I've never liked the look of Primal Fear. Not only does everything just look... Over the top outlandish, but everything I've ever seen of it just seems like a mod made to kill you as often as possible by having insanely overpowered dinos all over the place.
This is honestly my biggest negative with all of the overhaul mods. They don't seem to have a way of making certain areas of the map danger zones. Sure, I want to have crazy powerful raptors killing me on the beach where I spawn but I don't need one of the endgame bosses spawn near my base, destroying all progress, and that happens once in a while in these crazy mods.

That mod aims to be realistic without turning dinos into overpowered magical gods. I really recommend that one.
You definitely need take a good look at Omega, I've played a massive amount of mods and Primal Fear (and it's additions) was my favourite until I played with Omega, it's very impressive and has somewhere near 94k possible Dino variations with more being added often. Not to mention the bosses, gods and group god's. All this with an impossibly small download due to how the mod works.

I would also very much reccomend Pyria as well as Shad's Atlas imports. Pyria is probably the best fantasy themed mod in Ark and is kinda right between vanilla and total conversion, with it keeping most creatures stats within reason, while adding a lot of unique creatures, items and bosses. Shad's atlas imports is a very good mod to add to a vanilla playthrough, it adds in a few interesting creatures from atlas (the pirate-themed ark-ish game not many people play anymore) and doesn't break the game too much (it even adds in a cat, and it's the cutest creature ever).
Pyria is great, but is nothing close to vanilla. The time I installed it I just passively tamed a pair of those elf archers and the rest or my playthrough was just watching them obliterating everything in 2 seconds, including bosses. Same thing was at the ocean, but using a mermaid (they are also passively tamed.) From the same author I tried Grand Hunt because they promised a "vanilla balanced experience". I tamed an Armaedron (passively taming, by the way) and I didn't need any other creature for the rest of the series. It could fly, farm, kill everything in its path. Geez. Those mods are everything but balanced. At the end it can be a good experience if you actually balance them by installing a pair of overpowered creatures mods, so you can have a challenge. I also thing overpowered creatures should never be passively tamed, it makes things so easy.

I believe the basic warriors were like lvl80, and the higher ones like lvl90. And they were still far from what the better pyria creatures were capable of. Other than those, the only passive tames were stuff like the Hiruku (or whatever the weird small wyvern thing was called) or the other humanoids, which were pretty much just a way to help players get proper starter tames, and they could not stand up to even stronger vanilla creatures, much less even intermediate level pyria tames. The other type of passive tames were end game boss creatures, which however required not only lvl100, but also items made from boss loot to get.

Pretty much the best settings you can for your pc. The more vanilla mods are very light. All of these work on single player but mods always work better on a server
Bro I’m sad that ps5 don’t have mods and I have a laptop but it’s so laggy and when I plug in my controller it’s hard hopefully in the near future they add mods for this
although i love ark it just became too easy to me im looking for challenging mods but since i did finish dox i cant find either a challenging or a fun mod to play i finished omega too but i couldnt actually kill the last 2 bosses due to the lag of the game and its constant crashes i had a massive overspawn of dinos mostly scouts as i would find 200 in one spot which lagged the game a lot but do you maybe have a fun mod with some challenge in it so i can play and have some fun much apreciated :)
Don’t play Dox and primal fear same time because the primal fear Dino’s just overpower the dox and make it easy but both are supper hard when separated

Depends on the overhaul mod :) Lots require to be first in the mod priority or are balanced inside themselves. So while you can use multiple, i highly recommend you stick to one at a time unless they advertise that they're compatible.

I've put many hours into primal fear, and i must say, after playing that, i don't think i can play vanilla ark ever again
Primal fear was my first overhaul mod I ever played and I have not been able to enjoy vanilla since then!
yeah same after primal fear i can bring myself to play vanilla anymore

Pretty much the best settings you can for your pc. The more vanilla mods are very light.
All of these work on single player but mods always work better on a server
primal fear is the best mod for lag i was playing it and i got op lag per second i will use other mod now finally and i wish it dont lag me
