as strong as well. We are just talking about the weapon in a practical sense and comparatively or else there's no way someone like Komamura or Renji are here at al;/
@@SantiagoOXfir So? Kenpachi has been hinted at having more raw force then Yamamoto and even Aizen didn't want to fight him without the Hyogku as the novels confirm. I think a lot of this list isn't weak zanpakutos, but weak wielders. You can't really separate them, but it's interesting that for some you take that into consideration and for others not. For Tobiume for example you take into account that someone not as skilled as Hinamori couldn't do that much with it, but for Omaida you fail to see that the fragility of his shikai is directly linked to Omaida being genuinely not that strong.
THANK YOU. I thought I was the only one seeing that this list had so many flaws and honestly poorly thought. He even put in their Zanpactos which Kubo never showed what they could achieve or do and judges them by the context in the story : Lisa vs Aizen (he says it gets cut in half). Bad list imo
agreed. think......if Unohana got Tenken, she basically have an immortal engine of destruction since the bankai is going to heal when she heals herself. or if Mayuri gets his hands on Haineko, he'll have a lovely time doing surgery inside the opponent with it. or if Yoruichi gets Hisagomaru, she can tank and spank and use the blade to heal herself until she can unleash that powerful burst. as for Tobiume.....what it lacks is Riatsu power, plenty of utility as the fireball got some unique properties, but it needed someone a lot more powerful
Omaida himself is a guy who looks big and tough on the surface (or at least his own mental image), so naturally his Zanpakutou is the same way. I had always thought that Tobiume was a kido amplifier.
21:20 I like to think that the usefulness and concept behind Hisagomaru is based off of being a support class in a video game. He can hit his allies to heal them while being on the back line, and then release a powerful blast defensively if the front line is passed, as a last resort.
If he can use it on himself I could see him taking a few hits, healing himself, and then firing a blast when he gets enough power. Its versatility would be very high as the user can heal themselves and fire a devistating long range attack after doing so. It also looks like it can store power from previous healing session so he could also just save up until a blast is actually needed. The problem is that he cant use the actual blade to hurt people but that's easily fixable by having another weapon. THEORY SECTION, DONT READ IF NOT INTRESTED. Can the thing double charge power. I dont know if he actually HAS to release the power once its stored but if he doesn't have to and it can just power up indefinitely then it becomes super OP, considering one charge can fend off an menos grande beam. I guess the whole healing himself thing is also a theory/headcanon. But its still good as long as he just stays in the back.
@@mannythelazyguy6529 Yeah... but he said he would assess the abilities of a zanpakuto. Not how well mastered they were by their user or how large the user’s reiatsu was. Why would a "mastered" Hihio Zabimaru be clumsy at all, given that it isn't the only massive bankai? While there seems to be a range limit, is there a position limit on Tenken being summoned? That adds a lot to its versatility. Additionally, is it harder for a user to swing their sword, or does Tenken feel as light as swinging a normal sword? Since Kokujo Tengen Myo'o heals with the user, could this symbiotic relationship be used to greater effect by learning kaido (healing kido) to prolong time on the battlefield similar to why Unohana even picked up the skill to begin with? I could go on. Things like this are what a video on the weakest zanpakuto is overlooking, imo.
Zabimaru is a kinda weak. I wanted Renji to surpass byakuya a little after Renji obtained bankai but all we get to see is Zabimaru getting smashed to pieces. His moves are cool with the weapon but most powerful weapons in this show aren't the huge ones
I personally think Hisagomaru can be effective in battle, but there has to be a caveat. Basically, you let yourself be attacked and damaged, and let Hisagomaru absorb the damage and heal you. After you are healed and enough damage is absorbed, you then launch the energy stored in the scalpel form. You then rinse and repeat.
One contender for this list that everybody seems to have overlooked is Tsunzakigarasu, owned by Jirōbō Ikkanzaka. For those that don't remember, he was the fourth seat that Ishida beat during the invasion arc.
Yeah, for the cost of feeding on the user’s soul, the Tsuniyashiro family zanpakutou can mimic (almost) any zanpakutou shikai in existence, and the effects scale to the reiatsu of the user. In the hands of a captain level shinigami like Tokinada, hisagomaru allowed him to regenerate an arm! Pretty damn useful. It was also interesting to see some of the highest tier zanpakutou used to a lesser extent than their original wielders. Kyoraku notes that Ryujin Jaka in Tokinada’s hands pales in comparison to Yama. Even more interestingly, since Tokinada leagues below Aizen’s level of reiatsu, aura is able to subdue his mimicry of Kyoka Suigetsu by reiatsu crushing it
