Hello MARK,,,, thankyou so much for this great review on this great ELVIS boxset!!!!! It seems that alot of ELVIS channels have problems with this set, I don't get it this is a amazing set. I'm always thrilled when their is a ELVIS release ecspecily a boxset. Thankyou again for not trashing this boxset, and like me sit back and enjoy pure ELVIS!!!!❤❤🇺🇸
hello just got my copys of the memphis box sets and vinly too i have been listen to the cds i am playing lots of elvis where has 47 years gone mark he is timeless
I got my copies last week but so far have only played the lp which i love, its sounds great. There is a lot of critism about the sound but i shall reserve judgement until i play it myself which will be this weekend. Great video Mark, enjoy the set. Julie x
Hi mark another great review I bought the boxset when it came out it's really good I agree with you it's well worth the money I like the 5 CD boxset I think that was the stax recordings long live the king
I’m glad you got them, as I picked up those two along with the Graceland exclusive red LP. I was chatting with a couple of TH-camrs here in the States and we were all of the opinion of being underwhelmed. Everyone’s opinion will vary…just my $.02⚡️
Thanks for the review. Mine is ordered and should be shipped next week. Interesting choice of song order on Album 1 Track B “You’ll Think of Me” before “Suspicious Minds” … looking forward to this release!
I am glad you enjoyed this release. I have been put off from buying by negative reviews on other channels. They report serious issues particularly with the mixing/ mastering on the American sound 1969 material. How do you find it? I have heard 'Don't cry daddy' it sounds a little odd in my opinion the way they have Elvis harmonising with himself. See video by 'Elvis Archival Preservation Society' as an example of a view of these issues.
@robertbeaumount8541 please don't LISTEN to the other ELVIS channels that put this down , there is a couple of issues with the boxset but still well worth buying. It's a great release, I don't hear most of what these channels are complaining about. I just hope you make you own decision on buying this set I don't think you'll be disappointed. Thanks and have a great weekend my dear ELVIS friend.
Well, the fact of the matter is that the set could've been better if Ernst Jorgensen had more of a creative mindset. There should've been a few cuts from December 4, 1956 included. There should've been a couple of minutes of excerpts from the interview done at Graceland on March 7, 1960. And a few bonus tracks should've been included from June 10, 1975 and July 5, 1976 from the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum.
I am enjoying this release on Amazon music I have not yet got a physical media copy of it. I will get the cd box. It will go nicely with the Elvis In Nashville box set.
Interesting comments - not sure that outside of the fanbase, there are a great number of people buying this release as overall sales since it was released in the UK are around 1200 copies and this covers both the CD & vinyl which you have plus streaming and downloads. That said, that’s around the average in recent years although From Elvis in Nashville got an extra 700 in the same period. I find this release especially the vinyl version quite disappointing for an iconic artist like Elvis. The fact that the inner sleeves have no additional info on them is quite poor and using basic paper sleeves as opposed to good polylined sleeves is certainly not good either. It smacks of keeping costs down to a minimum but unfortunately, it tends to go with the small market/low sales. It’s a shame that Suspicious Minds has a sync error in the guitar track and the edit mistake on Any Day Now is unforgivable. I still cannot make up my mind in Don’t Cry Daddy neither can quite a few fans it seems. The other disappointing thing with the vinyl is the number of tracks - just 24 from a selection of over 100, and just 6 songs from one of his best recording sessions in 1969 - I’m sure they could have got it up to at least 30 tracks. But if you liked the vinyl, you’ll certainly enjoy the 5 CD set - I found discs 3 and 5 to be the most enjoyable. Disc 2 was okay, but they should have included songs like Inherit The Wind, Just A Little Bit of Green, My Little Friend, And The Grass Won’t Pay No Mind and This Is The Story and jettisoned Hey Jude, From A Jack to a King and This Time/Can’t Stop Loving You. Sony. certainly made a few strange decisions. Happy listening.
Such a great set from Sony Legacy.
Elvis Memphis.
It could've been even better.

@robertbeaumont8541 I like the way that it's as Elvis would've sounded with backup singers or accompaniment

Not to be negative or anything like that , but Elvis Archival Preservation Society are no experts.
