have enjoyed my Aethos comp since 2021 and its still very good with a few upgrades (7kg now), agree that it may well get more compromised if it was updated....
@@christophertan3195 yes, but everyone wants carbon fibre frame bikes with high-end components for the price of an aluminium bike with cheap components. 🤷♂️
The Aethos geometry is very similar to the Tarmac which is a race geometry. Most buyers do not need nor want this. Specialized should design one with more of an all around geometry, higher stack and shorter reach with slightly more tire clearance. I'd consider buying one if they did that!
Cube released their 2025 lineup weeks ago, and it's 🔥. But no new iteration of the litening aero. I own one. I'm not fully convinced we need a new one. My size 60 with ultegra di2 weighs 7,9 with pedals. That's quite competitive already, and it performed well far up with the Scott foil on the tour wind tunnel test.
No mention of the potential new Cannondale Synapse, as seen under Lachlan Morton on his lap of Australia. Looks much like the new Supersix so expect it to be a sportier, lighter, more aero bike than the current Synapse. Zooming in on some of the shots downtube storage and mudguard mount are visible….
@@ericbeech2652 I know that I’m isolated here in the US - but I honestly haven’t seen a modern (current) Campagnola groupset in the last several years.
I want to buy another newAFFORDABLE Giant TCR Advanced Pro carbon again. Easily the best road bike I have ever ridden by a country kilometer. It does everything, climbs like a demon, descends like on rails and accelerates like a porsche from a standing start.
the Aethos could be improved by changing the geometry from the same as the Tarmac to more of an endurance one. The Tarmac is nearly as light as the Aethos already. I looked into buying one but couldn't find a good reason to pick the Aethos.
The hard sell on the Aethos is it’s not easily communicated, it’s not something you can see in a chart or lab test. All my peeps that own an Aethos rave about the way it rides, through corners, up hills, rough and smooth asphalt, the light weight is rarely something they bring up.
@@RookYZRM1that’s really exactly it. It just rides so, nimbly while also remaining extremely predictable. Its weight is honestly nothing more than the icing on the cake.
Since I know (w/o even watching this "ad") that this is going to be about electronic shifting and gravel bikes, a.k.a. cyclocross, why waste time? I'll keep my R8000 man's, non-millennial edition bike.
Future bikes will just get more expensive with some more added stupid features. The industry and the consumers will be celebrating expensive new garbage bikes😂 only the true passionate Retro Grouch will continue to ride steel and titanium bikes with rim brakes, and they are the ones who let the frame artisans innovate to make more bespoke frames.
Not really lol, my custom bike is coming in as a full titanium build, but with disc brakes and UDH standard only 😉. I’m not poor, but I’m not rich enough to waste good money on pointless stuff like rim brakes.
Cannondale doesn't need to create an overpriced version of their budget road bike. Would it be cool, hell yeah. Do we need another bike that costs way too much, making the sport even more elitist than it already is.
@@nomadcarpenter8549 yeh they just need to make it a bit lighter though and it would be ace. You can still get them down in weight too, albeit with after factory mods of course
most of all, I want an affordable one...
Too true. I’m starting to think I’ll never to be able to afford/justify a new bike again in my lifetime.
there are a lot of affordable ones
Me too!
There are many affordable bikes. What you MEAN to say is you want a pro level race bike for the same as an entry level bike

The van rysel tour replica has been taken off sale. I think that hints a version 2 or at least a new paint job coming next year