Zabimaru really represents Renji's personality. I see it as angry, relentless, sacrificial, erratic, and grasping for power. If Renji had 100 years to work on his bankai, it would be a top contender. Given its modularity, I could see it eventually becoming multi-headed like a hydra, and then lock down the enemy with its unpredictability. As it is, I think his zanpakuto is less about damage and more about battlefield control. Basically, its strength lies in moving the enemy rather than killing them. If Renji fought side-by-side with someone who locks enemies in place but needs precise positioning, like Rukia or Soi Fon, the effect of his power would be profound
You say that Kurumadani's Zanpakutō is barely offensive. I'd be willing to bet that anyone that had it used against them would find it *highly* offensive.
@@miles309 it was actually used in the light novel Can't fear your own world(I know he was only using the Manga for point of reference) by Tokinada with Enkosen which let's him copy shikai abilities he's seen. In that fight he shows that Kurumandanis zan is really effective with a more powerful wielder causing huge fissures and flinging rocks at the multiple captains who came to fight it. Coincidentally it also shows in that fight thst Kyoka Suigetsu while being amazing still was only as strong as it was because of Aizen. It outlines he needs a thing to cast the illusion on (like another person or rubble) and that it takes effort to keep the illusion locked on a person as it's lifted in one instance when Tokinada gets pressured. Just bringing it up because the wielder definitely does play into the versatility and strength of the zanpakuto.
20:12 I think Hanatarô’s sword is def unique. It seems perfect for him and someone in squad 4 but also it’s super cool that it heals you when it cuts you?? And then oddly enough it takes all the energy from healing you and like Kamehamehas it at you if I remember right. Odd lol
I actually suspect that her blade is much more dangerous than people assume. Remember, her powers are a product of Gin transplanting his reitsu into her to keep her alive after Aizen attacked her, which is why her blade shares its dust theme with his (ie. both shikai involve their blades turning into dust to attack at long range). If her bankai follows this pattern, it's likely that her blade's release will gain lethal poison, which is a really scary threat given the damage that Gin's poison did to even somebody like Aizen.
I actually disagree with the placement of Hisagemaru. If we take into account the fact that the user is extremely unskilled and has a low power level, then the weapon actually scales pretty well in comparison. We can’t forget that the user is extremely low ranked and therefore has a weak spiritual pressure. In the hands of a skilled combatant with experience it would be very impressive as they would be able to heal their own injuries in the midst of combat while retaliating with an overpowered counterattack. This weapon, given that the user does not receive a fatal blow, can potentially ensure that the user never dies in the middle of combat. It is essentially like Unohana’s fighting style automatically. Without having to waste your time with actual healing Kido. Not only is the healing instant, but we haven’t even seen the limits of what they can heal. For example with detached limbs.
Hanataro is useless in a straight fight but incredibly valuable in a team battle. Being able to heal whilst charging up an "ultimate attack" of some kind would be amazing. This list seems to only consider 1v1 arena style battles with direct application rather than possible applications of abilities in various situations.
but there is a way to fixed it tho but difficult one, you just need to go to the soul king palace and ask the God of Zanpakuto himself Oetsu Nimaiya to reforged your broken zanpakuto
That's literally the reason for why every bankai user needs to train atleast 10 years with a bankai in order to master it. Blame ikkaku for hiding his bankai and never actually bothering to master it.
@@helix276 Ikkaku did master his Bankai, however, his is unique, like Soifon's Bankai. The power is mostly in the Center piece, where the crest is, and it is powered up by the 2 extensions dealing damage, or taking damage. The fragility is part of his Bankai, it is meant to be able to defeat foes well beyond the Shikai's power, with its maximum power being a 1-shot kill, it isn't meant for follow up attacks, just like Soifon's Bankai. Just as Soifon's Bankai can replenish its missile, Ikkaku's Bankai can reform the largely empty extensions.
IMO the whole point of one breaking is that you get this feeling of OMG what kinda OP attack/opponent is strong enough to destroy a BaNkAi?! O_O Ikkaku's was underutilized and broke against a pissant arrancar, cuz he THOUGHT he was ready. Renji's & Ichigo's were RUSHED--the 3-day crunch & mere months(?) of using them before TYBW were nowhere near enough time to master them, certainly not against Ywach's Quincies. So they're fragile in the sense that if the user doesn't use them properly, it WILL break, just like any weapon.
@@douglascramer1501 but you can refine and evolved your bankai, like Yamamoto's Zanka no Tachi, according to "Yhwach", his bankai is difference compare to a thousand years ago from what we see now
