Have a requirement question for you.
I want to implement a hierarchical system for equipment, SAP PM does this but it only links the highest utmost equipment with a functional location.
The issue is that we want the lowes possible tier in the hierarchy to have a functional location so we know exactly where it is.
Example, we have a large decon area mapped to a functional location. Finding a crane is nice, but i want to know specifically where this lowest level equipment is at to work on it.
    Any advice?
In short i want to also be able to list functional locations for any equipment even if it's a subset of a larger equipment.

Just looking for help in general in terms of locations for equipment and how it works

      Hello David,
This is how the standard works.
Functional location will be originated to the lowest levels of your equipment and subequipment.
It's not that only the main EQ, which is directly under the Functional location is linked to it.
The subequipment, which you installed under this equipment, will also hold the Functional location data.
And even if you go deeper, with another tier of equipment, it will also hold this Functional location.
Of course to achieve that - these objects have to be installed in the structure.
If u still didn't catch it or have a different view on that, drop me a msg on LinkedIn or at sapsystemdude@gmail.com
      Cheers mate,
      Dan

A custom mobile app is an old-school idea. People are moving towards public cloud solutions to get the latest and greatest innovations. I would recommend going with the SAP Service and Asset Manager mobile app, which would address most of the business needs. If any customer-specific extension is needed, we can always use the MDK so that we are not left behind in any technology trends and Industry best practices.

Thanks for your point of view Vijay!
I agree with the best practices approach and I am a big enthusiast of it. It makes the business life easier.
SSAM is not for every company - this is my personal finding. It ain’t cheap, if u r a big player - for sure u can go for it, but smaller companies won’t give it a go. This is what I hear really often, at least in EMEA countries.
Everything is possible with custom development - in this case as showed in the video - u need an MDK guy and other folks to deliver the enhancements.
If I knew SSAM ain’t so expensive (let’s see how it changes throughout the years) I would fully agree that it should be the choice #1 for mobile solutions supporting EAM. I really enjoyed my last project where we implemented SSAM 2305 for one of our Clients!
      Cheers man,
      Dan

Great video. How much time does it take to configure basic functionality which is shown in the video?

    • @sap_dude
      @sap_dude  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

Hi there! Most of the config is Out of the box, already there. The rest, which has to be done on top of that - not more than 2 days including testing.
      Cheers,
      Dan

@sapdude : Thanks for a wonderful video..One question though, You showed a glimpse of S4 HANA, the deice but what are the services and configurations needed in BTP ?

    • @sap_dude
      @sap_dude  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Senthilnathan!
SAP delivers two config docs for this solution - one is for BTP and all the other technical things, the second one is for the App configuration. Just Google them, they are easily accessible at SAP help portal (make sure u selected the right version).
Since this is an MDK app of course the core thing is to subscribe the Mobile Services in BTP, setup the Oauth and other stuff. You will find it in the doc.
      Cheers man,
      Dan

Hi Alan, it would be better if you post this question at community page.
If some functionality does not work for you, make sure the prerequisites are met + syclo part is done properly.
      Cheers,
      Dan