Hanataro's Zanpakuto is only trash tier because he doesn't use it much. If Hanataro suddenly decided to train and develop his relationship with Hisagomaru it'd become a monstrous healing Zanpakuto.
@@echoesactiii3740 exactly! Tokinada used such power to heal an entire arm , and redirect the wound/damage to the enemy , so , Hanataro just needs to learn how to fight with an Asauchi and if he finds someone troublesome , just activates his shikai to heal himself while using hand-to-hand and kidou , until the gauge is full to inflict all that damage back to the enemy.
Your number one, was actually the smartest Zanpaktuo in the list. It saw Aizen’s and was like “hell no, you want me to attack that? Hell no again, let’s get out of here before he eats me”. The Shinigami did not even question his Zanpaktuo’s choice of abilities. That was a wise Shinigami.
Notes on a few of these: - Haineko is pretty decent of a Zanpaktou, many of the Vaizards had it way worse. Matsumoto did defeat Kira one on one with it off screen in the Soul Society arc, meaning it probably has enough of an offensive presence to be a threat. However it seems more of a defensive Zanpaktou over anything else, which is actually interesting. Matsumoto was able to fend off Mila Rose and Apache's attacks with it. - For Tobiume: In the anime-only, there's a scene where Apache fires a Cero at Hinamori + Matsumoto, and Tobiume instantly goes from its base form to its Shikai without any release command, indicating that Hinamori would technically have her bankai done. - Hanatarou's Zanpaktou isn't bad (at least not top 10 bad) when you consider that he can cut himself or his injured allies before releasing a blast. He doesn't necessarily have to hit bad guys and heal them to charge the scalpel.
Given other continuity errors, I would assume that anime only scene was just an error on their part. With the way Aizen could manipulate Hinamori, if she had a bankai he would have somehow made use of it if it had any value.
@@phonyalias7574 True, assuming she didn't get it after he defected from Soul Society. Also interesting how they then followed up the scene with Haineko again being used defensively to slow down the incoming Cero.
Thanks for the video dude I was kinda surprised by Tobiume being here but now that you mention it, it was pretty trash compared to how it could've been if Hinamori hadn't been turned into a punching bag from the start. I couldn't think what would be worse than Omaeda's zanpakuto but I had completely forgotten we saw afro guy's sword release so yeah, he is definitely the worst lmao
In defense of Zabimaru, it's designed to work against groups of weaker enemies, so think waves of normal hollows. plus if Renji was even halfway decent at kido his bankai would allow him to use one hand to fire with, that's more than can be said about hozukimaru. Hisagomaru's bankai would probably be overpowered, maybe it would have the power to redistribute damage done on the battlefield at will, the same way Benihime's restructure works, but alas we'll never know.
In a world where you can get a shikai with some form of special powers, having it just become a special weapon (Ikkaku, Hiyori) is a waste. Same for zanpaktou that just give you brute strength and not much else. You can be strong without a zanpaktou and kidou is also something which doesn't require one either.
A Bankai is meant to be used to beat opponents that are far above the user, so a huge burst of power in one area is actually essential. For Example: Almost nothing in the Bleach Universe could survive Soifon's Bankai.
Wait I just changed my thoughts on the medical scale Zanpaktuo. That weapon is amazing. All he really needs is to use kiddo attacks and fight in groups. He heals his allies and himself as they all get damaged and when the gauge fills up, he has an almighty blast attack that can potentially be used as a fuel for a kiddo attack. It’s just not developed enough and the wielder is a bit of a timid type.
I think Tenken's unique ability to repair damage the Bankai receives is explicitly due to the 'damage share' feature of it. Not only does damage it take effect Kommomura himself; but as Kommomura's wounds heal; so goes the bankai's. It's a two-way road. Makes me wonder if Kommumura was injured would the injury reflect onto his bankai.
For how much screen time she gets, I really wish Rangiku's Haineko could get some development. Due to being composed of billions of ash particles, its potential should be on par, if not greater, than Senbozakura. Imagine if she could create objects with the cloud of bladed/metal ash, like spears, shields or a sort of localized ash hailstorm to shred the opponents, possibly infiltrating their wounds and mouth and kill them from the inside out, like Senjomaru did to the distortion Quincy. And Bankai wouldn't even be out of the question, since the Zanpakuto Rebellion even gave both her and Haineko a nice chance to bond. And since Rangiku is one of the most seasoned vice-captains in the series, it's so sad to see her be underused. Note: also, Fire Force showed us what an ash user can do if they are taken more seriously, so it leaves me a bit butthurt as I love Rangiku.
She most likely would be one of the strongest lietenent and would've been captain of a division by the end of the series (Just replace mister i never did anything in bleach iba 😑😑😒😒)

This is speculation on my part but I assume that Aizen didn't know what it was at the time but that it was special since its basically what the Hogyoku is powered by he didn't know it had a will
Tommo heres an idea for you man since you have great knowledge of bleach. you should try designing your own zanpakuto in bleach and do a video discussing its shikai and bankai as well as any other cool little tidbits about it.... I think peeps would love this sort of thing from you man..... Unless youd wanna save this video idea for a subscriber milestone.
Renji and Yachiru's zanpakto shouldn't be on here. Also, I believe a good majority of these Zanpakto's perceived weakness are a product of their owner. Swap Byakuya as the wielder and they would probably be stronger. I would have added that dude whose Zanpakto that turned into a bunch of flying blades and he lost to Uruyu in the Soul Society arc
Yachiru's Zanpakuto is actually the remnants of the soul reaper's soul that Kenpachi took the Zanpakuto from, only modified by Kenpachi's soul, which is why it turned out to be completely unique. By Yachiru dominating that soul, she doesn't need to use her own Zanpakuto powers and can maintain her materialization indefinitely.
No mention (or did I miss it?) of Yoruichi's? For someone so strong, and for Zanpakto to be so integral to a character, she notably never uses it, and it's said in Can't Fear Your Own World that using it is basically a downgrade for her. I think you're overly harsh on Heineko, especially since you've made previous comparisons of it to Senbonzakura, and every time we've seen Matsumoto use it, it has been incredibly valuable and has some insane potential for powerful move sets if Matsumoto becomes more powerful.
Yoruichi's Zanpakuto is a generational Zanpakuto, like Nanao's. She had to leave it with the Shihoin Clan, which they will pass on after the next Head of the Clan is officially recognized. Soifon is only the Captain of the Stealth Force, not actually the Head of the Shihoin Clan.
if I remember tokinada uses hanataro's zanpakuto to heal himself and then send back this huge wave of energy, so I think the zanpakuto by itself is actually pretty impressive
Zennosuke's zanpakuto was given the short end of the stick as it was used to stall in an unwinnable fight. Against an opponent near his level, it would likely be terrifying when used correctly. It would also be insanely good in group battles as a crowd control/ defense method.
I think #3 has more versatility than you give it credit for. The problem lies with the wielder being a non-combat medic, not the weapon being a one shot wonder (which might not be the case. He has little to no official combat training because he's in a non-combat corp, so he has no idea about the outer limits of his blade). Imagine having a blade that heals the person struck and actually still wanting to treat it as a sword. He should train his own body for cqc instead and use it to heal himself and/or allies, and use the scalpel form to augment his cqc with precision strikes. Those things are sharp as heck so going after the major arteries along with kidou and hand to hand would be the best possible strategy until he achieved bankai.
Before I finish the video I’m thinking I will see tobiyume, heineko, and isanes zanpakuto EDIT: very happy i predicted 2 of the 3. And I feel like omaeda deserves a little slack 😭
Interesting video in my opinion , l'm quite new to the series soo l'm interested to see some new charwcters and some new zampakuto's in the future and also bankai's .
I do think most zanpaktu can evolve with the users increase in skill and knowledge of their sword. But alot of the character are young in soul reaper terms and don't use their bankia often or are new.
Komamura should’ve gotten an upgrade to where he wears the armor of his bankai giving him the full physical strength of that bankai while maintaining his own mobility/versatility. Making the opponents target MUCH smaller.
Also I think Zennosuke's zanpakutou gives him the ability to in some sense manipulate parts of the earth with his reiatsu similar to an Earth Bender. He chose to use use it to run away because... I mean it's Aizen
Top 10 most skilled Characters would be interesting. That video got me thinking like what if more skilled people would have wielded those swords? Basically who are the top characters who could make the best use of whichever Zanpakuto or ability in general.
I definitely feel like Momo & Matsumoto's zanpakuto would be stronger when the reach Bankai. I'd imagine Matsumoto would be similar to Byakuya's bankai as it is the same as the shikai but a power boost. I would be interested to see what Momo's would be
I am just seeing this from another perspective. Hisagomaru is something much like Orihime's power but a bit nerfed. The gauge is not really specific if it goes up per use or per healing session. Maybe the blast it produces after the gauge is full depends on how much damage Hanataro healed. Perhaps the blast can kill captain-class opponents if Hanataro healed someone that is already close to dying. I am just throwing this here.
Now that I think about it, part of the “power” that comes from a ZANPAKTUO is derived from the Reitsu of its Shinigami. When I say power though I am referencing it strength and killing prowess. I am remembering Aizen’s comment about Soifon’s stinger insta-kill and how it did not affect him because the gap in the level of their respective reitsu was massive. Aizen’s amount of personal Reitsu was enough to swallow her insta-kill ability despite landing a second blow to him. So technically each of these Zanpaktuo are limited not by their own degree of potential, but actually are limited by the Reitsu reservoir and experience of the Shinigami they serve. That would explain the unique way the Zanpaktuo seemed to behave and the extra abilities they seemed to have in the Zanpaktuo Rebellion arc. They were free from their masters and thus had free reign to express how much or how ever little they want of what they are capable. That explains The Giant Zanpaktuo having a flaming mouth despite just appearing as a giant samurai in its Bankai state. It was free to express more of itself that Komura had not mastered or cared to explore. Plus it appears some of the Zanpaktuo also require a form of maturation like a living being. In summary, these weaker Zanpaktuo could… 1…. be immature and need time and training to develop, as some of them do appear to be “youthful” when they materialize in the Zanpaktuo Rebellion. Examples… (Soifon, Heineko, Momo) 2…. Be Weakened by the lack of Reitsu they have access to from their Shinigami weilders to fully explore their abilities. Examples... (Momo, Heiniko) 3…. Appear Underdeveloped because their Shinigami weilders do not have the skill, time or motivation to utilize they abilities of the Zanpaktuo. Examples… (Momo, the Medical Shinigami with a scalpel for a Zanpaktuo, your honorable mention character who purposefully mispronounced his Zanpaktuo name)
OMG!!!!!!! Yes I looks forward to this videos!!!!! I swear!!! I needed this video. And PS Haineko is a bankai that I wish we could see it full extent. I would’ve place it higher because I don’t see the really destructive power, but like you said surface level cuts🙃🙃
I have a theory that each zanpakuto has a special ability/atack but most shinigami have never unlocked it and probably never will because of their bond with their Zanpakuto.
Finally, Rangiku's is one of the most versatile zanpakuto in the universe. It's one of the rare types that has defensive capabilities. with that zanpakuto the only barrier is imagination of the user. it doesn't do much damage which is its one and only flaw, but it can do it in volumes. She could be forming weapons from the ash, like chakram or arrows and rain them on the enemy, or cut the enemy from inside (enter through the nose, ears or mouth in small quantities throughout battle)
I actually think Ikkaku's sword is so easily damaged due to the amount of hours and use he puts on that thing. Everyone in that division just lives to fight, I wonder if its just worn down lol.
Absolutely love your vids! I really gotta get into this franchise. I’ve watched all the battles twice but since I haven’t followed the story too close it just looks like a prison with swords. Like who’s in who’s side?!?! Everybody is trying to cut everybody to bits and Orihime is for sure going to be on the ground somewhere doing that weird “ehh…..a….hehhhhh…mhh….hhh” breathing that damsels do.
so there is one fact about hozukimaru you got wrong. ikkaku spinning it around doesn't increase its power, hozukimaru gets stronger the longer it fights and the more it wakes up. i believe that ikkaku even stated that hozukimaru is a slow starter and that he either has to slash things up or get slashed up in order to fully awaken hozukimaru

I would argue that Rangiku's zanpakuto is limited more by her inability to use it properly rather than it being inherently weak. Had she been training with it as long as Byakuya had trained to use Senbonsakura, I imagine it would be just as good. Just my take on it.

@@douglascramer1501 Gin would've killed Aizen if it wasn't for the hogyoku

I mean, Afro-san survived Aizen, so I'd say it did its job perfectly. XD
Nanao's Shinken Hakkyoken should be on this list. It literally is only useful in 1 situation, which is against a God made out of light which conveniently turns out to be Lil Baro.
Her zanpakuto is basically plot armor materialised into a weapon.
It's useful against all gods who attack against her while she's using the blade. It's been hinted that it separated the SK originally.
Why can't she use it to kill Aizen?
Or Yhwach?
We can just marry her to Aizen and he would die.
That use against Gerard would have been genius
I think Rangiku's Haineko could potential be a very dangerous Zanpakuto if she practiced with it more. Imagine if she were to make it into a invisible dust cloud that her enemies would unknowingly inhale entering the lungs and bloodstream which would then allow her to shred their lungs, blood vessels, and other organs from the inside out. It would be like a more subtle version of Senbonzakura.

It mimics its user exactly, so it depends on the user's speed, if say Yoruichi used Flash Step with this thing it'd move so fast everything would be gone. But Komamura is a tank so giving him more power but also an easier target just doesn't help either.

I think Hinamori relied more on kidou. She seems to have neglected her zanpaktou, perhaps deliberately.
I had always thought that Tobiume was a kido amplifier.
dont fucking care its all weak still
21:20 I like to think that the usefulness and concept behind Hisagomaru is based off of being a support class in a video game. He can hit his allies to heal them while being on the back line, and then release a powerful blast defensively if the front line is passed, as a last resort.
Exactly this. Hisagomaru's a suppirt Zanpakuto better used while in a team.
Love how even kubo didnt like gegetsuburi because he kept changing or forgetting the original design
Feel like you failed to separate zanpakuto and wielder for a couple of these, tbh.
Zabimaru for sure
I mean, its kinda important since your zampaktou is completly unique to you, except in cases like toshiro or nanao

Hanatoro has a GREAT zanpakuto, he’s lieutenant level if he trained
One contender for this list that everybody seems to have overlooked is Tsunzakigarasu, owned by Jirōbō Ikkanzaka.
For those that don't remember, he was the fourth seat that Ishida beat during the invasion arc.
I was expecting this to make the list for sure... Zabimaru is leagues better than that
Hisagomaru was useful in the hands of Tokinada as part of his weird zanpakuto
Even more interestingly, since Tokinada leagues below Aizen’s level of reiatsu, aura is able to subdue his mimicry of Kyoka Suigetsu by reiatsu crushing it
@@themoomy yup

The way the novel ended was mysterious

Bleach kinda lacked in the latter part. It was just one person face offs with a whole bunch of spectators kinda like what DBZ turned into.

Notes on a few of these:
- Haineko is pretty decent of a Zanpaktou, many of the Vaizards had it way worse.

Tobiume is explosive type, and i quite like it. the weak part probably because of its wielder

Thanks for saying what I've been thinking forever. Hiyori's blade is just Renji's but way worse.
I appreciate you putting in the chapters or whatever they are called for easy jumping around the video.
Is Ikkaku's Zanpakuto weak? Absolutely, it breaks all the time and serves almost no purpose.
Is his bankai cool as hell? Fuck yes.
Finally started the light novels after finding your channel. Almost finished with the first.
I always wonder how much more powerful Rangiku and Haineko could have been if she still had part of the soul king within her soul

Renji and Yachiru's zanpakto shouldn't be on here. Also, I believe a good majority of these Zanpakto's perceived weakness are a product of their owner. and also that guy who fought Chad before Shunsuii appears. fucking hilarious
About the only thing renjis’ zanpakto is good for is dealing with groups of low level Gilliian. The thing sucks
Renji's Zanpakuto fucking sucks.
Great vid 😊 waiting for the battle analysis of the zero division
"Fireballs just aren't that special in Bleach" spoken as if the main character's only attack wasn't shooting sharp fireballs
if I remember tokinada uses hanataro's zanpakuto to heal himself and then send back this huge wave of energy, so I think the zanpakuto by itself is actually pretty impressive

I am just throwing this here.
thanks for the upload, it keeps me occupied during the summer
In summary, these weaker Zanpaktuo could…
1…. be immature and need time and training to develop, as some of them do appear to be “youthful” when they materialize in the Zanpaktuo Rebellion.
Examples…
(Soifon, Heineko, Momo)
2…. Be Weakened by the lack of Reitsu they have access to from their Shinigami weilders to fully explore their abilities.
Examples...
(Momo, Heiniko)
3…. Appear Underdeveloped because their Shinigami weilders do not have the skill, time or motivation to utilize they abilities of the Zanpaktuo.
Examples…
(Momo, the Medical Shinigami with a scalpel for a Zanpaktuo, your honorable mention character who purposefully mispronounced his Zanpaktuo name)
The list that no shinigami wants to top.

No some are just built to increase physical strength while others are kido based.
@@chrisbarnesbarnes8332 the special abilities can be physical just like Yachiru Zanpakuto, still physically based but not just an ordinary sword.
Everybody is trying to cut everybody to bits and Orihime is for sure going to be on the ground somewhere doing that weird “ehh…..a….hehhhhh…mhh….hhh” breathing that damsels do.
zennosuke’s zanpakuto reveal was the best scene ever
I love these kinds of vids
so there is one fact about hozukimaru you got wrong. ikkaku spinning it around doesn't increase its power, hozukimaru gets stronger the longer it fights and the more it wakes up. i believe that ikkaku even stated that hozukimaru is a slow starter and that he either has to slash things up or get slashed up in order to fully awaken hozukimaru
